Anyway, that was how the mage expert was easily able to tell that Kuta was a mage as her body was taking in the mana around her. Once that was made known to them all the small and obvious hints had always been there for them to see and pick up on. It seemed true that despite something being so obvious that if you do not know what you are looking for or even to look for it in the first place. The answers no matter how simple or how obvious they might be could be staring you dead in the face but you would never know it. One can not get an answer to a question they never knew they needed to ask.
The question of is Kuta Sabre actually a mage?
That was something that never truly came up with anyone thus they came up with every answer they could think of but that one.
The answer to the question is that yes she was. Thus everything she did and could not do now made perfect sense.
Kuta was considered a swordmaster but when it came to her raw strength she was considered the weakest or one of the weakest ones in recorded history. There was much she could not do when it came to a contest of strength as she would always lose in those. That did not mean she was lax or skipped in her strength training overall it was just that she was not gaining strength that would typically be expected from her as a weapon user. If she was a actually a mage then that would make sense as there was nothing that said a mage could not have a finely toned a trained body after all from training like a weapon user.
However, having a lot of raw strength at their disposal was one of the key things about them that differed from mages. Because they were using their own internal mana as ki that strengthens their body allowing them to use more and more of the body's natural strength. The limits it normally places on itself to prevent it from just destroying itself are loosed as it can handle more and more over time after all.
As her father looked over Kuta as she just sitting there her mind had shut down from the information overload that it just experienced. He noticed that while her body was well trained she was merely well trained for a mage and nothing more. Her internal mana looking at it now was rather high for again a mage but low for someone who was supposed to be a swordmaster. Also, the limit of what her body should be capable of handling was not increased anymore than what it had and apparently, she had pushed herself so far past her limits. She could be considered lucky that her skin had been tanned and half of her hair turning white was the only thing that happened to her. Kuta was somehow using external mana to make up for her lack of internal mana and it had become such a passive ability of hers that she was doing it without her own awareness of all times of the day.
Though it seemingly stopped once she passed out strangely enough. The finer details of what kind of mage she might be were not up to the mage expert to tell them after all. That was not what they had been brought in to do as they were merely there to at least first prove that Kuta was not a mage and that the idea was laughable. However, the mage expert was having the second to last laugh on this issue. Why the second to last and not the actual last one well that is an issue that will come up and be explained in due time. However, the story at the moment is dealing with everyone learning that Kuta had been a mage this entire time.
With Kuta actually being a mage a lot of things that she did that seem strange all of sudden made sense now. The reasoning behind the girl's seemingly unheard of ability was that she was not actually a swordmaster at all at least not technically. She had the skills, knowledge, and everything that earned her the title of swordmaster however she herself was not one. Turns out she was actually a mage the entire time and what was doing was using external mana to replicate everything a swordmaster could do.
Thus Kuta did not tire because she was never using her own internal mana in the first place. So of course she would not get tired as a mage's ability to use mana outclasses a weapon users by far. When Kuta did get tried it was because she was reaching the limits of the external mana she could absorb and then use herself. Only then was she starting to use up her own stamina and internal mana which was also rather high naturally as a result of her unique training and experiences.
Kuta's father rather than looking at her as someone who was a mage that was raised and trained to be a weapon user thus all their efforts were pushed into using their magic as a replica of ki instead. A process where it took a lot of natural talent to channel mana in that method to replicate weapon skills and abilities in the manner that Kuta was doing. Her father instead saw it was a mage making a mockery of what weapon users were doing.
To him what he thought when the image of Kuta swinging her swords around in practice was not that of a swordmaster or even a weapon user practicing with and/or fine tunning their usage of their chosen weapon. What he saw was a mage playing with her wands as if she was trying to be something she was not even though nothing had truly changed in reality. Kuta Sabre was still the same person she was before it was just all the unanswered questions they had in regards to her now had answers. It was not the answer's fault that they were what they were as not accepting them was not going to change them. Nor should it change what Kuta had managed to do without the knowledge of her being a mage as once again she had managed to earn her titles and the family name based on her skills and abilities as weapon users that were merely using mana in a unique way that fully replicated ki. If her father and the other focused more on this fact they would have realized that Kuta can not use magic. Despite her ability to take in external mana, she was never once seen using it as magic as she was always converting it to replicate ki. Making so that Kuta is unique in that she can not actually use ki as even when she reaches her limits as a mage she still just converts her own internal mana into her replicated version of ki. Never once is she actually using traditional ki nor has she ever used magic as she was taught how to do so thus why would she know this?
