Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Upon reaching the dock, Auron continued his journey through a narrow dirt path, where all he could see were the ruins of houses. He wasn't sure what had happened, but he believed that there was life around this place. Feeling tired from walking for so long, Auron decided to take a short rest to catch his breath.

Unexpectedly, a man ran towards him, seeking help in fear.

"Oh, adventurer, please save us from the monsters!" he pleaded.

Auron immediately stood up and headed to the place the man mentioned. When he arrived, he saw a small settlement being ravaged by monsters and wild animals, with corpses scattered everywhere. Without wasting any time, he launched an attack against the dreadful creatures.

Their large numbers made the battle challenging, but Auron refused to give up or leave anyone behind. Despite getting injured by the monsters, he continued fighting and managed to stop them, allowing the villagers to be saved. After the prolonged battle, he finally had a chance to rest, and of course, he received their gratitude.

"Oh, thank you, adventurer! How can we repay you?" they asked.

Auron explained his purpose and asked for the location of Madam Fortune.

"It's indeed a long and dangerous journey. Alright, I will tell you where she lives," the man replied.

The two of them walked to a secluded place outside the village, where they found a shabby tent belonging to Madam Fortune. Without hesitation, Auron entered the tent.

"The lost soul has come," he announced, explaining his purpose in detail.

"Very well, to reach the Peak of the Lost Soul, you must pass through several dangerous areas. First, the Cemetery of the Undead; second, Baron Valcos' domain; third, the Dungeon of the Seven Sins; and lastly, the Tower of Condemn," Madam Fortune revealed.

Auron nodded to indicate that he understood.

"Are you sure? You could forget about your soul and sleep in your dreams," she warned.

Although Auron didn't fully grasp her words, he remained determined to find what rightfully belonged to him.

"Very well, in that case, take this," Madam Fortune handed him the Pendant of Purgatory Flame. It was an artifact capable of burning away eternal darkness, ensuring Auron wouldn't lose his way. He thanked her and quickly left.

After Auron departed, Madam Fortune spoke about fate.

"Oh, unfortunate soul, destiny is absolute, and you cannot change it."
