Chereads / My Deathless System / Chapter 37 - 37. Back to tomb

Chapter 37 - 37. Back to tomb

I brought a few things with me like berries and dried fruits from the local inn and decided to leave for my journey up to the mountains.

The paper map that Scott had with himself was now in my hands, the terrain looked different and I hardly remembered the path we took that day. It's been two years and the snow was wiped out and trees and plants rule the areas.

From the valleys, hills, and narrow steeps I made my way to the certain direction of Tomb of Acropash. This was not the only way to reach the tomb as the map suggested. When we were there at the actual place I noticed two more paths leading to the mountain where the tomb was located.

The path I took was from the Stormfront and the same path that the map revealed Tho the village of Stormfront was not on the old map, it seemed the village was built after the map's birth.

After going for hours straight I took a break by the large tree and a little further from the path into the thin forest area. It will be much safer if I avoid getting detected by any wanderers if there are any. At this point I could see the path leading further had been covered in snow. The highlands start from this point on, where the weather falls short.

My agenda was simple, enter the tomb and take a look around to see if anything changed or not, as far as I know, the Tomb of Britannia was always cursed, unless the main person, or one would like to say, the boss does not get slain it stays cursed or demonized.

The tomb boss had been slain but I wished to see if there are any treasures left or not. I mean the tomb was goddamn huge, and there was a high probability I could find something that previous people missed.

Was this a dumb idea?

Fuck who cares! I want some gold coins, I wish I would have accepted back then when Amalia and Rex offered me.

Being a good person and helping Gramps nearly broke me but no worries, at least he is now debt free and more happy.

What a great guy I am!

My relaxed muscles tightened as I saw a footprint around the herb garden near the entrance of the tomb. They were fresh as if someone had been walking around but what made me worried was many footsteps of different sizes.

Who the fuck dare to come here?

I heard a laughing and chatting noise around the entrance as I crouched to the left side away from the potential gazes. The bush surrounded me pretty well as I made my way close to them, carefully.

There were three men, sitting by the campfire. Weapons lay by their sides and scars were visible on their revealing skin.

The Bloody Bandits, thankfully nobody was above level ten means I could take them out if needed.

I shook my head thinking again, why do I have to jump on them without any reason? They would have plenty of gold coins and loot. I must deal with the likes of them because once a legend said.

With great power comes great responsibility.

Yes, that's right, it's my duty to eliminate them and stop their misdeeds but that will be like taking a flying arrow into your ass to halt it.

Fuck! I should get back where I come from, I am no hero, and who knows how many more bandits are inside the tomb now, it's probably infested with them. It's their hideout now. A place where they operate from, a hive of bees. I must not throw a stone at them.

I crawled away in a different direction, time to go back like a hero. I am a hero it's just not a stupid one.

I froze on my path away from the tomb. There lay skeletons in pieces and a black skeleton with a broken dark crown, the body of Acropash.

The wicked things kicked him out of his own home, how sad. You have my condolences, man. Thankfully we buried Scott and others at that time before leaving the tomb due to respect for the dead and that was why they were not out here in the cold.

Scotty, you should thank us for that.

On the white surface of the snow, the black skeleton annoyed my eyes like no end.

[ Name - Black Skeleton

The amount of energy contained in the bones is too dense thus leading it to corrupt the very essence of the bones. ]

Fuck that's creepy!

Why is the system putting all that's in front of me? My dear system why are you telling me this? Oh, I guess I used an inspection without realizing it.

[ A potential target is detected! ]

[ Does the host want this specific target as a shadow slave? ]

[ Due to being filled with Cursed energy there is a high possibility the target could turn into a Lich! ]

[If the host allows the system would like to refine the target and turn this special grade target into a Shadow Slave]

[ Target will more likely turn into Lich!]

Wow, that's some crazy shit over here. Lich huh? But wasn't that a bad thing? I know in games they are usually evil mages who turn undead to gain more power then how can I get that kind of thing? Will not that affect me if I summoned it in front of people? Damn, they will call me dark mage or something.

[Host's lack of response detected!]

[Probably the host is sleeping thus the system chose an automated response!]

[ Ding! Using the target and turning into the Shadow slave]

"..."

Dude! How can you just go ahead without my damn permission? You shitty system. Why did you take things into your hand?

My palm began emitting light the same as a torch and when I flipped upward that light turned into a white ball and then slowly proceeded to the Skeleton.

[ Ding! Perk point is used]

Was that a perk point? Why that felt amazing. I had no idea I could use it like this.

The white light ball went inside the skeleton chest brightening the black bones on the way and disbanded.

The light burned inside the empty eyes sockets of the skeleton as the black color of bones began gathering itself near the chest area leaving the original color of white bones as it is.

The laying skeleton rose slowly as a black ball formed the front of his chest with a small plop the ball busted coating back the skeleton in a strange black robe as a white skull remained exposed.

[ Ding! First Shadow slave Added]

[Host has been granted a reward for using shadow slave skill for the first time!]

[ Ding! 1000 exp gained! ]

I was speechless by the strange phenomenon in front of me. It felt badass and the appearance was fucking terrifying, I could feel a rush of blood in my veins with one look at his ghostly appearance.

I was silent and even forgot to look at the popping-up screens in front of my vision. I got a thousand experience points but I did not care at all. What's the thing in front of me? It seems powerful.

I felt extraordinary air around the lich, it made my heart race fast and tingled a bell of anxiety. It was uncomfortable at first but when it tilted its head all the uneasy ness washed away.

[Name the First Shadow slave]

[.....]

Name? Do I have to name it? I guess I will find something relatable even if my naming sense was not that good.

Heck! I even named my dog, Doggo!

I wondered for a while as the thing in front of me stood silent.

"How about Ark?" I blurted out.

[ Ark name has been selected! ]

The reason I named this lich, Ark was his previous name, Acropash. It's similar.

[ Name - Ark (Lich)

Grade - Mid-grade (Special grade) ]

I focused on the window above its head. Grade mid? What does that mean? Is that power scale-like levels? If it is then how could it become a higher grade? And is mid-grade powerful? If so how powerful is it?
