"How so because I think it is highly convenient that it happened seeing as it cut us the trouble of going to your camp and gave us the opportunity to negotiate peacefully before any blood is spilt."
Karlmine asked, his expression was still aloof as always which was starting to agitate the ogres.
"For a human you say the most absurd of things, what do you think us the proud and mighty ogre clan will want from a race of puny and self important beings like the elves save for death and total subservience?"
"You can choose a coal______"
This time Karlmine did not get to finish whatever he wanted to say.
"How dare you call our esteemed race puny, insulting me is one thing but insulting my kin and brethren in front if me is your undoing."
Oozing clear belligerent aura with an unsheathed sword on hand was Heilis, he already had been miffed by the death of her fellow elves.
"Oh this day really has been fulll of surprises, first we meet an elf and a human colluding together and then an elf is the first to unsheathe his blade."
Elves were a peaceful race no doubt the most peaceful but it was also true that they were the most prideful race as such insulting their being was enough to earn their ire.
"Put down your weapon Heilis, we are in the midst of negotia_____"
"Know your place human, I was beginning to grow weary with all your tedious talks of peace. If the elf wants to battle we will give him one."
Hagaz cut him off before he had a chance to finish.
"Sigh how regrettable. Must I take your response as meaning you are not interested in talking?"
Karlmine asked.
"Haraka show this puny elf his place."
The big ogre instructed the ogre standing next to him who was wielding a big sword the height of a fully grown man.
"If you lose I will kill you."
Karlmine finally gave up since even his partner was against talking and more into the bashing of heads. It was doubtful whether Heilis heard that threat but it was clear the ogre was about to taste the fury of the young elf and Karlmine almost felt sorry for the ogre.
The two were given space and the others moved away so as not to disturbed them in any way.
"Young elf are you prepared to meet your end?"
Haraka asked while tapping his sword. His bloodlust was blanketing the entire place and Heilis found himself second guessing his decision to face this guy. It was clear this guy was a seasoned warrior.
The ogre suddenly took off with great power and speed covering the distance between them in three short strides. In all honesty he was moving quite fast for a guy his size but______
(Huh, so slow?) Heilis was surprised, he just could not believe how slow he was. Before the ogre's attack landed he managed to think of four different moves he could counter with. Actually it was not because the ogre was slow but because Heilis' reaction was too fast. He side stepped as the ogre's sword cleaved the air heading straight for his head, holding tight the hilt if his sword Heilis' sliced open the guy's flank.
"Guh!"
Steaming blood fell on the ground but Heilis without wasting his momentum turned and followed through with a horizontal sword slash which sliced the big guy's head off.
"….."
A great silence fell on that area, the ogres were left stunned, even if Heilis was powerful to easily defeat an ogre like Haraka shocked them to no end. Heilis however was the one most shocked, he had been training with Karlmine for over twelve days now and every time he got beaten to an extent he was beginning to doubt whether the training was paying off but after witnessing what had just happened he came to realize two things. First, the training had paid off even more than he had imagined and second, Karlmine was a monster.
