Chapter 34 - 34. World

I took a bath and went down to have breakfast but ended up having lunch. I slept like a pig last night but thankfully I was not alone, many of us woke up late especially the old man, he was still asleep when I took a bath.

I ordered soup with vegetables and bread. The soup had many different veggies potato, onion, cabbage, green fruit, and tomato with heavy spices which I liked. The bread was round and soft just like her melons, I squeezed the bread visualizing her.

The old man cleared his throat. "What are you doing you brat? Don't play with food"

He munched down the roasted rabbit leg with red sauce, waving around the bone as he spoke.

I looked over to the counter where the second son of an innkeeper waved at me. It was his shift to work since he was absent last night and his big brother and father took a day off. Astrid was also absent maybe tired due to the work.

This second son, named Rio is quite a funny guy, he is a fan of mine. Did I mention I had a little fan club around here? Most girls were in there but a few of the guys also joined the little group.

Rio told me about it a few minutes ago when I received the food that he brought for us. He was very enthusiastic about it.

I opened the panel to see the progress.

I finally managed to achieve intermediate-stage showmanship. Now I use a sword the way I like as if I was waving feathers around, swords seem more aligned with me and my moves.

Now at this stage, I am properly understanding how to use it for offense and defense. If I were to fight against Celia with only the sword skills I bet I could finish her in no time even if I had the previous strength of level three.

Although taking care of an Adversary like Scott will be a little tough while only using sword skills. As far as I understand the swordsmanship, he was also near the intermediate stage but not more than that.

I leveled up a few times in the last two years due to the daily quests. It improved my physics as well as increased my stamina by many folds. I could easily run five miles without any breaks.

The reward ratio of granting experience points has been increased to a hundred and fifty exp per day but with that, the difficulty of the workout also shot up. Like two hundred sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and a ten-mile run. Thankfully the increasing count had stopped at that or else I would have died.

What I can say, I am lazy as always.

Speaking about leveling up several times, sadly I only have two skills. Only two stars blessed me with the gift and others went back the way they came, useless things.

I have a magic skill. A Fire.

At that time I thought my journey to become Gandalf had started... my luck was shitty. My limit was three seconds or maybe five, above that I feel uneasy and have extreme headaches.

I wonder what will happen if I continue. My skin crawled with the thought of Amalia and her blood magic. I mean, she cried blood tears and lost consciousness that time when she went all out. She went further than her limit, that was a terrifying scene. I do not want to end up like that, especially in front of my enemy.

The second skill was pretty promising When I got the skill of Power Throw I was frowning, the name looked weak as well as felt useless but the results stunned me to the core. The blunt sword was dug deep into the tree trunk to the point I failed to pull it out. It vandalized the tree trunk to a destructive degree.

I bet any human could die on the spot from the impact if they got hit bluntly. That was why I wanted to test it on someone and I got a chance, I used it on the bear and the result was awesome.

The blunt blade practically pushed him back, that heavy-looking monster and wounded him badly even after I missed his important parts by chance.

After evaluating my skills and strength in the battle with the bear I could happily say I was satisfied with my hard work. The training bore fruit and my dear system is a good boy!

There was no reply from the system.

You did great!

Again no reply.

This idiotic AI system! I sighed.

A year ago it got an upgrade and a few things have changed since then now I can see the attack of a weapon. The response of the system also improved greatly. Now she cares about what I think!

[...]

See this was what I was talking about, right?

[ Yes! And that is why I am thinking of adding penalties after quest failures...]

"I am sorry!" I said mentally. "Dont bully, I will stay quiet"

"..." This bit... B- Bitter soup does not have a taste at all...

Back to my progress in swordsmanship, I basically would not be able to achieve the advanced stage unless I joined the Academy.

I am sixteen years old, the right age or say legal age to join the Academies of Britannia. That is the only way to go further into the path and sooner or later I have to do it. I can't continue on my own without any teacher or goddamn books to read. I have to look for them in the Academy library or try to find them around the town's libraries. Not to mention I need to reach level twenty, it's gonna be difficult. More levels mean more experience points.

I excused myself and decided to stroll around the village. There are many things, I have loved, about this World in recent years.

This world follows a twelve-month year system like mine but the only difference is the days in the months. There are only twenty-eight days in each month or four weeks a month. They have no specific names for days like Monday or Sunday, they just go with day one day two, and three, and so on till it reaches twenty-eight.

Now I have to fit this into my head but it is still another world for me. Here year has 336 days unlike mine and that confuses me, after all, I lived here only for two years.

The weather in the North region is always cold and snowy except for three months of the year. The three months, when the snow liquefies and the river by the Stormfront fills in with tons of water. Less snow and more greenery but still the mountain peaks and some high places always stay covered in snow.

The northern region was among the most deadly regions in the world, where nobody could be able to harvest any crops, but to make this place habitable people hunted, collected, and bought supplies from towns.

The Village of Stormfront comes under the regime of the empire but strangely here they do not have borders. In all, the Empire ruled over three big cities, and eleven villages surrounding them here and there but outside of that land, anybody can claim any land as long as they are capable of holding it. It's like a jungle law and the same goes for other kingdoms.

The reason for that was the harsh lands and monsters that lived around the world. It's impossible to protect everything at once even if the Empire is incapable of doing so as per the old man's words.

They just protect their own and the rest who live outside have to look out for themselves.
