Chapter 13 - Charms class and Library

Cecilia: "Hey Val, what did Professor Snape say?"

Valerius: "Well..."

Avery: "Well, he didn't scold you for manipulating the potion in today's class."

Arulia: "Manipulating!?"

Oliver: "Yes, Valerius gave me different instructions from the professor, and the potion turned out to be perfect."

People looked at Valerius intently, waiting for an answer.

Valerius: "Well..." Valerius enjoyed maintaining suspense; he didn't like to give away surprises.

Nott: "Come on, Val, say something."

Valerius: "Alright, I don't like to give away surprises. Professor Snape praised me for making changes and said he would try making the same potion using my instructions to see the results."

Cecilia: "That's good news."

As the Slytherin friends had lunch, Adrian Prewett, a Gryffindor, approached Valerius and rested his arm on Valerius's shoulder.

Adrian: "Hey, Valerius, I saw you in the potion class, but you seemed pretty absorbed."

Valerius: "Yeah, I love brewing occasionally. So, do you like Hogwarts?"

Adrian: "Yeah, I'm getting used to it, although it's a sudden transition from being a muggle to a wizard. I think I can manage."

Valerius: "I told you."

Adrian: "So, can you introduce me to your friends?"

Valerius: "Friends, this is Adrian Prewett, the heir of the Prewett family in Gryffindor. I met him on the train to Hogwarts. Despite his pure-blood lineage, he's also an heir of one of the 28 sacred families. He grew up in an orphanage and is new to the wizarding world."

Nott: "Val, why are you friends with a Gryffindor?"

Valerius: "You're being childish, Max."

All the friends were a bit shocked.

Nott: "What? Why do you think I'm childish?"

Valerius: "Well, let's say you live 100 years. Only 7 years will be spent at Hogwarts, and the other 93 years will be outside Hogwarts without using the house name. Even if you become a teacher, you should not show partiality in teaching. Making friendships is tough, but breaking them is too easy."

Nott realized that he had been childish and looked down.

Valerius: "Sorry for that, Adrian."

Adrian: "No problem. We have this in Gryffindor too. Some students hate Slytherin's because their parents are directly or indirectly involved with You-Know-Who."

Valerius: "That's presumptuous."

Some Gryffindor's who overheard the conversation also agreed with Valerius. His last name kept people wary of him at all times, but some Gryffindors started to ease up on Slytherins.

After lunch, Valerius and his Slytherin friends headed to the South Tower.

At the Charms class, as students took their seats, the part-Goblin professor, Flitwick, began.

Professor Flitwick, the Charms expert at Hogwarts, may be small in stature, but his magical expertise knows no bounds. With a twinkle in his eye, he introduced himself to his students, proudly proclaiming, "I am Filius Flitwick, your Charms Professor. When it comes to charms, I stand head and shoulders above the rest."

This was encouraging for the students, as they knew they would be learning charms from a friendly teacher rather than someone as strict as Severus Snape. Flitwick noticed Valerius's eyes, filled with wit, and his thoughts wandered to two individuals: the prodigy witch Isabella Grindelwald and Gellert Grindelwald, the first-generation Dark Lord. He silently said, "A signature of a Grindelwald."

Soon, he pulled himself together and shifted his attention away from Valerius.

Flitwick "let's do our first spell, Lumos"

In short,

Valerius got used Lumos spell just too much, he dont even want to spell or use non-verbal concentration, if he thinks Lumos the wand automatically expel light at the end of it's tips.

Slytherin house gained 10 points, Valerius and rest of the first year Slytherin made 20 points today.

As Valerius casted Lumos, Professor Flitwick stared at Valerius's wand intently,

There is a important thing in history, the infamous dueler Flitwick who won the International Dueling competition 2 times in a row also took part in competition for the third time.

But the opponent was too strong for defending Champion to handle, in short

Flitwick, lost to a young boy who just graduated from Illvermorny school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Yes, the owner of the wand is none other than, Christos Alaire the Captain of Auror team in MACUSA, Lord of the House Alaire, The Champion of International Dueling Championship.

After the class, Ravenclaw went immediately to their dorms to study

Flitwick "Mr. Grindelwald that wand, is not yours is it?"

Valerius replied "You are correct Professor, this wand is my father's wand, since the wand accepted me, I never bought any other"

Flitwick "I see, do you know what are all the material used in the wand Mr. Grindelwald"

Valerius "50 house points professor"

 Flitwick "Fifty?"

Cecilia never expected a situation like this could occur.

Flitwick "That's a good one Mr. Valerius"

Valerius showed serious expression

Flitwick "Mr Grindelwald are you serious?"

Valerius "The world is never free, even living and dieing comes with a cost Professor"

Flitwick "50 Points to Slytherin, now tell me Mr Valerius"

Valerius "This Wand is originally my father's, he got it in the school of Illvermorny school of witchcraft and wizardry in the Wand selection ceremony, the wand consist of mixture of two woods and a Thunderbird tail feather core, which is more powerful to the supreme three cores and clings to Lightning and fire attributes well"

Flitwick "Good explanation another ten points to Slytherin"

Valerius "Thank you for giving our points to our esteemed house professor"

Valerius and the group of Slytherin's left the South tower,

Nott broke the silence "Val your are awesome getting 60 points easily it's not a easy task"

Avery "You are so cunning, you are definitely a Slytherin Valerius"

Oliver "Well, I want to concentrate on Flying classes"

Cecilia "You wanna compete with me on quidditch?"

Oliver "Sure"

Valerius "I would like to be in quidditch too"

Evergreen "Then we will make a Quidditch team for the Slytherin to win all the matches against Gryffindor"

Valerius and his minions went to their house and as they had lot of free time, Max, Oliver, Orion went to look around Hogwarts.

Valerius went to the Library.

Madam Irma Pince was siting in the desk drinking her usual cup of tea.

Valerius went forward and asked "Madam Pince were can I find the Seventh year book of spells?"

Pince "7th year, boy do you even know it's difficulty?"

Valerius "yes Madam Pince"

Pince "Ha, Children these days are so Ambitious, come I will give you one"

Pince went to the Year book draw and gave Valerius the book

Valerius borrowed the book for the week and left the library.

He got to the common room, soon Oliver found Valerius is taking 7 Th year book.

Oliver "Hey Val why are you taking a 7th year book? Are you going to learn 7th year charm?"

Valerius nodded and went inside his room and prepared to learn and practice the Disillusion charm.

Other members of the Slytherin were doing the homework bragging it was difficult.

Seniors were quite pleased with 60 points to the house, it was like a head start for the Slytherin.

Valerius completed all the homework in the class itself.

After few hours Valerius realizes something, a new method for casting magic, the words were chanted in Latin to produce a spell, what if we write Latin and use the spell instead?

Latin is just a tool for using magic and not the essence of magic it self.

Valerius "I will find a innovative method to caste a spell with out Verbal, non Verbal and wand"

Valerius sworn to himself in the room and continued to learn the disillusionment charm.

A week has passed,

He gained points in respective classes, he made himself busy with books in the library, submerged himself in books, which made his housemates feel depressed, not doing anything fun with Valerius.

Every fresher got used to the atmosphere of Hogwarts.

Meanwhile, Valerius learned to do the The Disillusionment Charm.

And succeeded in doing the Disillusionment charm for hours, it is more than enough to trespass into the restricted section of Library with out anyone noticing his presence.
