Chapter 52 - When the gears of fate began to to spin

The forest of Engarda was the biggest forest in the entire world covering an area equivalent if not bigger to that of the human territory. There was a side however that was abandoned, it was a place where poisonous plants grew and wild and dangerous animals roamed the land, the place was perilous to live in but despite that deeper into that forsaken land was settlement, a single blot of greenery in a sea of dangerous plant, it was like a hidden utopia with fruits and vegetation and in it lay a small kingdom the size of two or three villages and in that kingdom a young lady with pointed ears, dark skin, black hair and red eyes dressed in an alluring savage manner rushed towards the biggest and tallest building in the entire kingdom which was at the center.

""My lady.""

Two guards at the entrance greeted her, they were muscular man with mean looks and permanent scowls, their eyes were pointy and their skin was just as dark as the young woman's. Seeing as two man of such stature politely greeted her, it showed that she was a person of quite a high standing in their society.

She passed the two guards after nodding at them and proceeded inwards. A door stood in front of her and another set of guards stood there. The door had a depiction of a dragon engraved on it, a huge dragon soaring cloudy skies with lightning around it.

Like the other guards these two also bowed to her and opened the door for her which led to the throne room. Indeed, this huge central building was the kingdom's palace, a place that emphasized functionality than grandeur.

"My Lord."

This time she was the one who knelt and bowed her head, she was in front of an elven warrior who carried himself with dignity and exuded the airs of a gentleman, unlike the lady, his skin was white and his eyes were green. This fine elf with the airs of a swordsman aristocrat was standing on the right side of the azure throne, wherein sat a man clothed in white and blue apparel, his hair was blue reaching all the way to his shoulders and his eyes of the same color were slitted. This man seated on the throne was unlike any of those seen so far, his ears were round like that of mortals and he gave off a chilling repressed aura like the sea powerful and tranquil but also dangerous, on the other hand of the throne was another lady of breath taking countenance like the one kneeling before her but similar to the man seating on the throne she gave off a certain aloofness that told everyone around her that she was bad news and she too was mortal.

"Lindana, I see you have safely returned, I take it you have something important you want to tell me?"

The one on the throne asked.

"Indeed my king, as you commanded I went outside our borders to suggest an alliance between our nations but the elven leaders at the fort refused saying they wanted to meet you in person. After I left I happened to come across the ogre army, they mobilized earlier than we expected. The elven fort will be facing an attack about a day from now."

"An attack?"

A new comer joined them, the voice belonged to an extremely voluptuous elf whose chest was out of the norm for most elven folk. Waist length golden hair crowned her head with a presence like the sun.

"Yes my lady, an ogre army of about a thousand is marching there as we speak. The ones leading them is an ogre with insane power carrying an ominous sword."

"That must be the bad omen I have been feeling all day."

The new elven beauty creased her brows seemingly worried.

"You have done well Lindana, go get some rest."

The king nodded to her, ever since their encounter five years ago she had never seen him change from his lucid and cold expression but Lindana liked her even more for that, he was a man who boasted of unparalleled strength, an outsider who had managed to force a group of misfits like her into servitude.

"Allow me to excuse myself my Lord."

She bowed once with a hungry smile and left.

"That woman hmph."

The busty elf looked the other way while pouting, that is another thing that had not changed these past years the two ladies had hardly seen eye to eye from the moment they met. Why? Well being similar while sharing the same affections for the same man would do that to any woman

"Lindana does seem to affect you a lot, are you jealous?"

Even though his face was dry with no smile his blue eyes were glowing with warmth.

"As if, what do I have to be jealous about?"

"Probably the affection our lord shows her."

The knightly elf standing next to their lord smiled wryly and asserted before turning a serious gaze to his liege.

"Master, what are you going to do?"

"About what?"

The blue haired king responded coldly.

"Are you going to save them?"

The elven knight's voice sounded weak and pleading. The king took his time to look at all their faces. The busty elf was also pleading while the mortal next to him seemed unfazed by everything.

"Help? That is narrow thinking when used to describe what I am going to do."

The king got up with a new vision in mind, one that Heilis could not fathom at that time, this was the birth of the man who set out to conquer the entire world, the most hated existence, the abomination, the one who was loathed by the world but highly favoured by fate. Karlmine Regulus.
