Firstly I believe no one wants to live their life, away from the protection of the king or Emperor. After all, living out of their reach means living their whole life in danger, as there are many possibilities for something to occur like a bear incident. If that happened then they would have no one to look up to for protection. No lord or god.
The Old man said even armies could not survive for a long time if they had to station outside for long, with less food, less entertainment, and harsher lands filled with unknown monsters.
The only exception was bandits and outlaws who could be able to survive by robbing the passengers, killing, and looting. And why not? It's their ideal place where no law could bind them and dare to come looking for them. They could do whatever they want as long as they knew what was good for them.
The settlements outside of the rules would always become the target of theirs, as well as merchants.
I guess that's why Adventurers get jobs from authorities to take out certain groups of bandits. The best job to have as long as one was ready to put his life on the line.
I stepped on the frozen horizon of the river. In the next few days, the ice will start melting. That would be awesome to run around and see the stars with the naked eye.
I wore light trousers and a furry jacket. I had become extra tolerant towards the cold weather due to the 20% skin refinement. It also increased my natural defense stat like a protective invisible armor around me.
The bone refinement increased my strength and also helps me to deliver extra damage to the enemy. Also, the skill Power Throw was heavily dependent on this particular refinement. Power and range were related to it.
Blood refinement like it said improved my natural healing ability as well as helped me to naturalize toxins in my body, saving my ass after I eat some weird shit to know what kind of plant it is. not to mention even Ale gets affected by this... And I guess that was why I was able to withstand a second mug of ale without puking. That was a win, I wonder if I can try for the third one.

• Shadow Slaves ( 0/5) ( 1 Perk point )
Note- This Spell allows the User to capture the dead target to summon them whenever he desires.
( Shadow slaves will withdraw themselves from the battle when he gets slain, they cannot re-summon until fully rested.) ]
The spell that came with the system. It was a gift, but even for that, I have to invest perk points. Duh!
I have never tried to use it before, but I guess I should try to see how it works. I would greatly appreciate a loyal companion beside me who will watch my back.
I have some reserved perk points and using them here would not be worthless. I needed to find something but not now... I was intending to laze around, no hard work for a few days.
"It's time to head back to our home"

Juriudu blew the burning coal to light more fire in the fire pit. Then he steered the wooden spoon
In the pot that hung above the rising flames with the help of rope.
He took the chopped vegetables and then added them to the water inside the pot. He let a few breaths pass to taste it and then added a pinch of spices and salt to the soup.
He made sure the flame kept going as he jotted down something on the paper and then folded it before placing it inside the pouch of coins.
He groaned a little as he got up to his feet, and made his way out of the hut.
The sky was full of stars but what made him smile was a big moon hanging over his head. A full moon with visible craters and holes. There were uncountable stars in the night sky and a moon that shone bright like the sun.
The moon's rays filled every bit of land around him unlike the sun they were cool and soothing to one mind.
The phenomenon in front of him was rare, it appears only for a few days in the whole year. According to the legend This moon graces the people living in the world with happiness and fortune. This time was among them, the time of the great moon.
The old man closed the door of the hut behind him as he slowly took the path to his left which was filled with green grass and different types of plants.
He walked forth to find his grandson who probably sat at his favorite place. The same young man who had slain a fearsome bear a month ago.
He shook his head, laughing at himself. The young man who was weak a few years ago was now tall and strong, enough to protect himself.
Many people grew up to become warriors or mages but some rare geniuses could have the potential to become both of them and his grandson was among them. He was the genius of the century, a man who can rewrite history.
The old man was happy to have someone like Noah as his grandson. He was not blood-related or any relative to him but yet their bond was stronger than the real one. They both cared for each other and looked out for each other. Remembering how Noah had helped him to pay back his debt almost made him cry as he walked.
He took long breaths, hastening his steps. "Brat... It's time to eat" he mumbled as he kept going forward till he reached the location where he meant to find Noah.
The young man was sat on the bolder closing his eyes and facing the full moon with a smile on his face. He looked peaceful as if he had found something meaningful while sitting there on the rock.
"What are you doing? Hurry up I left food on fire" the Old man spoke as Noah tilted his head back.
Noah raised a finger, "You seriously not hearing this?"
The old man rolled his eyes.
"Come on, it's loud and clear... Don't tell me only I am hearing it" Noah jumped down and shook the old man's shoulder excitedly. "It's the eleventh time now, this can't be a coincidence"
"You are still repeating that? I told you I did not hear that melody you speak of" the Old man replied. "And what exactly do you mean by melody? Never once in my life, have I heard anything like that"
"It's like a binaural beat. You know stuff ah!" Noah rubbed his brow hard.
"What's with weird names? Forget it. Let's go I don't want to hear anything" the old man, pushed the coin pouch into Noah's hands. "Take this with you when you go to the Village"
Noah smiled, weighing the pouch of gold coins.
"Who do I have to kill?"
The old man shook his head as Noah followed behind.
"Give it to that idiot shopkeeper, he knows what to do"
"What? It's not for me?" Noah raised a brow and feigned to be disappointed.
"You can take whatever you sell there, you do not have to give the coins back to me" the Old man repeated two times, and then fixed Noah with a look. "I don't need Coins, so stop giving me everything. We can manage with a few coins"
Noah remained silent as they approached the hut.
The old man spoke up again after their conversation hit a lull.
"You sure, you do not want to go with Udan? Big towns are beautiful, with big buildings, many peoples, big inns and Brothels" The Old man's eyes squinted, a comical smile plastered on his face. "It's the best way to spend some coins you know, when I was young I used to"
"I got it... I don't want to hear about your adventures" Noah interrupted the Old man as he opened the door for him. "I have something else in mind"
The old man stood quietly his shoulder slumped down.
"What?" Noah said in questioning, expressions. "I have many better things to do"
"Like what?" The old man smiled again, "Astrid? She's a good girl. If you want I can talk..."
"Nope. I don't wanna marry anyone," Noah blurted out and went inside as the old man followed.
It would be better if I slept early and headed for the Stormfront. This time I was planning to visit the tomb, to see what happened to it.
