Chapter 10 - 10. Mistake

Ayuma Pov's

The breakfast has been prepared by Citra for me, and Rollan hasn't been seen since the morning. I don't know where he is right now. He left without saying anything after locking me up in the penthouse like a chicken.

"I can cook another meal if you want," Citra said softly from beside me. "We can also buy porridge or bread from the restaurant downstairs if you would like."

I turned to Citra. "You can sit next to me; I don't want to feel like I'm talking to a maid."

"I am a maid, Miss Ayu."

I shake my head. "No, you're my friend and sister in this place," I said, forcing Citra to sit beside me. "How long have you worked for Shah's family?"

"I don't work for Shah's family, miss. I work with Mr. Rollan."

I looked at her with a surprised frown. "What's the difference?"

Citra just smiled. "Different, but sorry, I can't tell you."

Hmm, okay, I understand.

"What do you think of him?"

"Mr. Rollan?"

I nodded.

"I don't know him well, and honestly, I only saw him in person for the first time while I was here."

"How come you worked for him but never saw him?"

"He never allowed the other staff to see him; only my mother interacted with him because she was the chief butler in his house. Other than my mother, a few people were allowed to see Mr. Rollan, such as his driver and his bodyguard."

I was nodding, clearly understanding.

"Do you want fruit? Or juice?"

"Um yes," I said, I needed a lot of energy to survive in this prison made for me by Rollan.

"Alright, I'll prepare it quickly," Citra said. "Oh dear, I forgot, Mr. Rollan left his credit card for you, and after this, it will probably be around eleven o'clock in the afternoon when your stylist will be here."

"Credit card? Stylist?" I was surprised because Rollan didn't give it to me directly. Was he worried I would reject it?

Citra nodded.

"Damn you, Rollan!" I grumbled. "How could he give me a credit card and a stylist if he doesn't allow me to leave and just be cooped up in this place?"

"Oh, you're allowed to leave if you want," Citra said, coming over with a bowl of fruit.

I, who had just drunk some water, choked on it.

"Are you okay?" Citra immediately patted my back.

"No, it's fine. Is it just that Rollan allowed me to go out?"

"Yes," Citra nodded confidently. "I'm sure Steven is ready to escort you wherever you want to go, as long as..."

"As long as I don't meet my father?"

"I don't know, but Mr. Rollan won't allow you to go to East Jakarta."

I just smiled in frustration; last night he had given my cell phone back. I'll repay him by spending his money, I decided.

"Ah, I forgot; it'll be here soon."

"Yes, you're right. It's about time those closets were filled."

Hana Nugroho arrived a few minutes after I finished my meal. Seeing that I arrived, she smiled, and with her assistant, they immediately set up some items for me in a room that Citra had indicated.

"Good afternoon, Miss Ayuma. Are you ready to try out some clothes?" she asked after finishing her work.

I nodded and rose.

"I'm pretty sure everything will be perfect on your body; there might be some clothes that you don't like, but it doesn't matter; we can find more clothes that are much better," she said and guided me toward the living room.

I just nodded. After living here, I did not have enough clothes because, when Rollan took me away from my family, I only had clothes that were attached to my body. Now was the time to go shopping as well as avenge that man's madness.

The living room was now filled with several shelves full of clothes and a large mirror near the wall. A girl wearing a white T-shirt and jeans smiled at me.

"'This is Kiki, my assistant; she'll be helping you,'" Hana introduced.

"Hi," I said.

"Nice to meet you," she said very formally.

"Alright, let's go for the first outfit," Hana said, and she picked out some clothes from the rack, ranging from dresses, skirts, jeans, and pajamas, all made from sequins, silk, lace, and more. "Which one would you like to try first?"

"Umm, underwear."

"Okay," Hana said, then made a gesture, ordering her assistant to get some underwear from the rack.

The assistant took some underwear and showed them to me. I took a lacy black bra and pants set. The two women politely turned around, letting me take off my clothes and put on the new underwear. This underwear is not much different from mine, with soft and smooth material.

"Done."

"Alright, shall we start with the dress or kebaya first?" Hana asked and picked up a short-cut red dress and a blue kebaya.

"Kebaya?" I wondered, Why would Rollan ask me to wear a kebaya? Does he want to take me to a formal event? The man was crazy! But his courage and madness were commendable.

"That's right, Mr. Rollan directly asked me to bring some kebayas too, for Miss Ayuma."

"Dress first, and for the kebaya, I'll order it directly from my favorite designer," I said with a smile, imagining Rollan's anger, that I would be using his credit card.

"Alright," Hana said, then handed the red silk dress to her assistant.

The assistant unzipped the dress and helped me put it on; the dress felt perfectly integrated into my skin, like a second skin. Hana's assistant walked towards the glass and showed me the reflection of my body in the glass. I was momentarily stunned; somehow I had never felt this beautiful before.

"Wow, you look perfect!" said Hana happily as she clapped her hands. "From the first time I saw you, I knew you were stunning. The daughter of the Wijaya family is

The woman closed her mouth instantly, her face deathly pale as she stared behind me. I turned my head curiously, looking at the source of Hana's fear, and as soon as I turned, Rollan was standing behind me with an indefinable face.

"I'm sorry, sir," Hana stammered. She had made a horrible mistake.
