"Lady Tiamat, anyone help me please."
Staring death in the face the princess could only make weak pleas to the world just for anyone to come to her rescue, the ogre army had just battered most of her army to death in front of her despite her efforts and she was well aware that she was next. Even the old man Geswald who was one of the most powerful elven warriors was left on the verge of death by the Ogre general. Samora had used her powers to stall him so that her few surviving subordinates make an escape with Geswald and heal him but now that she was left with but a few soldiers and was facing her death fear gripped her heart and she realised that she really did not want to die yet.
"Hahaha you strumpet, who do you think cares about a useless dark elf like you?"
His words struck deep within her, she did not think anyone would really care about her especially after becoming a dark elf. To her family, friends and race she was now an outcast however___
The moment he finished saying that from nowhere the sky darkened because of the gathering of massive thunderclouds, they rumbled and then a blinding flush of lightning hit the place when it subsided____
"I actually happen to care."
He was back, Karlmine was back with the same parrhesiastic voice as usual. Samora did not believe her eyes but no doubt the man she left for dead was standing in front of her. His presence was magnificent like someone taken from a myth and with him where several other people two of which she was well acquainted with, the head warrior's son Heilis and her former best friend Beldandy. There was also a familiar face, a young lady she had only met once who had escaped with Karlmine before and then there was____
(A dark elf?) Yes there was also a dark elf with them, she was also familiar with her, she was the envoy that had come to make a treaty with them a few days ago.
"What you do with everyone in this village I do not care but that woman on the ground, the one you just killed was kind to me and that princess over there well its complicated____ what I am saying is for that I will slaughter you all, I believe in human language its an eye for an eye right?"
The woman in question who had been kind to him was the old elf who had taken care of him when he first awoke in thus village. She had been a casualty of war.
What Karlmine was emitting was not malice nor was it wrath it was just a heavy murderous pressure. The whole crew readied their weapons as they sensed that something bad was about to happen.
"W-Why are you here?"
Samora did not believe he came specifically to save her so she had to ask why he decided to pitch in just when she needed help the most.
"Well you called to me and asked me to save you didn't you?"
He was calm of cause but he too was confused by what had just transpired one minute he was in the forest with her long lost retainer and subordinates then he heard it, the princess' tiny whisper 'help me please' and then the next thing they were zapped back to the elven village and by zapped I mean it literally. A lightning strike transported him to the village. He could feel that a huge chunk of his power had gone out of him leaving him slightly exhausted, he had not yet mastered this ability of his but that was a matter for later.
Samora on the other hand was confused because she was sure that a minute ago she had just made a petition of assistance to____
"No way, it cannot be."
She gasped in shock but apparently she had figured out what had just happened, when she faced Karlmine a few years back she had received a divination about it but she had no idea what it meant but now all the pieces were now in place for her to see the full picture. This was a world shuttering revelation one that could overturn the balance of power between the races.
It seems the enemy could not wait for the two to finish their conversation and impatiently launched an attack, a great fire ball formed on the hand of the ogre general, the sheer quantity of mystic energy filling it was ridiculously huge and dense. Allowing his battle instincts to take over, Karlmine immediately judged that even he would suffer heavy damage if he was caught on the blast because it was a sure kill attack granting a one way ticket to the afterlife and this is precisely why he was sure he was going to win as such he gave of a savage grin.
"Ominous green flames said to burn hotter than the sun, the infamous ogre flame huh? Hit me with your best shot."
Despite the overwhelming pressure from the ogre general's gaze and the threat of his attack Karlmine was not fazed infect he went on to taunt the ogre holding the weapon of death.
"You are well versed mortal but do you know who you are up against."
The savage grin of the ogre was one of someone well assured of his victory. This ogre who even among his kin was known for his brutality did not see any other outcome than that of him and his soldiers achieving total victory. As he asked the question his thoughts where on how he would play with the pure elven maidens later on to his satisfaction.
"The suspense is killing me why don't you enlighten me."
Karlmine just shrugged with his icy demeanor, a lot had happened in these past years, while before he was an amnesiac now he was not, while before he was aloof because of his emotional impairment now he was back to himself the one whose arrogance was inborn, the one who believed he was above all. To others the ogre general was something straight out of a nightmare but to him he was as good as grass to he trampled and forgotten.
Samora was confused, she had fought against Karlmine so she was well aware of his battle strength, he was powerful for a human but at best he was hardly at the princess' level while the general was a few leagues above the princess.
GENERAL GARUGA of the ogre kingdom also known as the demoneater was a well known ogre with thousands of battle achievements and almost a thousand of years. Actually it was said that most armies from the other races gave the 'flee on sight' order to their soldiers should the ogre appear on the battlefield. The same ogre was actually being taunted at by a mortal. However despite her fear her instincts were also tingling warning him that something was not normal everything was not as it seemed.
"Huh how pitiful the proud elven race's final hope rest on a soon to die mortal____ burn."
The ogre launched his attack which moved with insane speed for an attack that huge, the great fire ball devoured everything in its path whilst approaching Karlmine. Calling the attack a cataclysm would not be an overstatement because it literally melted the earth turning it into butning lava as it approached the mortal but____ just as it was about to hit him the princess saw it.
The glowing red eye
Karlmine's red eye gave off an ominous glow and the big attack disappeared, to be precise the space around his body distorted rippling like it had suddenly become liquid and the great fire ball was absorbed into it like a stone falling inside a great body of water.
Yes it vanished without doing any visible damage to him.
"I-Impossible!"
Garuga yelped producing a very unmanly scream even more so when comparing it with his body which was ripped with bulging muscles.
"I am truly surprised at your ability to deny that which is right in front of you anyways considering how unsightly you are and how clear it is that the phrase all brawn no brain was created for a pitiful creature like you____ Burn to nothing."
The last part was spoken with an icy tone, cold and merciless like winter. After those final words his body seemed to blur, the space in front of him seemed to become liquid again and the great fire ball emerged in full force the only difference was that now it was attacking its creator.
The ogre was too stunned to react until it was too late and like that he was swallowed by the conflagration of green flames. Holding true to its name the flame mercilessly devoured him in a world immolating flame of pure destruction it threatened to destroy the world and then_______
