In the base
It's been three days since Chimwemwe woke up and has now been discharged from the base since he has regained consciousness meaning his quirk was under control.
Currently in Patrick's office looking at information which their researcher had provided on Chimwemwe.
"Truly impressive." He mumbled to himself as he looked through the tablet. It said that the boy could produce over 4 million volts of electricity and was estimated to get stronger over time. They also checked his physiology and found it was more feline-like.
This all could be problematic.
From what he got the boy was a Caçar meaning that he had the same blood lineage as one of the five disasters. Not only that he possessed a quirk similar to his trouble making father Simon who constantly hacked their systems just to troll them.
Multiple thoughts went into head and as wrong as it was to think like this but the child could be a potential disaster in the future if he was left unchecked.
"What is it with the kids nowadays?" He sighed and put Chimwemwe's picture along with nine other special children in a special file in his tablet.
He then heard a knock at his office door.
"Come in." He answered.
In came a black woman with a tall and athletic structure, short long dread hair in a ponytail, grey eyes, and wearing a black bodysuit with a gun strip to her waist.
"Agent Kazi." He greeted her.
"Commander, I have news on how the boy was killed. At first I thought it was the Lady Mamba but the poison used was too weak to be here so we deduced that it might have been the toxin twins. " She revealed.
"Those two again." Patrick gritted his teeth as glad as he was that I wasn't someone who was basically the top assassin of the country but the toxin twins were still a problem.
"I know that Kujtenge is behind this as Mr. Umar has been one of the many most involved in taking them down. But they're willing to go this far just to spread a message again." Agent Kazi wondered about the reckless move.
"It's not just that it's like what they did 6 years ago when they kidnapped those children at the party. They want to boost their reputation so that they can gain the attention of more potential allies but also try to reclaim the fear factory they once had."
"But sir, someone must be funding them as we both know the mamba brothers are extremely expensive. Even with their organ harvesting money I doubt they're willing to use what's their life support money just to spread a message."
"Your right agent, someone MUST be supporting them, someone in a very high position."
"Should I continue keeping tabs on Anansesem just in case?"
"Yes, as who knows what that trickster might be up to." The agent nodded and left the room.
In Lusaka
In Matilda's gym
Outside of the gym we find Minerva wearing her spotted gym attire. She had just finished her work out and was currently waiting for Matilda to be set to close the gym for the day.
"Okay all done for the day. Now let's go see Chimwemwe." Matilda said as she looked up at the gym.
The two got in Minerva's BMW and drove to her house.
"So how's Chimwemwe been recovering?"
Matilda asked as she drank some of her friend's Thobwa.
"Oh he's recovering great actually."
"Though I'm surprised you decided to come for some yoga at the gym today. I thought you would be guarding him with your life right now."
"It's because ama is at home with him."
"That explains this really good thobwa."
"Yep she came over right after he was released from the Takhar base and volunteered to watch him while I finish this modelling thing." She was glad they were out of there as she felt a little on edge at the place.
Matilda chuckled as she never thought her friend would ever take a modelling job of all things. " You know Sosala lady likes you a little too much Minerva."
"What are you on about now?"
"I don't know from inviting you to parties, a kitchen party to asking you to be at a fashion show. Is she trying to take you away from me?" Matilda formed a sly eye.
"Stop with that she's a you drama most of those just happened once at least." Minerva giggled. "And besides, shouldn't you like her more? I mean she pays a lot for you to give her daughter lessons, right?"
"Hm you're right and besides now that the girl is a little famous now that maybe her name will bring more business to my place."
"Child exploitation now huh~."
"What me no~." She denied the accusation. "So how did the discussion go with the Nguzu parents?"
"Oh it went fine-ish but I'm just glad Joseph told me more of the story which Chicky left out." Minerva sighed at the part of the story which involved the children using quirk boosting drugs for their vigilantism.
Fear took over her as she thought Chimwemwe might also be taking some but Joseph reassured that he was clean. Of course she wanted a test which they did before. She talked to her nephew and asked for answers which he complied and stated that was why he wanted to get Matthew out of that group.
She was a little mad he hid this from her but she understood that he didn't want his friend to get into more trouble. 'Huh the no snitching rule.' She did it all the time when she was younger.
But after that she went to the Nguzu household to have a chat with them. At first the two parents were scared that she went over there to sue or was there for blood and as sadist as it sounded she did find it amusing. But she quickly cleared the air and told them she came to tell them about their son's drug use and that was that.
"So how are things between you and Joseph or you're too busy with your sugar momma~."
"Matilda!"
"Hey again I'm just saying that woman likes you a little too much." Matilda shrugged her shoulders and Minerva shook her head.
They got to Minerva's home and once she opened the electric gate they were greeted by the sight of a giant humanoid lioness lay on the lawn looking amused while watching a bandaged Chimwemwe who was bandaged on his forehead and arms laying on her with a guitar in hand with a confused look on his face.
"Hmm it's been a while since I've seen that." Matilda commented looking at the lioness.
"Oh Ama." Minerva sighed.
That night at the Nguzu household
WACK!
WACK!
WACK!
The sound of Mr. Nguzu beating Matthew with a stick and the boy screaming with tears streaming down his face even blew his trunk a little. He had whacked a total of 4 times.
Mrs. Nguzu was just by the door watching the whole thing. Normally she would have told her husband to go easy on him but she was also angry at her children. They planned to talk about this after things had settled down a bit since another boy did die and her boys were probably shaken. That changed when Ms. Caçar (who she thanked didn't come to get back at them for their child putting hers in danger) told them about the drug use.
But it also confirmed that both of her kids planned to keep it a secret and not tell them about it. And would likely keep using them.
"MATTHEW WHAT WERE YOU THINKING GETTING INVOLVED WITH NOT ONLY VIGILANTISM BUT YOU WERE ALSO TAKING ON DANGEROUS DRUGS!!" Mr. Nguzu yelled.
"I'm sorry." He said with tears coming down his face.
"You're Sorry! Matthew It was Ms. Caçar who informed us about this not you meaning you likely were going to use them again. Tell me what was going on though your head boy!"
"I-I just wanted to be a hero like All Might and Inkosi." Matthew answered.
"All might." Mr. Nguzu sighed in frustration when he heard that name. He knew about his son's hero infatuation but it was the Japanese hero which really turned it up. "Matthew, it's time you be realistic. The quirks which All Might and Inkosi have make them do things which people can't imagine, especially All might. Your quirk isn't meant for hero work, that's just it.
But that's why I work hard to send you to St. Teresa but you keep on getting low results wasting away your chances! Why can't you be like your two friends who are in the A class Chimwemwe and Suiw."He finished.
Matthew looked extremely hurt by his dad's words. Sure he's quirk was weak but the inhaler helped him perform feats he couldn't imagine like fire a sound attack from his trunk and they also helped him feel great.
"Matthew." Mrs. Nguzu spoke for the first time. "Your father might seem harsh but we're only trying to help you. That's why we sent you to a school like St. Teresa. For you to get a good education so that you can get to a good college than find a nice job." She said softly and Matthew just didn't answer.
"You're lucky you only got suspended and not expelled. This nonsense ends today Matthew. We will discuss more on your punishment in this suspicion time later. " Both the parents left for Peter's room leaving Matthew crying on his bed.
'Be like Chimwemwe and Suiw.'
That was all he heard as his parents left the room. His dad always compared him to them every chance he got but Matthew himself could never be like them no matter how much he tried. He can never be as smart or as strong as them and all in all his quirk was nothing compared to them.
