Chapter 36 - Chapter 31: A little reflection

Nyasaland Lusaka

Pillar Facility

BOOM!!

BOOM!!

Chimwemwe Cacar was currently letting loose on some practice dummies and letting his electricity loose onto them. The facility had made renovations thanks to all the funds they had received in the past years and in recent times. Now that instead of being one giant room where the pillars train there are multiple rooms built for different training exercises there are some that are still under construction.

Chimwemwe had fired another lightning attack at the dummies destroying a good some up of them while launching his lightning spears at them. He then gathered energy in his hands and after a little bit of time it formed into a big electro ball about his size. He then threw and destroyed the rest of the dummies and a good bit of the floor too and the others could literally feel what he was up to. It was a good thing the training floors were custom made, otherwise it and the whole facility would have been gone.

Chimwemwe clicked his tongue at how slow the last attack was for him to charge up and use. His hands shook as he remembered the incident with the buffalo man and he subconsciously made an electromagnetic field and the remains of the dummies with metal components began moving around the room.

Chimwemwe pov

I made my electricity run across the room as I thought about the bull man who almost got me a couple of weeks ago. The man outmatched physically to a high degree, could also tank my attacks and still keep on going like there were nothing like mere inconveniences.

In most of the fights I've been in if the person outclasses me physically and am sure the buffalo man's quirk gave him an increase in durability letting him tank my attacks like there were mere nuisances. That was the biggest problem, as whenever someone outclasses me physically, I relay on my electricity finishing them off as I purely believed that unless they had a durability quirk or their quirks gave them a boost in durability as I bi-product. But that was incredibly stupid of me.

I keep on forgetting sometimes that I was in an anime world and logic is simply thrown out the window whether I liked it or not. Even though my quirk was instant death in my old world, here someone could dodge, tank, or deflect it whether they had the ability to do it or not.

Even though I didn't want to be a hero I'm still getting roped into combat situations, first with a terrorist group, then with gangsters and from what uncle J told me that guy was a former mercenary.

My hands shock and my breathing get heavier. That man could have actually killed me in that battle even though he seemed to already have crippling injuries and even more from what I observed. If he were heathy no doubt he would have killed me instantly.

I got my breathing under control and noticed that I had subconsciously released a high amount of voltage and a lot of metal components were flying around wildly. So, I lowered my output and placed them back on the ground.

I walked to the wall and sat down while leaning on it while looking at all the dummies I destroyed along with the wall and floor. So far when it comes to arsenal in the attack category I didn't really didn't have that much going for me compared to my more practical uses.

"Hell, I don't think I've ever used my magnetic abilities in a battle before, save for sticking to surfaces." I thought to myself. Guess the I should start being more practical in battle too.

I magnetically pulled a small metal component of one of the dummies towards myself and made it just float in front of me and looked at me intently. I remembered the abilities I inherited (not counting my deceased mom and dad). I made a gun gesture as I remembered the railgun attack of Misaka Mikoto. I don't know how exactly she created the technique but I do understand she used electromagnetism concepts to develop it.

I brought it closer to me and flicked my finger, launching the metal piece across the room at fast speeds but it was nowhere near the level of what I've seen Mikoto do in the anime. I used the concept of attraction and repulsion of magnets for that but it looks like there's more to it than that.

Maybe while I am at it I should try replicating the Chidori from Naruto. Not an original idea for a reincarnated electric or lightning user to replicate it but I think I could overcome its tunnel vision drawback with my micro-radar technique.

I heard the room door slide open and much to my surprise I saw the number two hero Kuyaka wearing her signature outfit enter the training room. I was so surprised my eyes widened a bit and didn't know what to say.

"Oh my." She gasped a bit as she looked at my handy work but her eyes landed on me and she sported a warm smile and walked over to me and I stood up. "Hello young man my name is Mervis Giva but I bet you probably know me as Kuyaka which is okay for you to call me by." She stretched out her hand for a handshake.

"Hello Kuyaka, my name is Chimwemwe Caçar. Nice to meet you." I introduced myself and shook her hand with my left hand while holding my right wrist.

"It's nice to finally truly meet you too, Chimwemwe. Her smile brightened.

"Wait, you wanted to meet me?"

"Oh yes the first time I met the pillars you at Limbi but you weren't around though we did exchange a hand wave before you all left but my daughter Nova did talk about you a little bit but I mostly heard a lot about you from the Sosala family."

"Wait Nova talks about me?" There are times I forgot that Nova was Kuyaka's daughter due to her rarely bringing it up in conversations and Suiw did say her mom makes some outfits for Kuyaka. "I hope the Sosalas say nice things about me."

"Well don't worry nothing major but Suiw does often say you're an aunt's boy." She chuckled a bit and grunted a bit in displeasure at that. "It's okay you can continue resting and can see that you had a very busy workout."

"Okay thanks." I than sat back down and leaned on the wall and she sat down next to me. "Am glad you wanted to meet me and all but is there another reason wanted to meet men?" I asked and she hummed and turned to me and looked me straight in the eyes and her warm brown eyes seemed to be turning to look into my soul.

"Well, Chimwemwe there's something I wanted to personally ask you if you don't mind."

"Um well long as it's nothing too personal I don't mind answering."

"Don't worry it won't be too personal. I'm sure your aware of that the main mission of this whole establishment is to train the future to heroes to led the country into a greater age." I nodded at her statement and having a feeling I know where this conversation is going "I heard from little Suiw that you didn't want to be a hero."

"That's right, I don't want to be a hero."

"So, if I might ask, then why are you here?"

"Um well I was originally volunteered to join the project by Mr. Sosala but my aunt was about to reject the offer but they stated they would offer me good opportunities to go to a good college."

"Thinking about college already isn't you still in primary school." She looked at me in surprise.

"Hey it's just I live with my aunt Minerva and even though we live comfortably she works extra overtime with her job sometimes and college can get expensive unless their public colleges but you know how most them can get in this country so I thought if I went all in with this I could make the load easier for her." I answered her question and saw her smiling brightly at me. "Uh what's wrong."

"Nothing, I'm just happy about your answer and happy you have so much love for your aunt and grandmother."

"Thanks, it's nothing major." I blushed a little bit.

"No need so embarrassed Chimwemwe loving your family." She giggled. "And for the other request. I wanted to personally see your quirk in action." She than got up and began to walk out the room. "Well, I should leave you to your training thank you for answering my questions."

"Okay bye it was nice to meet you Kuyaka." I said my goodbyes as she left. Human psychology wasn't my thing but I had a feeling that Kuyaka was evaluating more than just my career choices but I let it go as she didn't ask anything big.

End of pov

Kuyaka was just walking to another room to check on the next pillar. The hero commission wanted to send a hero to inspect the facility and she volunteered to go. She had scheduled a visit to see if this project wasn't being too pushy with these children and not forcing them to partake in more problematic experiments which might be a little hazardous to them.

The biggest reason was to evaluate Chimwemwe a little bit who may be a part of the Gato de Galho tribe, which brought some concerns. So far, he gave her brief reminders of the flame disaster when they first met in limbi, the resemblance too canny. It was why she took the chance to volunteer before the task fell to Inkosi and Dahomey.

'He seems like a nice boy though but from the explosions I was feeling and the aftershocks I felt it might be best to keep him close.' Kuyaka thought but she wondered if the other disasters had children or relatives out there which also have some capabilities as them. The thought gave her a slightly unpleasant feeling as she didn't think Nyasaland could survive another calamity month.

She entered a training room and so Lusungu lifting a large and heavy weight with his gear eyes turning like clogs. Then the gears suddenly stopped turning and she saw his teeth grit hard and arms began to wobble. She attacked and shot a yellow beam knocking the weight away from him.

Lusungu looked at confusion and turned at who shot the blast and his eyes widened as he saw the number two again.

"Hello Lusungu it's nice to meet you again." She smiled at the young boy.
