Chapter 34 - CHAPTER 33: ASKING FOR IT

ASKING FOR IT

Convincing Belle and Coco to go to the hospital was like convincing a goat to stop eating grass, they strongly stood against the idea.

Anne did not understand why they were refusing. She had to, literally, drag them by their arms, hailed down a taxi, pushed them inside. She asked the middle aged driver to drive them to the nearest hospital he could find.

The driver was looking at the ladies using the front mirror, he was wondering what caused the bruises on these pretty ladies faces.

He dropped them at a nearest hospital he could find, they entered the hospital.

As soon as they arrived, They were attended to by two nurses. "They were attacked by wolves, I was the only one that managed to escape the attack but they weren't so lucky, please take care of them."

The nurses eyes held confusion in them. It was unheard for wolves to attack people, this was a residential city not a forest. They found it hard to believe Anne but they didn't voice it out to her, instead they took Belle and Coco to a nearby ward, "hope you have your identity card with you," the nurse attending to Coco said.

Anne widened her eyes, before gasping, "I didn't come with it, we were just going out for dinner before the attack. But we work for Astro world games," she said, hoping it will be enough for them.

"Ok, go to the front desk and discuss with the matron but this one here will need the an x-ray examination," referring to Belle.

Anne left her friends with the nurses, heading for the front desk to settle the bills. Anne's blue eyes wandering around the hospital, seeing the residents in the hospital. Although it was night but the hospital was still blooming with life. Patients and nurses alike were walking around.

She reached the front desk, directed by the matron, she was able to pay off the bills. Coming back, she was surprised to see Belle pushing the nurse away.

Anne moved closer to her,"What happened?"

"I wanted her to come with me for an x-ray scan but she refused, telling me to go screw myself," the nurse complained.

"I'm cool with this whole dabbing and poking at me with needles, but taking me for an x-ray scan, that is a big no no for me," Belle explained.

Belle, Going for the X-ray scan would reveal what she was to the doctors and she was not going to sacrifice herself to those scientists, who will joyfully take her, willing or not, she will be used for their stupid experiments.

Sitting in a hospital chair, Coco was not really bothered with Belle stubbornness, she was already used to it.

Sighing, Anne knew Belle was not give in to common sense, she asked, "Apart from the x-ray scan, is there any more treatment to undergo?"

"No."

Immediately the nurse said the word "No" Coco stood up from the chair, heading for the entrance door, with Belle limping behind her.

She thanked the nurses for their services and followed suit after her housemates, they were waiting for her outside the hospital.

"Thank God that ordeal is over, I hate the smell of antiseptic," Belle gagged.

"Hope your mind is settled now Anne? Coco drawled.

Truly, she had weirdos as housemates, who will be angry that someone, feeling concerned for her friends, that she brought them to the hospital and paid the bills to make sure they are well and safe? Of course, her housemates.

Belle was busy complaining about the hospital while Coco was just sitting down inside the taxi on their way back home, not saying anything. Infact, her gaze was fixated on the road, not staring at anything in particular, her mood was unreadable to Anne.

Why do they hate hospitals so bad? She wanted to ask but the mood right now was not fitting.

They arrived safely at their destination, Coco paid off the taxi. When Anne entered the house, she was feeling sleepy. Yawning, she peered at the wall clock, it was eleven past eleven, way past her bed time. She went straight to her room, fell tiredly on the bed before snuggling herself under the bed blankets and went off to sleep.

When she woke up the next day, she knew she was a dead meat, today was going to make it the second day she resumed and she was late, it was already ten minutes past eight, meaning that the official bus had come and gone without her.

It was also strange that Coco did not see it fit to wake her, "is she still angry with me because of the hospital episode?" She said loudly, she refused to let it bother.

She freshened up, wiping her body with a towel before picking out a black skirt, a pink shirt and a black lightweight jacket to match.

She rushed out of her room, a black purse and her shoes in her hands before she hurriedly wore her shoes.

Surprisingly, she noticed the door to Coco's room was standing ajar, she peeped inside and saw Coco laying still on the bed, sleeping.

Should I wake her, what if I wake her and she is still angry with me, Anne struggled within herself, she willed her mind and walked up to the bed, gently tapped Coco on the lap.

Coco woke up with a startled gasp from her lips, she raised her head to gaze at Anne, "I am late, aren't I?"

Anne nodded her head, "yes, it is already past eight, almost close to nine."

"That means you must be running late, I will go and wake Belle but you need to start going. Let's just hope Mr Richmond is not yet at the office, if he is, then you should kiss your job goodbye, now go."

"See you later," Anne said before rushing out of the house.

Luckily for her, she was able to see a yellow taxi closed to the housing unit, she stopped the taxi and entered.

Almost getting to the office, she noticed a shiny blue car, it appeared posh and expensive, she was admiring the view of the car as the taxi drove past it.

That scent, it is her, the unknown being inside Richmond spoke out. Richmond was almost consumed by the darkness before he perceived the scent that has been tormenting him for quite sometime now.

Richmond knew she was in the taxi, he could see her face clearly as she stared admiringly at his car.

"What the hell is wrong with me?" he said, sweating profusely. He was trying to keep his sanity from slipping away.

Suddenly, he felt an unparalleled urge to get to her, he wanted to feel her near him. The urge was too strong, he was finding it hard to control it, he uplifted the car lock down, opened the door and walked out from it. His eyes were still red but he didn't care, Richmond wasn't really himself at that moment.

Walking slowly to her as a tiger stalking his prey, he walked up to her as she was stepping out of the taxi.

When Anne saw him, she became scared. Her whole body stilled with tension, "Sir?"
