Chapter 27 - Like a b*tch

Davian and Becca were at the hospital. Mrs Randell just finished her therapy and was being taken to her room in her ward by Davian and Becca. She was on a wheelchair and Davian helped in pushing it as they headed for her room.

They soon got there and Davian helped in tucking her in on her bed.

"What the therapist said was good news mom. In no time, you will be discharged soon and free to go home," Davian beamed. No news was sweeter to his ears than this right now.

"Yes," Elizabeth replied in affirmation.

"I'm so happy for you, Mrs Randell. You're such a fighter. I see who Davian takes after, he's such a fighter himself and doesn't gives up easily," Becca said.

Both mother and son chuckled as they nodded in agreement with what she'd just said. Just then, there was a knock on the door. They gazed at each other in puzzlement, they weren't expecting any visitors or was it the nurse or doctor again.

"Come in," Davian responded.

The door opened and Silvia walked in, a bouquet of flowers in her hands. None of them looked too happy to see her.

Becca just despised her while Davian wanted her to give his mother some space as Silvia may seem as a reminder of the contractual marriage to his mother, which she definitely was and that was why Elizabeth wasn't too happy to see her.

"Hello everyone, Mrs Randell," she greeted as she placed the bouquet of flowers on the drawer close to the bed.

"What is she doing here, Davian?" Becca asked.

"She already knows," he replied referring to his mother. Becca was surprised.

"You told her," she responded glancing at Mrs Randell who nodded.

"I came to see my friend, Cia and to check out the affairs of the hospital. So I decided to stop by to say hello and drop off these flowers," Silvia said.

"Okay. Since that's done with, you should take your leave now," Becca replied, not hiding her irritation for Silvia one bit.

"Says who?" Silvia decided to toy with her a little.

"Says me. You really have some guts showing your face here, you don't belong here. So leave," Becca replied.

"I do. You're the one that actually doesn't, I came to see my future mother in law and fiancée," Silvia said.

"By contract," Becca responded.

"What's the difference?" Silvia continued.

"The difference eludes me," Becca said.

"Ladies! Not now and definitely not here. If you want to cut each other's throats, do it outside not in front of my mother," Davian tried to rescue the situation.

"I have better things to do with my time," Silvia remarked.

"Oh really. Was that why the great Silvia Reyes couldn't secure a man who she would love and who wouldn't love her just for her money?" Becca ridiculed Silvia further.

"Becca!" Davian reprimanded.

"What? Someone needs to put her in her place," Becca responded and Silvia scoffed.

"What's your problem really?" Becca asked.

"The only problem here is you and your secret love and undying desires for your boss-" Becca was about to slap Silvia but Davian came in between them. Both ladies glared at each other.

"That's enough," Davian yelled at them. He grabbed Silvia's hand and dragged her along with him.

"Let go!" Silvia said, trying to get his hand off her.

"I said let go!" she added but he continued to drag her along with him till they got out of the hospital and he finally let her go.

"Leave Silvia!" he said.

"Why do I have to be the one to leave?!" she asked.

"There's always trouble wherever you are," he replied and she huffed.

"I cause trouble?!" she stated.

"Yes. Trouble and drama," he replied.

"I wasn't the one that caused that bicker in there but your stupid secretary and you know that. She's heads over heels for you, are you taking her side?! Do you share her feelings too?! Huh?!" she fumed.

"I'm not taking any sides and if I was, I would certainly not take that of someone I barely know," Davian replied.

"Oh, I see what this is all about," she responded.

"But like I said, I'm not taking any sides. I'm taking that of my mother, you guys were about to fight in front of my mother," he pointed out.

"Oh I wouldn't stoop so low to fight that worthless secretary of yours. I dare her to really slap me, she would be behind bars for the rest of her miserable life," she responded.

He pinched the space between his brows and shut his eyes. He opened it again; "Just go Silvia. Leave," he said.

"I own this hospital if you've forgotten. I will stay or leave whenever I want, I don't need someone to tell me so don't you order me around and I can throw that Becca out if I feel like it!" Silvia ranted.

"Can you just shut up?!" he yelled back.

"Can you please, just act less like a b*tch for 5 seconds-" Silvia cuts him off with a slap across his face, a hot one.

Davian felt the urge to touch his burning cheek as it sting. How can her slap be this painful?-He thought.

She didn't mean to slap him, she just did and only realized after. She saw as his fists clenched. His face that had tilted a little, straightened up to face her. His eyes glared down at her and he just walked away before he does something he would regret.

He dashed into the hospital angrily. In his entire existence, no woman not even his own mother has ever dared to hit him, yet this woman did.

He opened the door to his mother's room and walked in shutting it.

"What happened?" Becca started.

"Wait..." she trailed off.

"Did that woman hit you?!" she added.

The fingerprints on his face must be obvious for them to tell. "It will come off soon," he assured.

"So she really did slap you? And what did you do?" Becca questioned but got no answer.

Of course he did nothing, Davian was a gentleman-Becca thought.

"Becca? Please give my mother and I some privacy," he said.

"Are you asking me to leave?" she replied.

"Yes, Becca. Leave, go home, just go... please!" he responded.

"I can't believe you," she muttered and walked out. Davian sighed.

"Did she really hit you?" Elizabeth asked and he nodded. And this was just a piece of the real cake-She thought.

"You did the right thing not reacting back," she tried to coax him.

"I don't even know anymore mom. She thinks she owns me all because I signed a contract," he said. Anger and frustration bubbling up inside of him.

She hated seeing him like this, it reminded her that all these was her fault, he wouldn't be in these situation if not for her.

She pursed her lips trying to suppress her tears, her throat ached as it burned with suppressed agony.

"You need to be careful around her. The way you talk to her, the way you treat her. You can't trust all these rich people. You don't know what they're capable of, you don't know how dubious they can get behind the scenes and the innocent facade they put forward for the public," she elaborated.

"You need to apologize to her," she continued.

"What? No, that I can't do. I'm not at fault here," he protested.

"You might not be but just do it. A gentleman would, but I'm telling you all these because I'm worried about you, I'm worried about your well-being and I want you to be safe," she explained. He kissed her forehead.

"Please mom, you don't have to be," he replied.

"I'm a mom, I can't help it," she said.

"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine, okay?" he replied and she nodded.

"(Sighs) Fine! I'll apologize to Ms. Reyes," he said. He suddenly started to feel at fault somehow, it was true Becca started the bicker. He finds it hard to believe what Silvia said about Becca's feelings towards him. He will apologize then, he did use a foul word on her.

He sighed yet again.

{I Heard what you did to Davian}

"What did I do?" Silvia asked the person over the phone. It was Cia.

Silvia was at her house and she was wearing a casual clothes of a shirt and jean trousers, her hair packed into a ponytail. She was standing by the glass wall of her sitting room as she talked to Cia over the phone.

{You slapped him, why?}

"Did he tell you that?" she asked.

{No, Becca did}

Silvia rolled her eyes. Her eyes then situated at the garden outside through the glass wall.

{Why did you do that?}

"I didn't mean to but he was pissing me off as usual and I didn't know when I slapped him. He called me a b*tch you know," Silvia defended herself.

{Aren't you sometimes?}

"What?" Silvia responded.

{You can be as frustrating as one sometimes. I understand why he would say that. Silvia, because he didn't react back doesn't make him less of a man actually it's what makes him a real man. You'll apologize to him}

"What?! Hell no. I'm not at fault here," Silvia responded.

{Yes you are, in some ways. I know Becca started the bicker but you played along and it wasn't cool of you slapping him. You'll apologize to the man, Ms. Reyes}

"Ms. Silvia?" Myne called and Silvia turned to face her.

"Sorry to interrupt but Mr. Randell, your fiancée is here to see you," Myne announced.
