Chapter 8 - 8. Run away?

Rollan Pov's

The Blood! The living room is a fucking mess.

I can't fucking believe this. Two hours after I left, I just got home and saw all this mess.

But I know who the troublemaker is. Well, who else would it be except Ayuma? All I had to do first was find the troublemaker. My girl was brave and mischievous.

"Ayu, babe..." I called out to her, my voice instantly echoing throughout, but I got no answer from anyone. "Brat girl, where are you?"

I giggled and walked towards the grand room, hoping Ayu would be in our room and she would be ready to attack me, either with her expletives, a pillow, or maybe with something worse than that.

"Ayu..."

The room was empty.

"Bad girl, where are you?"

After that, I headed for the bathroom, but the bathroom was also empty and dry, which indicated no one had been in this place in over an hour.

Beauty, do you want to play with me? Are you hiding from me, beauty?" My voice echoed throughout the room. "It's ok, I will find you beauty, and don't blame me. If I hug and kiss you as soon as I find you, you won't be able to avoid me, you know?"

I was laughing at the thought that I could find her.

I searched the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, and the swimming pool, but after ten minutes, I searched the entire penthouse, but to no avail; I saw neither Ayu nor Citra, the staff I had instructed to look after my lover.

I released a sigh of frustration and annoyance. Did she run away?

"Shit!" I was cursing myself; I should have been able to put multiple and more stringent security measures in this building to make sure she couldn't get anywhere.

I had been too gentle and easy on her because of my affection, and now she was running away. If she'd run away in Jakarta, she would have easily met her father and returned to her husband's.

But wait... Ayu can't possibly do that, I know her very well. She was born into a conservative family, she couldn't possibly tell anyone what was happening to her right now because being my captive was a terrible embarrassment that she had to cover up.

And that embarrassment can only be accepted by a crazy bastard like me.

Hence, I doubted that she would go back to her father and ask him for help just to get away from me. The only way for her to get away from me is for a war to break out between me and her husband, if that cowardly man is willing to do the same crazy things as me to get her love.

I took a deep breath, but there was one thing that mattered: if she ran away, then I would have to question my title as a mafia don in this country. A mafia don who can't take care of one person doesn't deserve to be a mafia don.

"Is something wrong, sir?" asked Ridwan, who had appeared beside me at some point.

"Ayu and Citra are not here."

Ridwan gave me a pitying look. "She can finally make her own decisions, huh?" he muttered.

"Are you mocking me?" I looked at him, annoyed.

"I'm sorry, sir," he said with her usual calm face. "But...."

"But?"

"I'm sorry, sir, but my advice is still the same. Miss Ayu should be released immediately, she is an honorable woman; it is not appropriate for an honorable woman to be treated like that, let alone become collateral to pay a debt that has absolutely nothing to do with her at all; that debt is her husband's company debt, she doesn't deserve to be victimized like that."

I looked at Ridwan with squinted eyes, and I agreed with his words because only a demon could act like me, and if I let her go, then I would only destroy my reputation.

I took a deep breath and sat down on the sofa. "I will think about your idea, Ridwan."

"Thank you, sir," Ridwan said. "Did you check the whole room?"

"Yes," I replied calmly.

"I'll check downstairs, sir. Maybe Miss Ayu and Citra are out shopping."

"Yes, please do it."

After I allowed Ridwan to leave, Ridwan immediately moved to leave, but as soon as he opened the door, Citra and Ayu appeared.

"Ayu!" I jumped up from my seat and approached her. "Where have you been?" I asked and hugged her.

Ayu didn't answer at all; she just looked at me with a clear look of dislike.

"Hey, are you okay?" I urged her.

Instead of answering, Ayu immediately removed my hand from her shoulder and immediately left me, who could only look at her with a questioning look.

"What's going on?" I asked Citra once Ayu left. "Why is this place so chaotic and messy like this? And where have you been?"

Citra looked down, and the servant girl looked down timidly.

"Citra, answer my question! And whose blood is that?" I showed her a few drops of blood scattered near the sofa. "Can't you take care of her?" I asked in a furious voice.

"I... I..."

"Answer my question, Citra, and don't just look down!" I snapped at her in annoyance because instead of giving me an answer to my question, she just kept looking down in fear.

"Let me do the talking," Ridwan said. "Please go first, sir.

I frowned in annoyance at having just heard Ridwan kick me out, but I couldn't help but do it if I wanted Citra to open her mouth about what happened.

"Alright, I'm going."

"And no eavesdropping!" Ridwan ordered it firmly.

"Huh, you think I'd do something that stupid?"

"Of course not, sir."

"I'm leaving and you," I turned to Citra, who was still looking down in fear. "Tell me everything that happened to Ridwan. Because you are responsible for taking care of Ayu when I'm not here."
