Chapter 5 - Meeting the Trainers

I walked through a few hallways before I met Iris walking towards my direction, she was wearing a combat suit similar to mine except hers was red and her hair was braided in two while mine was tied in a ponytail.

'Hey Iris, I see we had the same idea going for a mini tour round the castle.'

I said as she smiled warmly and replied.

'Yeah, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we bump into Zayn along the way', I laughed while nodding my head in agreement as we continued to walk past a few more doors and then just like Iris predicted there he was right in front of us.

'Hey girls', he started,'Why are you two up so early this morning? I thought for sure I would still meet you asleep.'

'Same as you. Apparently, we couldn't contain our excitement and wanted to get a nice view of the castle before training.' I answered.

Then I took a look at what he was wearing.

He wore a sea blue jacket with black trousers, the jacket was decorated with some slashes that was a darker shade of blue than the rest of the shirt.

'Nice outfits', Zayn said which made me stop looking at his outfit and instead looked at his eyes.

'Thanks, it's really nice. Yours looks great as well though.' I said showing off my combat suit with Iris joining me.

Zayn chuckled a little then looked straight into my eyes and said,

'Yeah, you look really nice in it'.

Immediately I heard this, I could feel a light shade of pink creeping up to my cheek. When he realized what he had just done, he quickly corrected himself.

'I mean... Uhmmm... You both look nice in it.'

While he said this he was using one hand to scratch the back of his head. Something he usually did when he was nervous.

We stared into each others eyes for a few seconds. His eyes were perfect, those sea blue eyes that looked like a beautiful ocean.

'We better get going before we're late for breakfast', Iris said interrupting my thoughts and bringing me back to reality.

'Oh... Yeah, let's get going', Zayn said,

'Where is it again?'

We looked around the corner then found a map of the castle.

'OK... We're on the second floor and the dining hall is on the first floor, two doors to the left.'

Iris said.

So we followed the directions and made our way to dining hall. When we got there it was already 7:59am, we opened the doors to meet the same large room with the wide dinner table in the middle.

Sitted there were all of our parents and siblings and on the table were different meals ranging from eggs and bacons to pancakes, omelettes, sausages and toast.

'Ah, there they are. Right on time. We were just about to send someone to get you.'

My father said in an ecstatic tone like he was happy to see us.

We just smiled and went to our seats, to my left was my sister Chrissy, to my right Iris and sitting in front of me was Zayn. Beside him was his sister and Aiden was sitting at his right side.

Aiden wore something similar with Zayn except his jacket was white with black slashes.

'Good morning', we greeted, they all answered and soon we began to eat.

After breakfast, our parents explained to each of us how long the training for each day will be and how it's divided into sections which our trainers would tell us more about.

We moved to the battle arena just a few metres away from the castle. We arrived there at 9:30am.

In the middle of the arena stood four people, one of which was a female. They each wore cloaks each having the symbol of one of the four kingdoms with different colours.

The woman wore a sea blue cloak with the water emblem on it, she had blonde hair and green eyes.

The man with dark brown hair and eyes wore a red cloak with the fire emblom on it. The other with blonde hair and icy blue eyes wore a crystal blue cloak with the ice emblem on it and the last man with black hair and green eyes wore a white cloak with the air emblem on it.

The woman was the first to speak,

'Ah! There they are. You guys were taking forever. Now, let's get started. My name's Coral, I'm one of the last generation of gifted ones from the aqua kingdom and I'll be training you Zayn.'

She said while looking in Zayn's direction with a huge smile on her face.

'Oh, uhmmm... Okay...', Zayn said a little taken aback.

'Calm down Coral. They aren't running away.'

The man in the red cloak said with a hint of amusement in his eyes.

Then he looked at Iris and said,

'I'm Axel, one of the last generation of gifted ones from the flare kingdom. I'm honoured to be your trainer Iris.'

'Nice to meet you but the honour is all mine.'

Iris replied and Axel gave a huge smile.

Then the man in the white cloak spoke,

'My name is Daniel, also one of the last generation of gifted ones from the mist kingdom. Its nice to meet all of you, I hope your progress is a lot better than Aiden's.'

He said with a smirk.

'Hey! I'm not that bad.' Aiden said defensively.

'Of course you  aren't.' Daniel said with an eyeroll.

'My name is Jaxon, the leader of the last generation of gifted ones from the glacier kingdom. I hope we can work well together Amelia.'

He looked towards my direction and smiled but his face was filled with so much authority and kindness, I didn't know if I should have been worried or happy, so I just replied saying,

'I hope so too.'

Then I thought of something,

'Wait a sec! If you're all from the last generation of gifted ones, doesn't that mean you are all from the royal family? Which means you're the first born child of each kingdom and...'

I didn't get a chance to finish my statement when Jaxon cut in saying,

'That's right Amelia. I'm your uncle and all of us here are royalty.'

'Oh'

That was all that came out of my mouth because I was still processing all the information in my head.

'Well then, now that we are all well informed. May we begin?'

Axel said.

So we started our training. Since Aiden was a month of training ahead of us, he and Daniel went to practice in the courtyard while we stayed in the arena.

'Okay... So today we're learning basic combat skills and that's what we're going to be doing for the next three weeks before we enter the second stage of training. Since Axel is better in combat, he will be the main instructor while the rest of us will be on standby but will be helping as guides.'

Coral explained to us and we nodded.

Axel taught us some defense positions and how to block an attack.

After three long hours of defense training, we went back to our rooms to wash up and relax before lunch.

After taking a shower and putting on some fresh clothes which was a knee length baby pink spaghetti hand dress.

Lunch was brought to the room by order of the Queen. After eating the maids took the food out of the room.

I laid on my bed thinking about the gifted ones in general. That's when athougt came to mind.

'Why are we called gifted ones anyway? We are all the same, aren't we? No special skill or power, just a crest on our shoulders.'
