Chapter 21 - Small steps

Lillith's emotions boiled over as the weight of the truth bore down on her. Her gratitude for the honesty mixed with her sorrow and growing anger towards Lunaire, the cause of her suffering. Without thinking, she lashed out at the young goddess.

"You... you created me and cursed me with a life of misery and pain! You let me die in that cave! You're responsible for everything that's happened to me!" Lillith's voice quivered with a mix of rage and anguish, her eyes blazing with an intensity that demanded answers.

As the tension in the room continued to mount, Lillith and Lunaire locked eyes, their emotions swirling like a tempest. The silence that followed Lillith's outburst felt palpable, heavy with unspoken words and unresolved feelings.

Finally, Lunaire spoke, her voice trembling with genuine remorse. "Lillith, I know I can't undo the suffering you've endured, but please believe me when I say that I never wanted any of this to happen. I've carried the weight of my mistakes for so long, and I've been haunted by the consequences of my actions."

Lillith's anger didn't dissipate, but she could see the genuine regret in Lunaire's eyes. She realized that the young goddess was burdened by her own guilt and doubt. Despite her fury, a spark of empathy ignited within Lillith, softening the edges of her anger.

Erevos, the calm presence in the room, spoke softly but firmly, addressing both Lillith and Lunaire. "We understand that this is a lot to take in, and emotions are running high. But dwelling on blame won't change the past. What matters now is how we move forward, how we make amends, and how we find a way to right these wrongs."

Seriphina nodded in agreement, her playful demeanor now replaced by a solemn expression. "We brought you here not just to reveal the truth but to offer you a chance, Lillith. A chance to change your fate and rewrite your story It won't be easy, but together, we can work towards a better future." Lillith's anger began to wane, replaced by a sense of uncertainty and vulnerability. She had confronted Lunaire with her anger, but she also understood that holding onto that anger would only keep her trapped in the past.

With a deep sigh, Lillith spoke, her voice softer than before. "I don't know what the future holds, and I don't know if I can forgive you, Lunaire. But I'm willing to listen, to understand, and to see if there's a way to make things right."

Lunaire's eyes welled up with tears as she nodded in gratitude. It was a small step towards reconciliation, but it was a step nonetheless, and in the celestial chamber, the threads of fate began to weave a new chapter for Lillith. As the revelation of Lillith's past and the choices before she settled in, Seriphina and Erevos exchanged glances before heading toward the door. Their presence had been solely to ensure that their daughter Lunaire brought Lillith here and conveyed her apology. With gentle smiles, they bid their farewells to the celestial chamber.

"Take your time, Lunaire," Seriphina said, her voice carrying a sense of maternal reassurance. "Explain reincarnation to Lillith and give her the gift. We'll be leaving now."

Erevos nodded, his large and gentle frame moving gracefully as he followed Seriphina out the door. Lunaire watched them go, her eyes filled with gratitude for their support.

Once her parents had left the chamber, Lunaire turned her attention back to Lillith. With a warm smile, she began to explain the concept of reincarnation in the new world. "Lillith, in this realm, reincarnation is a wondrous process. When souls like yours depart from the earthly plane, they have the opportunity to begin a new life in a different world. The customization panel you'll have access to allows you to shape various aspects of your new existence, from your physical appearance to your talents and abilities."

Lillith listened intently, her curiosity piqued by the possibilities that lay ahead. Lunaire continued, "Given your substantial karma and trial points, you have the privilege of choosing from a wide range of options. And as an added gesture of apology, you'll get the amount of the most expensive item in both karma and trial points, and some of these choices will come at a discount or even be free."

A sense of hope and excitement welled up within Lillith. She nodded, ready to embark on this new journey with the guidance of Lunaire.

Lunaire smiled warmly, her confidence masking the occasional doubts that she carried within. "Now, let's begin by customizing your new life, Lillith. It's a chance for you to leave behind the burdens of the past and embrace a future filled with potential and happiness." "Lillith, since your customization is special, you can use a more advanced panel than the one you're usually."

Lunaire leads Lillith out of the office, and after walking for 2 minutes, they reach another plain door. "Ok, we made it," Lunaire says as she opens the door. Lunaire walks in with Lillith following closely behind.

"Where are we? Why is it so dark?" Lillith questioned.

"Oh, my bad, let me turn on the lights." Saying this, Lunaire claps, which echoes throughout the room. Within seconds, the room lights up, giving Lillith a chance to look around.

The room was entirely black with carpeted floors and about the size of a medium-sized two-story house. It didn't have normal lights; the top of the walls was covered in a string of LED lights, while the ceiling was covered in tiny glowing stars, which reminded Lillith of the night sky.

In the center of the room was a large three-person couch, but taking into account how big it is, it was more like a six-person couch. A few feet in front of the large couch was a kotatsu. On the wall in front of it was a large screen that covered almost the entire wall. Under the TV was a cabinet with games and systems. The back wall behind the couch was a bed. It was about the width of an Alaskan king bed, but the length of it spanned the entire room. Most of the bed was covered in stuffed animals though.

The rest of the room was covered in beanbags, what can be described as a snack cabinet, a fridge, plushies, and stuffed animals.

"Welcome to my room and your place of residence until you reincarnate." Lunaire's voice held warmth and hospitality as she gestured to the cozy and well-equipped space
