'John Walker; also known as one of the rising stars. And also one of the few players to use his real name to play immersive games.
His twisted personality and bottomless pride had pushed me to reject his candidacy to join my guild.
Before going further, I have to explain some things.
To join the Pure Blood guild, there were two conditions: the first was to be the holder of a unique class heritage; regardless of the player's rank.
As long as a player obtains a unique legacy that is attributable to only one player, the first condition is up.
As for the second, it's to pass the entrance test by clashing with one of the members of the guild in PVP.
(PVP: Player Vs Player.)
Victory or defeat is only an insignificant detail; it is up to the judge, the person you will face, who will have the right to judge you.
But knowing the members and their sadisms, no wonder we didn't have many members at this time.
To return to the main subject, this man in front of me is also known as the Demonic Sword.
His title is due to nothing other than because of his weapon; the demonic sword.
In GLO, the rarest weapons and artifacts after the divine ranks are the demon tiers.
They are known for having the particularity of killing their targets for good.
When I say that, I weigh my words. Yes, killing a player for good means only one thing, deleting his character from the database!
But what will happen if this weapon slays a player with enough impact points in the real world?
No need to look far; this person will probably die for good, even if he has enough points of impact to guarantee his resurrection.
All this is intriguing. Demonic and divine weapons are so powerful that they are impossible to hide in a simple inventory.
I had evolved my inventory at an exorbitant cost to be able to hide my black scythe.
However, there is no more dangerous than a person holding such a weapon and who thinks he's breathing a different air from the others. The current amount of his impact points is obvious proof of what I am saying.
As for his story, I don't know much about his life; whether in the game or the Url. It's not that I'm not interested in his case, it's just that I rarely spend my time surfing through the forums. But from what I know about him, he is also one of the most famous players, even if he wasn't in the rankings.
As for my meeting with him, it happened during his request to join the guild. Because of his character, I refused to allow him to join the guild; I hope he doesn't blame me for that.
Meh, what do I care about that?
After a brief moment of absence, Isaac looks at John in front of him on an armchair.
"Well, what brings you?" He goes straight to the point after everyone has settled in the huge and cold living room.
At that moment, the cute girl who accompanies John gets up from her chair right next to his partner.
"I am delighted to meet you, Pur blood's guild master; I'm Alison Morgane, a member of the Order of Earth Union. My colleague here is one of the few players occupying the post of captain, Johnathan Walker." She made the presentations, although Isaac almost skipped this step.
"The earthly union?" Isaac asks while taking a brief look at Sasha who was next to him on the same sofa.
But before the latter answers his question, John gets ahead of her. "Do I have to understand that you have just arrived?"
Isaac frowns. "What if that's the case?"
The others were not surprised, but John and Morgane were different from them; their eyes had a weird glow.
"To say that we thought Miss Sasha was the last to appear." She mutters her thoughts out loud while staring at Isaac with lured eyes.
"Well, are you going to tell me what this union is? I've never heard a guild with this name in GLO; unless it's a guild existing in another game?" Feeling that the subject was moving away from his question, he made a reminder.
Morgane has a small professional smile worthy of a bureaucrat. "Well, you are not partly wrong. The union is not a guild like any other, but a global government organization aimed at maintaining world peace and restoring the order that has collapsed since the beginning of this chaos."
"...Establish the balance? Isn't it rather bring power back into the hands of those who had it before?" His frown increased as he asked this question.
"..."
Seeing him retort about such cynicism and contempt, Morgane looks at John next to her; hoping that the latter will help her.
As desired, John slips into the conversation strangely.
He first styles his fringes on his left cheek and scrapes his throat to captivate Isaac and all the others's attention on him.
"It's not quite that."
"Even worse?" Isaac continues without giving him time to dwell on unnecessary details.
"Not even worse, but far better than that. - To be honest with you, there is a blatant difference between what you think and the truth." Having nothing to complain about Isaac's eagerness, John made this introduction before starting the real subject.
"Worldwide Union is a player management organization made up of the strongest rankers but also serves as the main basis to protect the population in the face of this global crisis. Sometimes, we ask for the collaboration of guilds such as yours to help us improve the living conditions of the inhabitants to--
"In short, you came here to annex us and relate to your cause?" Feeling that John was going to take more time in his explanations, Isaac draws this conclusion.
"Annex? It's a little strong word, don't you think?" Morgane intervenes in the conversation.
"..."
"Our goal is not to annex your guild; unless it is your will. All we ask of you is to sign an agreement on collaboration and intervention in the areas in the event of an out-of-control situation. In exchange, we will allow you the free movement of your members on our territory and our market, which sells almost everything, including artifacts, weapons, and dungeons."
Following these explanations, Isaac finally partly understood the reason for their visit.
"Just to be sure, what will we gain by signing this agreement with your organization?" He then asks, as if Morgane's previous words were only wind.
The latter, seeing that Isaac was tough in business, smiled slightly and professionally. "I just told you, if I'm not mistaken."
Isaac returns her smile with another. "Until proven otherwise, dungeons are not owned by anyone. As for artifacts and weapons, you are free to sell them to us or not, we have more than enough to meet these needs.
-We have a world-renowned smith for his creations, an alchemist no less popular than Steeve, and so on. Not to mention our priestess who's directly connected to the goddess of light. I'm sure her powers will charm anyone.
-But even being aware of this, you come here, and make us such proposals in exchange for such a sacrifice? Is it me who has a problem or is it you who have thorns instead of your brain?"
After finishing his tactless remarks, even Steven, usually contradictory to him, had a sneaky smile on his lips.
It goes without saying that none of them agreed with the government's agreement.
But one person in the room was confused, Jane. 'I understand that they are famous for the power of their guild; but isn't it a little too proud of their share? Unless they are not aware of the influence of the union in this new world.' She was not entirely wrong in speculating about this possibility.
After all, the guild is located in remote lands and almost disconnected from the world.
By the way, John shows a sneaky smile following Isaac's verbal attacks.
He gets up from his armchair and stops near the window; his back turned and his arms crossed on his back.
"You know, I would surely have reacted differently if it hadn't been you. After all, you have just come out of the tutorial and, therefore, unaware of the current situation in the world. And from what I have observed, the other members of this guild are also nailed here, without becoming aware of the outside world; therefore, I do not blame you for having said such blasphemous words." He spoke at a slow and serious pace.
Isaac looks at others with a confused look; probably waiting for someone to explain to him slightly what this guy was talking about.
But seeing the expression of the other members, he shakes his head slightly. "I think there is a misunderstanding; I don't think that my decision would be likely to change even if I learn the extent of your organization's influence in today's world.
-Here, we are talking about something close to an agreement. Except your terms are not attractive enough to force us to change our position. In exchange for what you have just proposed, do you want me to send some of the members of my guild on a perilous mission? Why do you think I will accept such an agreement?" He speaks with a ridiculous smile as if he is surprised to see John try to deal with him with such shoddy terms.
But the latter stares at him in the corner of his eyes. "Wrong! You have more to gain from it than you think." Unlike previous times, his voice was colder than before and above all, more authoritarian, as if he were addressing a subordinate.
Isaac raises his eyebrows slightly. "More to gain? Explain yourself." Regardless of his personal feelings and John's arrogance, he had the impression that he was not lying by saying these words with so much certainty.
'In conclusion, either he had decided to hide things from us, or he will add other advantages to his agreement.' He said to himself while waiting for John to speak.
The latter smiles confidently while sitting on his chair again.
"We have found a way to explore the sealed towns." He said with a triumphant smile.
Isaac remains momentarily silent with a flat expression.
But unlike him, the other members of the guild and Jane had globular eyes following his assertions.
"It's impossible." For the very first time, Sasha is in the negotiation by retorting this sentence with certainty.
Feeling Isaac's eyes on her, she continued. "He talks about the mysterious cities that appeared in our world during the first impact."
-!!
This time, Isaac was breathless after hearing Sasha's brief explanation.
"Everything is now explained; hence the presence of such a person with you," Isaac pronounces these words with a sober voice while looking straight into Morgane's eyes.
'That's what I thought, this woman doesn't come from here.'
