Chapter 6 - Episode 1 - The weakling merchant (5)

The screen announced as he looked at it in confusion.

'Gamer's Knowledge…?' He looked at the little girl and saw that she didn't notice the screen at all. He was the only one who could see it. Min-beom tapped on the quick info option at the bottom of the screen, showing a brief description of his new skill.

[This ability allows the player to view the characters' information and recall every detail because of the knowledge they have.]

'What does that mean? Where the hell did this came from?' Min-beom looked at the little girl and his eyes widened. A hologram screen appeared in front of him, displaying the little girl's information.

[Name: Jeon Bon-Hwa]

[Age: 10] - [Level 7] - [Rank F] - [Class: Healer]

[Vision: The Creator of Animals] - [Abilities: Animal Telepathy [Lvl. 1 MAX], Animal Magic [Lvl. 1], Shielding [Lvl. 1], Healing of Faith [Lvl. 1].]

[Guild: None.] - [Stats: Stamina [Lvl. 1], Health [Lvl. 1], Defense [Lvl. 2], Speed [Lvl. 1].]

'I don't recognize her at all...'

'And a rank F little girl… That makes sense.' The screens vanished and everything returned to normal.

"Why did you help me?" Min-beom couldn't help but ask the little girl why. She looked away and then sighed softly. "You gave me a bread a few days ago when I was hungry, Ahjussi," she said and smiled.

"So! I wanted to repay you, Ahjussi!" She added.

'Really? This merchant gave her a bread?'

"Ah, I see…" Min-beom nodded slowly, resting his other hand on his hip. "Bon-Hwa, right?" He asked, the little girl's green eyes brightened, and she nodded her head eagerly.

"Y-yes, Ahjussi! You remembered my name!" She exclaimed happily as Min-beom scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah…" He laughed awkwardly as two creatures approached them. It was Myung-mi and Bora with sad looks on their faces, making him cringed out a bit.

'The hell?'

"MASTER! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE US BEHIND LIKE THAT!?"

The small [Myung-mi] dragon shouted at Min-beom as he flew towards him, his red eyes look like it was about to cry. Bora slithered towards Min-beom and wrapped around his shoulder.

"*hiss* You should've told us." Bora said as Min-beom rolled his eyes.

"I thought you two said that you guys are quitting on me?" Min-beom snorted as the little girl watched the three in confusion. "I-it was just a joke!" Myung-mi muttered as he folded his arms.

"Oh? So, you two can't live without me?" He teased.

"Of course, we both can't live without our master." Bora said as she hissed softly.

"You made a life and death contract with us." Bora added as she slid down to the ground. The little girl couldn't help but be amazed by the two talking creatures.

'A life and death contract...'

[Contracts with the creatures -

A creature that will look after you and follow you throughout the journey till your last breath. The creatures appear at the very beginning, and you could convince them to become your companion in the journey, if they are not convinced and finds it offending, they will be hostile towards you but if they find you interesting and wants to be your companion, the player and the creature will form a life and death contract. Every single day, the player will receive a daily bonus which is 5 coins per day from their companion.]

"T-that dragon looks so cute… I want to hug it…" Bon-hwa said as she walked towards the small dragon with curiosity and innocence.

"S-Stay away little girl!" Myung-mi snapped at her as Bon-hwa tried to reach for the flying dragon. Min-beom sighed and facepalmed. "Let her be, Myung-mi."

[The character, Jeon Bon-hwa is very curious about your companion, Myung-mi, The Indigo Dragon.] A screen appeared in front of Min-beom as he swiped it away. He checked the time and there were only two hours left.

'Oh no-'

"I think I should go back to killing some beasts… I just need two more and I'm done." Min-beom said tiredly as he looked at the little girl. "Have you killed any monsters yet?"

The little girl shook her head and frowned slightly. "N-no… Only three monsters in the first gate…"

'Figures.'

"Ah, that's too bad." He said as he looked down at Bon-hwa. She mumbled and looked away from him. "I-I'm a child, Ahjussi…" She spoke. Min-beom let out a sigh and squatted down to be at the same height as her.

"Not all children are weak, and I think you're a brave little girl." He smiled at her and then ruffled her hair. She nodded.

"K-Kind words! T-thank you Ahjussi!" She bowed her head respectfully as Min-beom stood up.

"Ah… please stop calling me Ahjus-" He was interrupted by the little girl.

"Ahjussi! Please teach me how to slay those beasts!" Bon-hwa said, her green orbs sparkling in innocence and matching with her wild energy, as if killing a creature was an easy task. She pointed at the terrifying beasts that were coming out of the gate.

[The character, Jeon Bon-hwa wants to learn from you on how to kill a beast!]

A screen popped up in front of him and then disappeared.

"F-fine! But it's too risky for a little girl like you!" Min-beom scolded as he let out a frustrated sigh.

[Jeon Bon-hwa's trust unlocked and increased from Level 1 to Level 2!] Another screen popped up in front of him and then vanished.

'Ugh… Who knew that I had to teach this little troublemaker how to kill…'

He glanced over at the others and checked the time on the screen. It was almost one hour. He quickly wielded his sword, aiming for any monsters that had their guard down.

"Take your weapon out, we're starting lesson one." Min-beom said, sounding like a teacher as the little girl nodded. She took out her weapon which was a grimoire and it hovered in the air.

'Darn… It's a great experience when you're inside of your favorite novel huh…'

Min-beom smiled confidently as the two creatures stayed in the corner, unwilling to cooperate with the current situation and choosing to be spectators instead. The little girl tried to copy his confident energy as a hologram screen appeared above her head:

[Animal Magic [Lvl. 1] Is now activated!]

Min-beom tilted his head to her as he looked at the screen on top of her head.

"Do you know how to use your powers?"

"A little…"

"Oh, okay-"

He was cut off when the little girl's hands glowed, creating an orb of light as something appeared behind her. A big figure that was made of light and then the light disappeared, revealing the big figure behind them.

It was a Rank D beast with white fur, giant and red menacing eyes [Giant Monstruous looking-wolf beast], just exactly their target. Min-beom flinched slightly as he swallowed in panic.

'Nevermind! T-This little girl… Is a menace!'

His face turned white as he tried to focus on the mission. He could hear the beast's low growl behind him, sending shivers down his spine. People were fighting non-stop until the scenario ended.

He could hear the clangs of the swords, the slicing flesh and the screams. The little girl was a bit terrified but tried to keep her guard up. Min-beom spotted a Rank D beast [Giant Monstrous looking-wolf] that had its guard down. He smiled nervously.

"There!" He shouted a bit loud as he charged towards the monster, hoping to catch it off guard. The little girl reacted a bit late as she followed him, running towards the monster with the beast she had summoned. She hoped that her animal magic would be enough to help them.

The beast spun around as it let out a loud shriek, almost enough to shatter their eardrums as its body fell dead on the ground. Bon-hwa and Min-beom had struck at the same time. The beast that the little girl had summoned faded away slowly after killing one beast.

A notification screen popped up in front of them: [Kill Rank D beasts (2/3) Incomplete] For Bon-hwa [Kill Rank D beasts (1/3) Incomplete]

[Several Gods are amazed by your teamwork.] - [5 Golds have been gifted!]

The screens vanished as Min-beom let out a weary sigh and wiped the blood off his cheek. Bon-hwa looked down at the lifeless body of the monster as she closed her grimoire and it disappeared. Min-beom suddenly let out a laugh that sounded a bit crazy as Bon-hwa looked up at him, raising her eyebrows.

"Ahjussi, are you okay?" She asked as Min-beom stopped laughing. "Y-yes, I'm fine. You didn't see anything."

[Several Gods are facepalming due to Chun Min-beom's foolishness.]

'I was just celebrating our victory in a crazy way.' He rolled his eyes, ignoring the pop up.

"Uhm… Ahjussi, I need two more kills… Do you think I could do it?"

Bon-hwa asked, her green eyes shining as she looked at him, like she was about to cry. Min-beom let out an awkward chuckle, despite him being not good with kids.

"Of course! Why- Why would you think you can't?! You just killed a Rank D beast, and your Rank is low!" He said, trying to cheer her up.

"Y-you're just saying that Ahjussi to make me feel better."

[The character, Jeon Bon-hwa is not slightly convinced at your positive words.]

The little girl started to sniffle as he began panicking. He shook his head nervously as the others looked at them.

"N-No! Of course not! I'm telling the truth!" He nervously ruffled her hair and patted her shoulder.

"Did that guy make a child cry?" "Oh my god… That's so awful…" The others whispered as Min-beom's eyes widened, smiling nervously.

'I'm just not good with children…!'

[Several Gods despise you due to your horrible babysitting.]

[Fifty minutes left!]
