Chapter 18 - I know him

"She was healed"

"From the wound the man gave her"

"But now all of a sudden"

"She is William Anderson's new caregiver"

Just like the students who have to go to school after a long vacation Jurin was also back at work after a vacation of thirteen days. The wound took a little bit more time to heal than the doctor had told but she had no problems getting some extra days free from the maid duty. Sadly, yesterday was her last day as a holiday because today some very important people were supposed to come and she was to help Minnie in the preparation of the food and also clean the downstairs. After spending the entire morning busy at work the girls were finally free. The table was all set. The food was on the plates and the tissues were folded and placed next to the glasses. The windows were speckless and there was no spot of dust anywhere. The females were examining the interior just to see if everything needed was there when they heard a noise. The noise of a car's horn.

"You go open the door. I need to place the tissue box in the center" Minnie said and quickly went away.

Jurin on the other hand opened the door which was the entrance to the inside of the mansion. A black car in front of her eyes and from the inside of that vehicle stepped out a tall man. A peach brown suit covered the top of his body and black pants covered the bottoms. His stylish looking sunglasses hid his eyes. The golden hair shone when the rays of the sun fell on it. His watch was wrapped around his wrist. He was indeed an attractive guy.

"So he is Louis's friend" Jurin thought and held the door open for them when a man who was his guard came out and opened the trunk of the car. A wheelchair he took out . He placed the wheelchair down and opened the door which led to the backseats of the car. A person sitting over there. Louis's friend picked up the man and placed him on the wheelchair. This shocked Jurin. It wasn't the act of Louis's friend that stunned her but it was the person sitting on the wheelchair who struck her like lightning. Black hair and thick brows. There he was looking just how he used to. The only difference she saw was that his eyes which were once the precious sapphires were now the gray stones which no one cares for. He was dressed in a lavender colour shirt and white pants.

He had a thin jawline and some of his hair fell on his forehead. No expression on his face. Jurin was still in a state of shock when the men went inside without any greeting.

Glimpse of the past and his face entered her mind.

His smirks, his grins, his evil plans and her hatred towards him. She remembered it all clearly. He used to hate her and she used to hate him and now they meet again at a new place at a new time in a new life. His name left from her tongue silently in confusion

"Walter"

He was an old enemy of hers and this guy whom she just saw looked almost like him.

"Did he also get another chance?"she asked herself and closed the door when a crazy thought entered her mind.

"What if he's Walter's son?"she wondered

"But wouldn't that mean that the person who I have been thinking of as Leo's reincarnation is his son?"she turned around and started to walk as she thought this

"But it just doesn't make any sense then am I Julia's daughter or was I Julia?"she sighed not being able to understand the confusing system of reincarnation.

She walked to where the grand table was set for the guests with many questions in her head. The guy who looked like Walter was sitting on the chair near to Louis's right while Fred sat on the one close to Louis's left. The man dressed in luxury however sat at the end of the table facing Louis who was at the other end.

Jurin went and stood behind the chair of the king's best friend. He felt her presence behind him and asked.

"What are you doing?"

"Just here in case if they need anything" Fred didn't say anything further and joined the talk which was happening between Louis and an old friend of theirs.

"So William" Louis started and put a piece of steak in his mouth. After chewing on it and swallowing it he said.

"Making any progress?"

"William"she repeated the name under her breath to memorize it.

"No, sadly my caregiver died" William told him to which he smiled.

"You killed her. Iam proud of you Liam" Louis took a sip of the ice cold water and put the glass back at where it was.

"No,she died while crossing a busy road. A speeding bus hit her" he informed Louis about the real reason for her tragic death"

"So you asked your men to kill her. That is still impressive as you barely kill anyone"Louis pushed his plate away. He had eaten very little as today the lunch was quite earlier than his usual time. His life and all his tasks and activities used to revolve around a clock.

"Louis"William said in annoyance

"You know that I don't kill anyone and it is only Bryan who does the killing job and he only kills those who have done any wrong" William's good mood had been ruined by Louis's talk about killing and murdering people but of course you cannot expect the mafia king to teach you about being kind and having a big heart. He was kind and did have a big heart but only his actions showed that and never his words. Killing was his job but maybe there once was a time when Louis's thoughts were also similar to William.

"Well then your caregiver was definitely the wrong person to hire because look at you. Still the same. The doctors said that you could recover in about three months but you are still on the support of that wheelchair" Louis said making William look down at his feet. As if he wasn't already suffering Louis had to remind him that if he doesn't stand up on his own feet then he will never become independent.

"You are included in the top ten mafias of the country and do you know what people say?"he questioned. The discussion had taken a strange turn as with every line of theirs it seemed as if Louis was judging him and his disability which was his one is his weaknesses.

"He is the mafia!"Jurin's eyes widened

"Where is his gun then and where is his large group of men?. I only saw two men with him"Jurin stepped to the side getting a good look at William's face. She now understood why he and Louis were talking so much without any pauses.

"They won't say that you got a position in the list because of how dangerous you are. Their mouths will only say that he got the position because of his secretary" Bryan looked at the expression on William's face and quickly entered the conversation before his master's already broken heart could be shattered anymore.

"Louis sometimes it's in the hands of fate and not in the hands of the human being. Also if you care about him so much then I would like to ask if I can have your maid as his new caregiver" Louis raised his eyebrow making Bryan realize that he called Louis in an informal way which he didn't like at all. There was no relation between Bryan and Louis and Louis's darkened gaze was enough for him to correct his words.

"Sir I mean that you sound very concerned for sir William in a impolite way"he stopped in the middle of his sentence to glance at William.

"And if you are willing to help him then I guess we can start if you allow one of your maids to be his caregiver?"

"You're talking about this one. Aren't you?"Louis turned his head to look at Jurin who was behind him making her startled.

"Yes, I saw that she looked unfamiliar and thought that you must have hired a new one"Bryan told and his observations were right.

"Alright then she can become his caregiver but may I know for how long?"Louis inquired. His voice did not express that hint of anger any more.

"For two weeks. After that my sister will be coming to take the job"

"Okay then from tomorrow Jurin will be your new caregiver?"

Meanwhile on the other hand the small amount of questions he asked and the short info he gathered about her also how Louis accepted his request quickly made Jurin surprised. He didn't even ask for her permission and just gave her away like that. His behaviour was weird today and so was the conversation between the two friends in which Fredrick didn't have a word escape his mouth. His ears were listening carefully to their talk as he was the person who wouldn't jump into a conclusion before the fight ended and would also interfere or mendel in other people's business.

"Hey you bring your master to the living room" Louis ordered a guard of William to which Fredrick gave Louis a side eye.

"Don't worry I won't be rude to our dear friend"Louis cocked his head and Fred whispered to him

"When will you ever learn Louis?"

"Never"Louis walked away being followed by Fred and a gloomy William on a wheelchair.

Bryan was also to go when Jurin stopped him by asking

"When should I be present at William...I mean sir William's place?"

"Uhmm" he showed her his finger telling to wait for a few seconds before he told

"Our driver will pick you up at 12 am so be ready before the clock strikes twelve"Jurin nodded her head and hurried upstairs. Climbing the stairs she reached her room where Minnie was sitting.

"Didn't you go to get the tissue box?"was the first question which Jurin asked when she arrived in the room

"Yeah I placed it on the table and since no work was left I came here"Minnie answered

"I was downstairs serving the guests"Jurin said in irritation which came from the fact that she would have to be William's caregiver tomorrow.

"It's not like anyone asked you to" Minnie spoke placing the lead pencil and a light pink colour notebook on the side table. A lamp occupied most of the space but the notebook was still able to get enough space to prevent its fall. The air in the room was playing with the pencil making it roll from the right to the left.

"Also I just became William's caregiver" Jurin told her as she was going to learn about it anyway.

"What?"Minnie looked at the girl with confusion.

"What happened to Ashley?"

"Who is Ashley now?"Jurin countered question

"His caregiver"Minnie gave her a new piece of information about William which was of no use as the person who Minnie was talking about died.

"She died"

"That's sad but what William has gone through is even worse. The man is alive but somehow dead" Minnie stood up. She had to go to the bathroom urgently when Jurin asked

"What happened to him?"

"His girlfriend and him were the victim of a car crash in which his girlfriend didn't make it. It was also the same accident in which sir William lost the ability to walk. Doctors said it was temporary but..."Minnie knew that she didn't have to go on any deeper as Jurin could go to the depths of the rest by herself.

"Mind if I use the bathroom?"

"You can go" Minnie opened the door of the bathroom and went inside as Jurin sat in the bed fighting with her thoughts.

"So is he Walter's reincarnation or not?"

"Or are Walter and Leo their parents or not?"

"Also who is my mother? According to what I heard my parents in this life are dead but who were they?"Jurin pursed her lips

"Should I ask Minnie if she knows Louis's father's name?"The idea seemed much better and would clear a lot of doubts and so when Minnie took a step out of the bathroom Jurin inquired

"What is Louis's father's name?"

Minnie was left shocked by Jurin asking such a question and didn't know if she should answer it as Louis was always distant from his family. He barely visited them and they too would hardly ever visit. Even the guards were restricted by Fredrick for talking about Louis's family and his past. He was trying to save their lives for the sake of their loved ones because if Louis heard them then the consequences were better known by them.

"His surname is Robert and I think I heard Fredrick telling him to visit Mr J.R. . It's probably a codeword between the two. The R may stand for Robert and about the J we can only guess" Minnie said quietly

"Also don't let your tongue utter a word related to his family as you already had a taste of what he can do"Minnie warned her for the better good.

"By the way I was going to the kitchen to make tea. Do you want some?"

"Yeah. Also do you have some cookies. I need something sweet after such a bitter day" Jurin said dramatically. Minnie rolled her brown eyes and exited the room. The two maids had gotten quite close to each other but the two still hid what they considered to be not told by them to the other

It's great to know that he is not Leo's son"Jurin said to herself

Jurin's eye wandered the room in search of something to entertain her other than the television as the boring romance dramas were not catching her attention. She laid back on the bed when her eyes spotted the light pink cover notebook which was Minnie's belonging.

"If it was her diary then she wouldn't have left it like this"

"Let's see what this is"Jurin added and opened the notebook which was filled with sketches made from pencil. The sketches consisted of two girls together and one of them looked like Minnie. Jurin thought that she was only finding similarities between the girl drawn with pencil and the girl who went to make tea when she noticed the flower earrings the girl wore and how she had a mole on her cheek. She was now sure that t one of the girls was Minnie but she had no idea who the other girl was or could be.

In the same way she had no idea what life was going to be at William's place. Is the job of a caregiver different from that of a maid?. That is something she would have to wait to find out but that wait would be longer than waiting for the cookies and the tea to come in the room.
