Chapter 111 - Field Trip [3]

(Julian)

"We're… finally here," I exclaimed.

The entrance to the dungeon was nothing too grand. It was more like a hole in the ground with steps made out of this kind of brick material.

"You guys, be careful. All the other groups have already entered." Aliza warned.

In this world, dungeons worked pretty normally. Somewhere in the dungeon, there is an energy source that powers the whole thing. As long as the energy source stands, the enemies can regenerate.

"Hah… this is our chance to finally put what we've learned into reality," Beo smirked. He unsheathed his sword.

. . .

. .

(---)

"This is the dungeon, right? Where you sense our kin?"

"Correct."

Two figures in black cloaks stood about 20 meters away from the dungeon. They watched intently, looking as the students entered the dungeon.

"So what's the plan? We just destroy everything?"

"No, no. Gosh, you're so dumb. "

"I'm not dumb, woman. It's a reasonable thought."

"We have to do this quickly. We need to recruit our kin quickly and exit the place. There's no need to kill anyone we don't need to kill."

"Don't you know how many students are in that damn dungeon? How could we do it quickly?"

"Jeez! Just trust me. I have a [Cast] that would quickly neutralize our trouble."

Swsh!

The two cloaked figures dodged the incoming slash, their hoods coming off.

The [Sin's of Greed and Gluttony], Cherva and Yuna!

"I could sense you two from a continent away."

Arum pointed his sword out at the duo.

"Halt, now. If you explain yourself, I might just let you two live."

"Haah. To think we couldn't completely conceal our mana. Cherva!"

"Jeez. What are you yelling for?"

"Take care of this kid while I go find our target."

"Damn it… alright."

Yuna started to head toward the dungeon.

Arum watched, a little confused.

'Do they… not know who I am? The great Arum?'

"Not on… my watch!" Arum yelled.

Chervas stood in front of him.

"I'm your opponent. I can't wait to fight you!"

Cherva unsheathed his sword from under his coat.

Cling!

The two swords clashed. Sparks flew into the air.

[Cast: Will of Fire]

Cherva grabbed control of the sparks, sending them toward Arum.

He stepped back, parrying all the sparks.

"This kid is.. better than I-"

Slsh!

Cherva managed to dodge just in time, for the cut to be only shallow. Arum's blade managed to slice across his cheek.

"Ah… shit."

"You're weaker than I thought…"

Cherva held at his cheeks.

Arum thrusted his sword.

[Cast: Blaze Step]

"I think it's time for me to stop playing around."

Cherva avoided the incoming attack, the ground burning where he originally was.

'Fast!'

[Cast: Inferno Slash]

Cherva slashed at Arum's direction.

Arum raised his sword to block, but the force was intense, sending him into a tree.

"Ack!" he yelled out in pain.

"I played around too much and got you too excited, huh?" Cherva laughed. He walked over, toward Arum.

[Cast: Enhancement]

Arum's eyes started glowing, just slightly.

'I can't lose to… an unknown peasant like this!'

He got up from the tree.

[Cast: Flashstep]

In an instant, the distance between Arum and Cherva was cleared. It even caught Cherva off guard.

Clsh!

If Cherva was even a second late, his head would've been sliced off.

They clashed.

Cherva threw his sword as well, slicing in Arum's direction.

Again, they clashed.

They traded blow after blow.

While Arum was slowly starting to get tired, Cherva hadn't broken a sweat. He stood there, smiling.

"This is really getting fun!" Cherva smirked.

Cling!

Both Arum's sword and his stamina were starting to deteriorate.

'I have to… wrap this up fast!'

"I can see it in your eyes. You so strongly think you can win. Is this the highest level of insanity?" Cherva noted.

"Shut up!"

Suddenly, Arum faltered. He sent a swing too wide. Cherva saw the mistake, as well. His smile grew wider.

"You're skilled, definitely. But in a battle of attrition, I would come out victorious!" Cherva yelled.

Bsh!

Gervem crashed into Cherva, sending him out of balance.

"Ack!"

"Gervem, what're you doing here-"

"I had been looking for you, and could barely feel your mana signature-"

"You shouldn't have come! I don't need your help!" Arum quickly got up.

Cherva was still taking time to get up. That shoulder bash did a lot more damage than he expected.
