Chapter 13 - Chapter 11

A/N: Some of the scenes are false. I haven't researched yet about the law when someone committed a crime with a mental disorder. So I am not really sure about everything that the pyschiatrist will state. (Feel free to correct me^^)

Aki

As we four gather to my car, Primo drove us to the clinic. We stopped in front of a huge gate. Primo parked outside while Jin and I went inside with Maxen.

None of us talk until we stopped in front of the door. Jin pressed the doorbell as we wait to open it.

A man wearing a white collared shirt, necktie, white coat, and a white slacks welcomed us.

As I look around the house the color of the wall's cream. While the ambience's calming. I can see a lot of certificates hanging in the wall. There is this one certificate that caught my attention. It's his certificate for being a certified psychiatrist by passing the Board.

Psyche Vinley Korg, MD

We three sat in a huge sofa and the psychiatrist are in front of us.

"Aki this is Doctor Korg, Doc this is Aki and Maxen." Jin introduced. Doc just simply nodded while holding a black clip board.

The doctor was about to talk but then Primo entered the living room.

I forgot that we're with Primo.

"May I talk to the patient's parents?" Doc Korg asked. The three of us looked at each other.

Who's the guardian between us three?

"Are you two the patient's parents?" Doc Korg asked while looking at me and Primo. We both caught off guard and was shock.

"N-No Doc—"

"Guardians—"

We are the guardians now? I looked at Jin and she's emotionless. It looks like she's agreeing.

"I don't mind staying here with Maxen." she said with a normal tone of her voice.

I have no choice but to follow Primo.

While walking to Doc Korg's office. Primo explained everything about Maxen's parents.

Doc's just nodding while walking at the hallway.

We stopped in front of a white door and Doc opened it. We went inside and Doc sat in his swivel chair.

"Based on her background information, you mentioned that her parent's dead." Doc started. Primo gently nodded.

"Jin also mentioned that Maxen's suffering from maladaptive daydreaming?" Doc asked again, this time I nodded.

"Take note of this, maladaptive daydreaming are not yet recognized in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual and Mental Disorders. The prevalence of this issue are unknown. Are you aware that maladaptive daydreaming's a complete difference between daydreaming?" Doc Korg asked. We both nodded, unsure. We're not even aware that this kind of mental health can commit a crime. We haven't studied it yet.

"Daydreaming are perfectly normal. While maladaptive daydreaming can be a little bit of pleasant but most of the time, they are more likely to involve violence, captivity, rescue and escape scenario. Unlike daydreams, maladaptive daydream commonly enter the realm of fantasy." Dr. Korg said.

"How do maladaptive daydreaming linked to a person?" I asked.

"Well, experts still don't know what is the real causes of this mental health and there is no official method of diagnosis. It has been linked to social anxiety or previous trauma. There is also a research about, maladaptive daydreamers tended to have active imagination as children." Dr. Korg explained.

After a few more minutes of talking, Dr. Korg decided to ask a questions with Maxen. He also wants us to listen not in face to face. But he has this room where it has a monitor linked to the CCTV camera, inside Dr. Korg's office.

While walking at the hallway, Dr. Korg pointed to us the door of that room where we will stay at the whole time during their session.

We caught Jin and Maxen talking to each other sincerely, it looks like Jin's encouraging Maxen to strengthen herself. Maxen and Doc went upstairs while the three of us waited to come inside a room.

As we entered the room, there is a big monitor and a speaker while there is three chairs and a sofa at the back. We sat in the chair and waited for Dr. Korg and Maxen to appear to the screen.

Dr. Korg sat in the swivel chair and Maxen sat in an armchair in front of him.

"Maxen, I need you to answer my questions honestly." Doc Korg started. Maxen gently nodded and looked at the floor.

"Do your daydreams interfere with your daily life?" Dr. Korg asked. Maxen nodded. Dr. Korg's holding a clip board so he wrote something.

"What takes places in your daydreams?" he asked once again.

"I-I'm not sure... It always feels like I woke up several times a day." Maxen said while stuttering.

"How vivid and detailed are they?"

"I felt like I'm not inside a fantasy. I am realming through reality. Everything feels real. I-I mean, every scenario is real. It's astonishing, yet scary." she said while she's looking everywhere. She was like anxious in her surroundings.

"Can you stop yourself from daydreaming?" Doc Korg asked that made Maxen stopped.

"N-No... I-I can't stop it." Maxen said.

"Do you even want to stop it?" Doc Korg asked once again.

What do he think he's doing? He's pressuring the kid, yet it looks like it's normal for them. It's literally obvious that Maxen's not comfortable in there.

"Where do you think you're going?" Primo stopped me by holding my wrist. I looked at him, he immediately let go of my wrist.

"He's just asking nonsense," I gritted my teeth and looked at the monitor once again.

"Aki, calm down okay? Let's just trust the process." Jin said. I took a deep breath and sat again.

As if I have a choice, they're two.

"No, I don't want it to stop." Maxen answered straightly. She looked at Doc Korg's eyes.

Doc layed his back in his swivel chair while he put his fingers below his chin.

"We can make it stop, Maxen. You know you've been dealing a lot lately and we don't want you to take the risk." Doc said.

"So are you willing to be part of this therapy?" Doc Korg asked.

"No." Maxen said. We three looked at each other.

What? She doesn't want to get better? It has a chance that her case can get worst.

"And why is that?" he asked.

"She's a part of me."
