"People believe that"
"Enemy's friend is also an enemy"
"And to kill who you hate the most"
"You put their friend through agony"
"Argh" the man groaned in pain when one of Louis's men kicked him hard in the stomach.
"Take him inside the basement" Louis said and his order was fulfilled right there.
The men took the spy to the basement which was nothing less than hell for those who were once inside and for those who get to be inside it. They chained his arms to the two pillars. It was not that they were scared of him. The truth was that they were scared of him running away. The spy was badly injured and had wounds all over his body as he had been beaten with no mercy. Blood slowly started coming out from the wounds and fell on the ground drop by drop. There were bruises on his face. One near his right eye and the other close to his chin, both crimson purple. He was not unconscious but his eyeballs were covered by his eyelids. He could only take one step forward before the chains would pull his body back as if he belonged to them.
Jurin was looking at the man's terrible condition before they took him to the basement. This was not a new experience for her as she had already seen things like these in her past life. She got herself busy in the work. Cooked the food, cleaned the floors which were stained with dirt from the men's shoes and served Louis and Fredrick the tea.
She was in the living room picking up the empty cups from the table when a guy came rushing inside.
"Sir"
"Speak"
"Sir the spy is in a critical condition. I fear we might lose him and the secrets he contains if he doesn't get treatment right now" The guy told his master to which the mafia king gave him no reaction. He just sat there on the couch carelessly with his leg on top of another.
"We should call Mrs Ruby" Fred suggested
"No need. Let him suffer" Louis rejected Fred's good advice
"Sir but what about the secrets? If we lose him then you won't be able to find the box?" the man wanted to save the spy's life only for the benefits they would get from it.
"Ask Minnie to treat his wounds then" To Louis, the spy was like a key to the treasure they were looking for and he couldn't just let the key be gone to waste and so the job was passed to Minnie.
"As you say Sir" the man left the room and called Minnie. Telling her what she had to do he left and went to do what was his job.
Jurin headed outside with the tray of empty cups and saw Minnie standing near the basement with a box in her hands. Minnie used her eyes to communicate with Jurin and the language was well understood by the girl. She first went to the kitchen and placed the tray near the sink and then came back to hear what Minnie had to say
"Hold this" She gave the box to Jurin and hurriedly walked away to get something. On the other hand, Jurin curiously opened it.
Inside the box, there were many things used to treat wounds, cuts, scars and scrapes.
Bandaids, ointments, painkillers and a few other things were in the box. Minnie left from there and came back holding a bucket full of water and a piece of cloth in her hand. Minnie entered the basement and Jurin who was behind her followed. The basement was not dark. It was very bright but what they saw inside the place made the girls wish that the place would not have been so bright.
Blood of many people, not in the world anymore was on the concrete floor, all dried. The walls also had drops of blood spattered on them. Some were dark and some were almost invisible. While walking towards the captive Jurin who was wearing pump shoes stumbled over something which was a wooden stick. It was only then that her eyes caught sight of iron rods in a corner of the basement. Both of the girls walked towards the man. He wasn't able to breathe properly which was a result of all the torture he had been through. Minnie had only touched the man's shirt which was ripped from many places when the man's senses came into action and he growled.
He was like a fierce beast trapped in a cage. A cage from which he couldn't break free. He tried his best to free himself from the chains which kept him in their possession and the girls letted him try till not all his efforts went in vain. He was breathing heavily and the second time he didn't even flinch when Minnie lifted his shirt to examine the wounds. She took the piece of cloth and dipped it into the water till it was fully soaked. Minnie first cleaned the wounds on his body and when she had done that.
"Give me the ointment"
"Which one?"Jurin took out several different tubes of ointments from the box. All of them were used for different purposes.
"This one" Minnie took one of the ointments from Jurin and applied it to the wounds. The ointment made him feel a burning sensation and he groaned.
"Stop. Everything is alright" Jurin also rubbed the ointment on a wound of his
"Alright huh?" the man chuckled in pain
"I don't need your false pity. I know I am going to die and want to know the worse part. I am going to be killed by that rascal"The man said referring to Louis
"Jurin lets go. Our work here is finished" Minnie got up from there and brushed the dust off her skirt.
Jurin stared at the prisoner who was in a hopeless state. His condition was pitiable only for her but if she knew how many bad deeds he had done in his life then maybe the pity she was having for him would remain no longer. Her dark chocolate-coloured eyes shifted to the water in the bucket which was clear when Minnie brought it here and now it was strawberry red.
When Jurin and Minnie were leaving the basement they came across Louis and Fredrick in their way. Just sharing eye contact with them they went outside the basement while the two males went inside the torture room. Fredrick sat on a wooden chair in the room and placed one of his legs above another. The start of the show was going, to begin with Louis and if his friend gave him a chance then he could also play with the prisoner.
Louis went towards the man who was conscious and lifted his chin. The spy bared his teeth which were covered with plaque when Louis placed his gun under his chin to keep it in that position.
"Listen Mr unknown. You have revealed many secrets of mine to your master and now..." he pushed the gun harder.
"I want you to reveal a few secrets of your master to me"
The spy had an idea of what Louis wanted to ask from him but he didn't say a word. He was silent and only his eyes spoke his rage.
"I will only ask one question. If you answer it then I won't kill you but if you don't then I will kill you...painfully" Louis spoke and threw his gun which Fred caught straight in his hands. He picked up the wooden stick from the ground which was also the same stick which Jurin had stumbled over and asked him
"Where is that box?"
The spy who was loyal to his master didn't let a word come out of his mouth. He preferred to perish than betray him who was the reason for his family's existence.
Louis hitted him with the wooden stick and all he could do was bare the pain. After many more hits, Louis got nothing but the man in front of him got suffering.
"Alright then so you're not going to speak huh?" Louis went and grabbed an iron rod from the corner and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"You take the pleasure now" Louis gave the rod to Fred who got up from the wooden chair.
"You know very well what a big mistake you have made" Fredrick said and began to play with game with him.The game in which he was the hero and the guy was the villain who the hero would have to beat.
Louis exited the room and saw his guards chatting with each other. As soon as they saw his gaze on them they quickly assembled into their positions. Louis was tired to even scold him and went inside the living room. The air conditioner in the room was enough to cool Louis but wasn't enough to cool down his anger.
The spy was at the mouth of death after Fredrick's heavy attacks and was waiting for death when out of brightness emerged a figure. His vision was blurry and he couldn't see who it was. Thinking it was death he was ready to enter the slumber of eternal sleep but fell down when the chains on his arms were taken off. The figure unknown to him gave him support and led him outside the basement and then outside the mansion. The spy went with the figure to a long way when the figure left him in front of someone's mansion and from there they departed leaving the tortured man alone. The gates of the mansion were opened and the man who seemed to recognize the spy took him inside the mansion and closed the large gates.
