Ryan's POV.
As we sat round the table, we conversed as we ate, moving from one topic to another. Well, this seems like an opportunity to get closer to June, as they say keep your friends close and enemies closer.
Getting admitted into the school is already a point one on my side, a step towards achieving what I have in mind. Well she doesn't seem like a person threat could work on and I also need to keep a low profile so as not to alert Xan.
I need him to let his guard down towards me because right now, I can clearly see that his guard is high up. Attacking June head on would be a terrible approach. Getting to know her and her weaknesses isn't that bad of an idea.
"So how long have you guys been friends?" I asked the two girls who seems to be closer than anything. June turned to look at me across the table.
"For a very long time now, since birth." She said. Although it was a tad bit surprising, it wasn't hard to believe.
"Wow, that's pretty long. No wonder you guys are so close." I said feigning surprise and admiration.
"So you guys like know what the other likes and dislikes and basically everything about the other person?" I asked with fake interest.
"Sort of, you can say that." This time, it was Luen who answered making me look towards her.
"Wow!" I exclaimed as though impressed. Maybe, this isn't so bad. It might be a good thing, I can get the information I need from this so called best friend who is pretty much loquacious.
"How long have you guys known each other?" I heard Luen ask, drawing me out of my thought.
"We'll, I've known them since I was five but they've been friends long before that." I replied with a little smile as I looked towards the boys. Xander didn't show much expression. Luka grinning,
"Yup, that's true and that's why we are best buds." he said as he crossed his hands over Xan's shoulder earning him a glare from the latter to which he just shrugged and continued grinning.
"I wonder why you guys didn't become a couple." I heard Luen say as she eyed both Luka and Xan making me choke on my meal.
"Hey! How could you say?" He asked wide eyed as he removed his hands from Xan's shoulder.
"Anything is possible." She said nonchalantly with a shrug
"He's my best friend and that all. Even so, definitely not him." He said as he looked at Xan in fake disgust.
"You mean if it was another guy, you would have?" Luen asked and I could feel the temperature drop as her gaze darkened. She does seem good at word play, nice.
"N-no, I didn't say that. I have my lovely girlfriend, why would I?" Luka asked nervously as he chuckled awkwardly.
"Really, but I wasn't your girlfriend then." She said with a smile that wasn't a smile.
"Hehe." Luka laughed nervously not knowing how to respond.
"You've got yourself in a big pot of soup." I said to Luka as June and I laughed at his ordeal. I hate to admit but hanging with them is quite fun to bad she had to be my competition. Tsk.
Luka looked to Xan for help but he just shrugged as though saying 'you got yourself into this, find your way out'. Luka looked wide eyed at his friend who just betrayed him without consideration. He looked tensed while Luen sat there munching on her meal. I looked at him and let out a little laugh. We continued eating with Luka trying to explain himself and Luen giving him a cold shoulder.
After we were done eating, we left the cafeteria together before splitting shortly as the boys went towards the field. I tagged along with June and Luen as they chatted and I butting in at certain points. Well it seems June isn't much of a talker, but this other girl...
Bzzt Bzzt.
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, I excused myself as I went towards the female toilet. On getting far from the others, I brought out my phone which had stopped ringing. Seeing the name written across the screen, a wide smile tugged my lips. I entered one of the free toilet cubicle and was about to place a call to the person when the call came in.
"Hello pretty." I heard the deep voice float through the air from the speaker.
"Hey Punk. I'm guessing you are back in the country?" I asked as my smile grew wider.
"Yup, yup. When are you treating me out, besides we have a long list of things to talk about." I heard the nonchalant voice answer.
"Are you bathing?" I asked as I could here slight sound of water dripping.
"Yup, I'm actually stepping out now. Too bad, I would have invited you to join me." The voice said making me roll my eyes.
"Okay, Royal garden by two tomorrow. I'll meet you there."
"Okie dokie. Who is she?" The voiced asked. Laughing,
"Just a little competition, you'll like her." I said with a smirk across my face.
Laughing, the voice said,
"Okay, I'll meet you there. Bye princess." I heard the voice say before a beeping sound came through. Well, it does seem like the cards have been set. I smirked before stepping out of the toilet, humming a happy tune as I tossed my phone without a care.
"Hey, Ryan right?" Halfway through the hallway, I heard a voice ask. Turning to the source of the voice, I saw two girls walking towards me.
"Yes, and you are?" I asked raising my brows in question.
"Ohh, our manners. I'm Stella, she's Jazmin." She introduced and the Jazmin gave a little wave.
Well look what we have here, I can tell from the way they speak and act that they aren't ordinary folks. This Stella does look arrogant, I wonder what they want. Who knows they could become my minions.
"Ohh, I remember you two from class." I said remembering why they looked familiar. "Well, nice to meet you." I said with a smile.
"You seem close to those best friends." She said with an insinuating smile ignoring my greeting. Seems I'm not the only one with a grudge I thought with an internal smirk.
"Not really, you seem to not like them." I stated pointing out that fact. Stella looked at me as thought suspicious of my word.
"We do dislike them, but if you are their friend, sorry but we won't be nice." She outed what I supposed was a threat. Chuckling,
"No worries there, I also don't like them. I'm just sticking around because of the boys." I said and I noticed the change in their expression. Tsk.
"You like the boys?" I asked. Jazmin looked liked one who had been caught doing wrong while Stella just glared at me. It was easy to discern who they liked.
"You know, I'm thinking, we could become partners Stella. No rush though, that's totally up to you. You get what you want and I get mine." I said with a smile that wasn't a smile as I looked at them taking note of their expressions.
They both seemed to be in thought much to my satisfaction.
"And what exactly do you want?" Stella asked as she eyed me suspiciously.
"That, you need not bother yourself about." I said with a slight smirk.
Smiling,
"As long as you stay clear of my business, we are good." I said patting her shoulder. "So are you with me in dealing with them?" I asked the two girls. Stella looked hesitant as she thought about it. Looking at her, I raised my brows asking for her reply.
"Well, you are better than that lowlife," after a short pause, "We are with you." I heard her say as a smiled bloomed on her face.
"Great." I said with a wide smile as I looked at the two. Well well June, get ready because this is doom at your service. I know they might be thinking that I'm being used but tsk I've got myself two minions, Lucky me. Game, set, action, let the fun begin.
