Passing through the eerie silence of the night, Auron walked without a hint of fear, carrying a torch as a guide as he ventured into the dark forest. Soon, he realized that he was not on this journey alone; he was accompanied by terrifying creatures born from eternal darkness, also known as the soulless.
They were real manifestations of darkness, attacking anyone they encountered and stealing their souls. With his longsword at the ready, Auron prepared to face the horde of evil beings. He parried and countered their relentless attacks, managing to hold his ground. However, he knew this was only the beginning, and greater challenges lay ahead.
Continuing on, Auron made his way towards the River of the Dead Men, a river that ushered the departed souls. But his path was interrupted when he saw a man resting by a warm campfire.
"Hey, knight, come here," the man called out to Auron.
Auron approached and sat near the man, listening to what he had to say.
"Are you lost? If so, I am too. What are you searching for here?" the man inquired.
Auron proceeded to explain his quest.
"Oh, you're searching for your lost soul? I've heard stories from the elders about soulless individuals in ancient times. They're like walking dead, but I don't want to get involved, so I'll pray for you," the man said.
He then offered Auron a drink, but Auron declined.
"My apologies; I thought you might enjoy some alcohol. So, where are you headed?" the man inquired.
Auron revealed his destination.
"Oh, the Peak of the Lost Soul, huh? It's quite far, and I've heard there are guardians protecting that place. So, be cautious," the man warned.
Auron nodded, bid his farewell, and quickly departed.
"Oh, wait, I want to give you something," the man said. He reached into his pocket and handed Auron a compass.
"Take this; you'll need it. Safe travels, knight," he said.
Auron accepted the gift and continued his journey. Before long, he arrived at the River of the Dead Men, where he saw a mysterious figure cloaked in black robes, covering his entire body.
Approaching the figure, Auron handed over the ancient coin and promptly boarded the boat. During the journey, the robed man said something cryptic.
"A lost soul can never return," he stated, leaving Auron puzzled and curious. Nevertheless, Auron decided not to dwell on it and remained focused on his mission. After a while, they finally reached a small dock, devoid of any inhabitants.
"Meet Madam Fortune if you wish to know something," the robed man advised.
Auron nodded and hurriedly departed from there.
