Kaori heard the huge explosion coming from Saffron City.
"What was that?!" Kaori.
He was a bit far but he could still hear it, and he wasn't the only one.
(On another forest.)
Fer had just caught a Bulbasaur and gave it to Rosama when the explosion happened.
"What happened?!" Rosama.
"I don't know, but I think someone's up to no good. I'll take a look." Fer.
"I'll go too!" Rosama.
"No! you'll stay in the Pokémon center while I handle the matter, this isn't for discussion." Fer.
"Ok…" Rosama pouted.
"Kadabra, Teleport us to Saffron City's Pokémon Center!" Fer.
"Kadabra!"
Kadabra grabbed Fer's and Rosama's hands and in an instant teleported away.
(Back with Kaori.)
"The attack at Silph Co. I had ruled it out due to Sabrina being a Gym Leader in this world, I wasn't expecting things to go this way. It'll be the game version if no barriers are present, Red should be here and will stop this but just in case, I'll go." Kaori.
He returned his whole team except for Fearow and rode him towards Saffron City.
(Saffron City, Silph Co.)
Red stood before the Rocket Grunts with Snorlax relaxing on the background.
"Spill it, what's Team Rocket doing here at… em… *He looks at a nearby receptionist* What's this place?" Red.
"T-the Silph Co. Building, a place where various inventions are produced for Pokémon and humans alike."
"What she said, why're you here?!" Red.
"Suck on a lemon, kid." Rocket Grunt.
Green, who was watching from her hiding place was about to have an aneurism due to Red's stupidity.
'You just had to sneak in and then let everything play itself until the right time! How can you be so stupid!?' Green.
'No, no, no, Green. Calm yourself, let's go to the top floors and find what's going on.' Green.
She managed to sneak past Red and made it to the stairs. Red, getting continue unsuccessful attempts at interrogation was starting to lose his patience.
"ARGH! How can I get the information out of him?!" Red.
"I might be able to help." ¿¿¿???
Red looked behind him and saw Fer walking past the destroyed door alongside his Kadabra.
"Who're you?" Red.
"Just a trainer that was passing by. What's happening?" Fer.
"Well, these guys are attacking the building and I'm stopping them." Red.
Fer looks around and sees all the Rocket Grunts defeated and the Snorlax being the only Pokémon standing.
'If I didn't know any better, I would accuse you of destroying this place.' Fer.
"I see, you mind if I handle him, I can make him spill the beans." Fer.
"HA! That's rich! You nosy brat won't make say a thing." Grunt.
"I don't have to. You, what's your name?" Fer.
"I'm Red." Red.
"My name's Fer. Do you have a Pokémon that knows the move Mind Reader?" Fer.
"Hm... Ah! Yes, yes, I have!" Red.
Red looks his belt and takes out a poké ball, from it comes out Poliwrath.
"Will Poli be enough?" Red.
"It's perfect, just order the move and I'll handle the rest." Fer.
"Got it! Poli, use Mind Reader." Red.
Poliwrath started looking at the Grunt while using the move, a red glow enveloped the grunt before disappearing.
"What?! Was that supposed to scare me?!" The Grunt mocked.
"No, but that's good enough. Kadabra, use Mimic." Fer.
Kadabra mimicked Poliwrath's Mind Eye and used it on the Grunt. The glow was several times more intense and the grunt blacked out. Kadabra opened his eyes and touched Fer's hand while being enveloped with psychic energy.
"What's just happened?" Red.
"Don't worry, he's just unconscious. Kadabra did it after extracting the information." Fer.
"Extracting?" Red.
"I learned by accident that certain Psychic-Type Pokémon can really read minds using Mind Reader, the problem being that only 4 Psychic-Type Pokémon can actually learn it, by using Mimic Kadabra can temporarily learn the move and read minds." Fer.
"Ok, but how will he tell us the information?" Red.
"He's already done so, to me at least. I'm kind of a psychic myself you know." Fer.
"Psychic?! Like the Gym Leader Sabrina?!" Red.
"Yeah… wait, don't you think it's weird she's not here right now?" Fer.
"It is weird, Gym Leaders are supposed to protect their respective towns or cities in case of being attacked." Red.
"Bah! We can't focus on that right now anyway! I know why the Team Rocket's here." Fer explained while he ran towards the elevator.
Red followed Fer while returning his Snorlax and Poliwrath to their poké balls.
"Why're they here for?" Red.
"They're here for a Master Ball." Fer.
"Master Ball?" Red.
"It's the ultimate poké ball. No matter what Pokémon you use it against, it will always have a 100% catch rate, in other words, no Pokémon can escape it." Fer.
*DING*
The elevator arrived and they entered it.
"No wonder they're here, but isn't this Master Ball a joy killer, I enjoy catching Pokémons regardless of the odds." Red.
"Well, A: they're criminals and B: it can catch LEGENDARY Pokémons." Fer.
"Oh... yeah, that's bad." Red.
*BZZZT*
Suddenly, the elevator began to malfunction and stopped midway.
"Dang it! They must've messed with the wires." Fer.
"Then let's follow them through the stairs. Give me a hand with this." Red.
Both Red and Fer opened the door and climbed out of the elevator.
"They believed that the Master Ball was being safeguarded by the CEO himself in the top floor." Fer.
"How many floors are there?" Red.
"40 and we're in the 20th, we better hustle before their boss beats the CEO." Fer.
"Hold on a second, their boss? The Team Rocket's Boss is here right now?!" Red.
"Yep, probably should've said that earlier. Let's hurry!" Fer.
And like that, the duo ran through the building and defeated each Rocket Grunt they met until they came to a stop at the 30th floor.
They both looked as the stairs were taken apart and they were unable to move forward.
"Dang it! You have a flying-type?" Fer.
"Not yet, how about your team use Psychic?" Red.
"I only have three Pokémon with me and they're all tired from the battles. And even then, the amount of concentration needed to hover the last remaining floors is too much for them." Fer.
"There's gotta be a way up." Red.
"I may help you with that."
They looked back and saw Green walking towards them with a mischievous smile.
"Ah, the SCAMMER!!" Red.
"Who?" Fer.
"She's a trainer that likes to scam people, she also stole my badges!" Red.
"I simply 'borrowed' for the upcoming Kanto League." Green.
Red was about to call Poliwrath out but was stopped by Fer.
"So, you said you have a way to go up?" Fer.
"I have, but you'll have to agree to my conditions." Green.
"Fat chance, give me back my badges!" Red.
"Really? Even if the leader of the Team Rocket is right here for you to defeat?" Green.
Red paused and thought about it, she was right, it was the perfect chance to stop Team Rocket from causing more harm to humans and Pokémon alike.
"I don't think you've got many options either." Fer.
Both Red and Green looked at him.
"You claim to not care, yet you remained in this building long enough to know the general and possibly interior situation. You want to destroy the Team Rocket but are too weak to do so, instead, you're using us to do your bidding." Fer.
There was a pause but Green eventually tsked her tongue.
"That's why I prefer the dumb ones, they don't think this much." Green.
"We also want to take Team Rocket down and will collaborate with you but I ask for only one thing." Fer.
"I'm listening." Green.
"Return his badges this instant." Fer.
"!!!" Red.
"No way! I need them for the Kanto League." Green.
"I don't really know what your goal is but if you don't return them this instant, we'll take them by force." Fer.
Green looked at the trainers and sighed, she took off the badges and threw them at Red.
"Whoa! Hey! Be careful with these!" Red.
"Whatever, ready to cause a ruckus?" Green.
"Hurry up, I don't have all day." Fer.
Green opened her purse and took out a keycard.
"Use this." Green.
"And what's this?" Fer.
"A keycard that can habilitate the teleporters." Green.
"Teleporters?" Red.
"Silph Co. has been working on teleporters to ease the travels around Kanto, unfortunately they've only managed to do it on a minor scale, around this very building. with that keycard, you can use the teleporters and arrive to the upper floors." Green.
"Wouldn't the Rocket Grunts have already tampered with them by now?" Fer.
"I don't think so, they were also interested in this technology so, I don't think they would trash them. And the codes are only available to the CEO himself." Green.
"Got it, we'll be on our way." Red.
The two youngsters passed Green who smiled mischievously after they left.
"Now, how should I infiltrate their base?" Green.
She left the building by breaking a window and used Wigglytuff to fly with her balloon-like body.
(Meanwhile, in the streets of Saffron.)
Don't you find weird the fact that just as Fer said, Sabrina's nowhere to be seen? Well, that has a very reasonable explanation, which will be explained right now.
"Alakazam, use Focus Blast, Jynx, use Ice Beam!" Sabrina.
"Kabutops, X-Scissor." Ariana.
"Golbat, Air Slash." Proton.
Kabutops slashes through the Focus Blast and lands a critical hit on Alakazam while Proton's Golbat flies around Jynx evading Ice Beam and countering with Air Slash.
That's right, Sabrina can't go to Silph Co. because two of the elites from Team Rocket are stopping her.
Alakazam and Jynx fall back and struggle to remain conscious while Sabrina looks fatigued.
"Just give up and let us work, you've got no chance as you're now." Ariana.
"You just got the jump on me after I beat all these grunts." Sabrina.
Several Rocket Grunts are unconscious on the ground thanks to Sabrina's interference, but now she's tired and cannot go for long. In her defense, she's beaten over 100 Pokémon with only 6 and now only has two, that's a pretty solid number if you ask me.
"Whatever the case, be glad our boss is being considerate to you. he actually wanted to recruit you to join Team Rocket you know." Proton.
"I'm aware, and that would've been a mistake I would regret." Sabrina.
"Very well, since you're not gonna cooperate, I guess it's time to wrap things up. Vileplume." Ariana sent Vileplume out.
"Paralyze her with Stun Spore." Ariana.
Vileplume nodded and rustled her leaves and yellowish dust flew towards Sabrina. Alakazam and Jynx tried to move but couldn't due to the intense pain from their injuries.
'I guess this is it for me…' Sabrina.
"Twister!"
A dust of wind violently appeared in front of Sabrina and dispersed the Stun Spore, leaving Sabrina and her Pokémon unaffected. Sabrina opened her eyes and saw a trainer jumping from his ride, his cap hiding his face.
"I knew you were still holding some of your power from me. I want a rematch." The trainer spoke feigning irritation and extended his hand.
"Heh, sure, I'll give you one, after I clean up my city from these unwanted tourists." Sabrina holds his hand and stands up.
"Fine then, this unusual tag-team will send Team Rocket blasting off again!"
The trainer revealed himself to be Kaori and Fearow descended, the bird Pokémon was craving for a fight and more importantly a victory.
"We're getting behind schedule. Proton, handle Sabrina and the nuisance while I inform the boss." Ariana.
She gave him Vileplume and Kabutops' poké balls and then took Arbok out to ride him.
"Don't let them pass through, no matter what." Ariana.
"A-Okay red-headed chief." Proton.
"Fearow, Pursuit." Kaori.
Fearow enveloped himself in dark energy and charged towards Arbok but was stopped by an attack.
"Ancient Power." Proton.
Kabutops manifested various rocks floating around him and threw them at Fearow.
"Defend yourself with Steel Wing." Kaori.
Fearow coated his wings in steel energy and successfully stopped the attack without receiving much damage at all.
"Tch! There goes my cheap shot." Proton.
"Get away from here, I've got no business with you." Kaori.
"Ou contraire, messing with Team Rocket's business means messing with me, fortunately, I'll remove you right now." Proton.
"Bring it on! Monferno!" Kaori.
He sent out Monferno and he immediately took a battle stance.
The game is now set. Kaori and Sabrina VS Proton while Red and Fer are climbing up the floors to stop the leader of Team Rocket.
