After checking them out. He decided to strike up a conversation. Before he could Lucky beat him to it
"This Chub here is Quinn he has no last name been a orphan since birth. His mom died in childbirth and the Waylon Charity organization took him in.". He the. pointed at the Asian girl. "She's Renee Lexion she joined the orphanage a little over two years ago. Her parents died in the hands of Joker."
"And lastly there's there's Brock Lesnar he's from the Caribbean islands. His family was murder infront of him. He was captured and to be sold in slave trade. He was actually rescued by Superbman. However he made his way here. He always said destiny lead him here. Saying the hero who would lead him to avenge his family would show up here. I believe him too. He says a guy named Fate told him so. Weird name if you ask me but who am I to talk right " Lucky said while laughing.
Alex just nodded along trying to be friendly. However he did decide to ask about their power at least. "So what are your Meta Powers? Since I asked I'll tell you mine first. I can heal small wounds and fractures and walk on air."
"Well you already know mine." Lucky replied.
"Mines I become stronger the more food I eat. However I can only store a certain amount of energy per day and I slowly lose it throughout the day causing me to snack a lot." said Quinn in a slightly nasally voice. Alex nodded at him.
"I can shape shift into a dragonic semi human. However I can only due it for two hours a day. After the I finish I got to eat hot coals to recharge my powers. I also have a slight attraction to shiny things." said Brock Lesnar in a deep hollowed voice
"I guess that only leaves me". replied a Suger Sweet voice of Renee. " I have the power to affect the weather make it rain harder, control lightening when it struck naturally. I can even create a 5 inch tornado. It's good for sweeping the floors." Alex was amazed that sounded even cooler then his own powers. She could control the weather that's actually overpowered.
" Your ability is soo cool !!" Alex said in amazement.
Renee ears grew red from the compliment "I wish everyone else thought so. I never asked for these powers. However now I'm treated like a freak everywhere I go. My old friend all abandoned me. Even my boyfriend broke up with me. Even though I randomly got my power less then three months ago!" she said in a crying voice.
Lucky walked over and patted her on the back. He just nodded his head so did the others. They all experienced being ostracized by their old friends. They knew the curse the bore due to their powers. They even knew two orphan that turn to a life of crime because of it. They were bullied and harassed so often the decided to take revenge. One of the two was caught by Owlman. However the other is said to be in the underground crime syndicate.
"We've decided to call ourselves the Meta-Orphans!" Lucky said while bouncing around in joy. One day we'll also be superheros. We will save and protect the innocent. Suddenly all four of them put their hands in the center and yelled "No kids left behind!"
Alex was surprised by the random team slogan. However he decided to stick with them. He figured they wouldn't slow him down . All four of them had awesome powers too. You had a super strength kid. A kid that could turn himself into a damage absorber. One that was a human lie detector more powerful then even Owlman's truth serum. Then you had the damage dealer aka the girl who could control the weather. Even without him this would be a formidable team. However with him they be even more powerful. He just had to train them to use their power.
"I'll join your group however you guys have to join me for daily power training. With practice your powers can become even more powerful and versatile."
They all just nodded their heads in agreement like school children. Lucky had told them about how he one shot Theo earlier. They knew without their power they couldn't do that. Plus they had nothing to lose it was a win win. They would only get more powerful not less by training. Though Quinn did wonder if his training would just be eating more food. He didn't voice his concerns though just ate another chip.
"Let's call it a night then I have to go for a job interview tomorrow. I'm going to be a janitor at Waylon Enterprises!" Lucky said while spinning in a circle. Alex also nodded "I also got to go to Waylon Enterprises tomorrow. Hopefully for a job too." The rest agreed and they all made their way back to their rooms. Alex decided to practice his daggers arts. Well they where now going to be baton arts. He decided to find a piece of wood and craft two temporary batons. Then layer them into a harden rubber. That way he wouldn't have to hold back. He spent an hour practicing and creating the batons. He decided to call it a night. Little did he know his whole evening was being watched by Owlman from his cave.
Owlman was impressed by the kid. His work ethic was good for a 14 year old boy. He had his orphanage fill out forms display on the computer. It actually only had his name and age on it nothing else. He decided to get the guy who let this pass fired. There was over 4 pages unfilled out. He didn't even fill out where he came from or what he was doing here. What if this was a wanted criminal. They could be hiding out in orphanage and be living off his money. He knew he had to put a better system into place from now on. He wanted to stop crime not increase it.
