Chereads / ENSNARED BY HIS STRANGE PROPOSAL / Chapter 14 - 14. The Strange Proposal 13

Chapter 14 - 14. The Strange Proposal 13

“Oh! My God!” He exclaimed, and stood up immediately. He walked briskly to the stage, and collected the Mic from the MC. Likewise, he looked at the thrilled audience, and smiled broadly as usual. Then, his beautiful set of teeth were revealed, and his handsome face beamed. At that point, he faced King Raphael Churchill VII, and kowtowed, before he greeted, “Long Live, my King.”

Although, the King was sad about the strange proposal, but he cheered up, and stretched his gold ring to him, “You may rise, son,” he said happily.

The audience clapped the more when he added 'son' to the lexicon. Apart from the audience, that was thrilled, Carson was as thrilled as his father. Incidentally, most youths preferred to dissociate themselves from their parents, and he was not an exception. So, his parents clapped like the audience. Nevertheless, Carson was still kneeling, and watched the cheering audience. When the round of applause died down, he requested, “If I have impressed my King with my event, I love you to say one or two words.”

Subsequently, there was silence in the hall, and everyone waited for the King's reaction. Not only that, the projector displayed him on the big screen. He smiled again while his family members looked on. Then, he stretched his scepter again, and accepted, “Your wish is granted, my son. You may rise.”

Although, the event was exceptional, but the King's endorsement would not be taken for granted. Carson rose joyously, and walked down the stage. Instantly, he took the wireless mic to him, and the Knight collected it from him. Nevertheless, he aimed the front of the microphone at the King's mouth and held it in the middle, and the King spoke, while Carson stood expectantly. “Thank you my, son for engaging your youth in a noble cause. I am proud to be your king. Keep it up.”

The short, but strong speech gave a boost to Carson's Entertainment Business. Now, the audience was not only clapping, but was ecstatic. Afterward, the Knight handed the Mic back to Carson, and he appreciated, “Thank you, my King, for the endorsement. I am proud to be your son. I am also proud to have you as my King. Thank you for the compliment.”

However, he would not leave without hearing from the Prince. Then, he looked at the Prince, and walked closer to him, and cheerfully stated, “I have a feeling that the Prince would love to say something.”

Nonetheless, the Prince, who was smiling happily, gave him an acceptance smile, and the Knight collected the mic from him again, and held it for the Prince to speak. “Thank you very much for this opportunity. The youths of our land are doing well, but you surpass them all. I look forward to your next event.”

Afterward, he collected the mic from the Knight, and appreciated, “I am humbled by that compliment, my Prince. I promise to do more.”

Now, he walked back to the stage amidst the clapping and standing ovation. Finally, he appreciated everyone. Meanwhile, the ladies had concluded that the Prince was divorced, and available.

“How do I get the Prince?” Fanny, Diane's friend, asked.

“Why do you want to get him? That is an impossible task.”

“I feel he is single, and may need a woman.”

“I wish you luck, but you are not a Princess. How do you think he would look in your direction?”

“Ladies and gentlemen,” Carson announced, and interrupted their discussions. They looked up to the stage and watched him give his closing remarks, and brought the event to a close.

“Can I return to my seat? I need to bid my friends farewell,” Mirabel requested.

“You are right. Let's go together,” the self claimed fiancé stated, and attempted to help her get up. Now, Pearl's attention was on Carson's speech, but Mirabel called Alfred's attention, “Don't concern yourself with that. The tutorial and acting are over.”

“Acting? Let's go,” he asked sarcastically, and held her hand.

“Pearl, I will be on my way. See you some other time,” she called Pearl's attention, and greeted.

“Okay, Mirabel. Congratulations once again. See you some other time.”

Mirabel smiled softly, and responded, “All right. See you some other time.”

“I will see her off,” Alfred informed, and took a step. She bowed to fate, and complied, and they walked towards her seat. To her surprise, her former dates, who walked out on her, and had chased her after she concealed her identity, and focused on her business, happily congratulated her, “Congratulations. Your union is blessed.”

“Congratulations. You are a perfect couple.”

Now, Alfred responded cheerfully to the compliments, while Mirabel simply maintained a happy expression.

“Thank you for your wishes. We appreciate.”

When they got to her table, her clients assumed that she had come to introduce her fiancé to them, and were delighted, and expressed their thoughts, “Oh, Mirabel, you made a perfect choice.”

“Thank you for the compliment. We appreciate,” Alfred answered – still holding her hand, and smiling. Meanwhile, she ignored the compliment, and appreciated, “I am honored by your presence. Despite the impromptu invitation, you still made it.”

“Thank you, so much, for believing in us.”

“We beg to take our leave.”

“Good night,” the clients greeted one after the other, and left. Meanwhile, she had to visit her boots, and close her staff for the day. Nonetheless, her workers, who had recovered from their initial shock, complimented, “Congratulations, boss.”

“We are happy for you, boss.”

She ignored them, and rounded up with them, while Alfred watched her. To get the pest, who may not leave her alone, off her shoulder, she chose to close at once.

“We are leaving,” she informed his Knight, who was following her from a distance, and picked her purse.

“Okay, Your Majesty.”

“We can take you home, if you don't mind,” Alfred hinted.

“I mind,” she responded politely, and headed towards the back door of the hall where her team parked their cars when they came. In any case, Alfred obliged, and walked her to the car. He opened the back door for her, and held it for her. After she took her seat, he gave her a peck on the temple, and greeted, “Good night, my love.”

“Good night,” she stated curtly, and he shut the door. He looked at her Knight and driver, who were in the front, and instructed, “Be careful.”

“Yes, Sir. We will,” they responded simultaneously.

“Good,” he said, and waited for them to move. As soon as they were out of sight, he began to walk back into the hall. To his irritation, he noticed the lecherous looks from girls, which was his reason for leaving his country. Now, he had no royalty or ego to protect, so, he had to be hard on them.

“Hi, handsome,” Diane, who was bold enough, to walk closer, greeted with a seductive smile.

“Hi, ugly,” he responded without an iota of gentlemanliness, and walked on. Diane was not just shocked, but wished she could vanish. Instantly, the lustful smile disappeared, and she looked around to ensure that no one heard him.

“Did he just say that you are ugly,” Fanny, her friend, who had eyes on the Prince, inquired.

“I don't think he was referring to me,” Diane covered up.

“It's okay. I will leave you. The Prince is about to leave. I don't wish to miss him.”

“It is all right.”

“What a loutish man!” Diane mumbled, and watched him walk on.

“Oh my God. He hid his boorish behavior when he was acting,” the lady he snubbed when she tried to be friendly, remarked.

Meanwhile, Alfred had kept the numerous girls who were on his way where they belonged, and joined Carson, who was off the stage on the table.

“Where is she?” Carson inquired.

“She has gone,” Alfred responded, but his face showed disturbed. Then, Carson requested with interest, “You look troubled. I hope it has nothing to do with her?”

“Not at all. It has to do with those untrained girls, who would not let me be.”

“Oh! Those girls? Even with your fiancée around?" He asked acerbically.

Nevertheless, Pearl, who was unaware of the fake tutorial, and acting, was listening to them. Then, she smiled, and consoled, “Don't let that to bother you. Now that you have been taken, they would let you be.”

“They better do,” he responded.
