Kara had trouble sleeping since she kept having nightmares about Lucian, so she got up earlier than usual and proceeded to investigate the estate. Perhaps she should have continued to make plans for her escape. She got the sense that she was betraying her own species in some way by not doing so, but her kind had been wrong about so many things that she found herself not seeking a way out as she prowled around the rambling building.
