Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8: Betrayal

Hideout

"You are not afraid of me, are you?" Raul asked curiously noticing how calm and carefree she was towards him.

"Why should I? It's not that have sinned or done anything to you or the gods" she defended herself.

"Hahahaha" he laughed at her response, she was startled by that as she wasn't expecting his reaction.

She stared at him while he laughed covering his mouth with his long but beautiful fingers.

She examined his appearance, from his hair, which had an unusual hair color, long and neatly brushed behind him.

The shape and color of his eyes, which was round and gray, had a straight nose, and heart-shaped lips that any woman will die to have a taste.

She went down to his chest, examining his features until she reached his lower part and paused and looked up only to lock eyes with Raul.

"What do you think you doing?" he asked making her look away shyly and blushing.

He smiled at her reaction and decided to tease her further by drawing his face closer to hers.

She turned and locked eyes with him again but this time so close that they could feel each other's breath.

Her eyes widened and she pushed him away harshly. "W-what do you think you doing?" She stuttered.

"Me? Don't you think I should be asking you that? Did you like what you are seeing"

"W-what are y-you talking about" she tittered and run off to hide her shy and blushing face under the oak tree.

He smiled softly and followed her. He went and sat beside her and they spoke and giggled for hours.

"What is the difference between a god and a guardian, no I want to know who is the strongest" she suddenly asked.

He scoffed and cleared his throat.

"Hmmm, there is not much difference but in simple terms, guardians are mortals with divine powers while gods are divine creatures that have their roles to play" he explained.

"Ahhh, very strange, why didn't he give us divine powers too?"

He laughed softly.

"There is no need for mortals to have divine powers because they are already special, for they have something, not a god or guardian can ever have" he explained wearing a serious look.

She smiled sadly as she glanced at him.

He sighed and turned towards her making her turn to the other side.

"It's already dark, I believe you should get going"

"Ahhh yes erm, I will get going then" she answered and stood up to leave.

"Wait, I want you to tell me more about the strange man who directed you to this place" he requested.

She felt agitated and avoided eye contact and began to step away from him. He noticed and felt something wasn't right but decided not to push further.

"Erm, I know nothing about him, he just came out of nowhere and helped me when I needed someone that is all" she trembled as she spoke.

Unknown to her, a guardian can know when you are lying and when you are speaking the truth.

"Hmm if you say so I will believe you" he assured her with a fake smile.

"I-I will leave now" she runs off.

He knew she was hiding something but decided to let it go because for some reason he had begun to show an interest in her.

Spirit Realm...

Rohda who had been unfortunate when it came to childbirth, finally gave up on having a baby.

She had consulted many gods but nothing had worked for her. She started questioning The supreme, begging for answers for years.

She drown in her sorrows and avoided everyone including her husband, Raul. They had been ignoring each other for days and nothing seemed to progress in their marriage.

Rohda who sat on her golden bed wearing a dead look did not notice her husband entering until he snapped at her.

She looked his way and asked, "Where have you been?"

He hesitated for a moment while getting undressed.

"Are you sure you want to know?" he throws a question as an answer.

Rohda scoffed. "I didn't think I had lost that right".

Hearing his wife speak in that tone he turned, to his wife half-naked and stared right into his wife's dead eyes for a while, and sighed.

"I went back to Vallee and I met someone very interesting today and I'm quite interested in her" he revealed.

"Her? She is a woman?" she asked.

"Yes," he answered.

"I hope you are not bothered by that?" he asked.

She hesitated and looked away. "No" she answered.

He sighed and Scoffed. "What was I expect" he murmured to himself and left the room.

Elora and Raul kept meeting up at Vallee, the hideout Elora, and her lover used to meet.

They had become so close to the extent of sharing personal issues. Raul ended up telling Elora about his wife's barrenness.

Their intimacy led to another as their body lusted for each other. Elora was the only woman who could capture the stone heart of Raul making him fall completely under her spell.
