Chapter 5 - Wednesday's child is full of woe. part 2

Wednesday and Y/n donned their customized uniforms, each reflecting their individual preferences. Wednesday sported a black and charcoal striped blazer, paired with a matching skirt that fell just above her ankles. She opted for a grey woolen vest and a tie, customizing her attire into a blacked-out version of the vibrant purple or blue uniforms worn by the other girls. This allowed her to stay true to her character and avoid the painfully bright colors she despised.

Y/n, on the other hand, had his uniform tailored to his liking. His blazer was a dark midnight purple with black stripes running down it, deviating from the standard bright blue or purple uniforms worn by the other boys. He also replaced the woolen vest with a grey waistcoat, accompanied by matching pants and a tie.

Y/N adjusted his midnight purple blazer, its black stripes making a stark contrast to the standard uniform. He glanced over at Wednesday, who looked equally striking in her black and charcoal attire

Enid skipped over to them and was impressed by how well Y/n's uniform suited him. However, she quickly averted her gaze when she noticed the death stare Wednesday directed at her

.Enid: "You both look amazing in your uniforms, here Follow me," she said, galloping through another courtyard,

Enid: "Nevermore was founded in 1791 to educate people like us outcasts, freaks, monsters," the cheerful girl explained.

Y/N: "You can spare us the sanitized sales pitch," the green-eyed boy interjected, stealing a glance at his breathtaking lover in her uniform.

Wednesday: "We don't intend to stay here any longer than we have to," she deadpanned.

Enid: "Why not?" Enid questioned her smile faltering under Wednesday's icy stare

Y/N: "It was her parents' idea to send us here-" "They've been eagerly seeking any excuse to send us here. It's all part of their nefarious yet painfully obvious plan," Wednesday interrupted, scowling.

Enid: "What plan?" Enid asked, confused.

Y/n: "To mold us into mini versions of themselves." the blond boy replied with a stern yet modest look

Enid: "Well, in that case, maybe you can clarify something. There are rumors circulating that you two killed a kid at your previous school, and your parents pulled some strings."

Y/N: "Actually, there were more than one kid -" "But who's counting?" the couple chimed in after each other, both wearing blank expressions that seemed devoid of any emotion. Enid gulped in fear, feeling intimidated.

Enid: "Uh, anyway, welcome to the quad," she said, regaining her cheery composure.

Wednesday: "It's a pentagon," the short girl corrected her with the most lifeless of stares. Enid's cheerfulness dimmed slightly.

Enid: "Look, the whole snarky goth girl and murderer act might have worked at a normie school, but things are different here. Let me give you a rundown of the social scene." Y/n sighed.

Wednesday: "We're not interested in participating in tribal adolescent clichés."

Enid: "Well, use it as fuel for your bottomless pit of disdain. There are many flavors of outcasts here, but the four main cliques are fangs, furs, stoners, and scales. Over there are the fangs, a.k.a. vampires. Some have been here for literal decades. Those knuckleheads over there are the furs, a.k.a. werewolves, like me," Enid explained, pointing to herself.

Y/n: "Full moons must get pretty rowdy around here. Did you pack your noise-canceling headphones, Mi rosa oscura?" he asked Wednesday, giving her a peck on the forehead.

Wednesday: "Of course I did," she said as she ruffled his hair.

Enid: "I can't even handle how cute you two are!" she shrieked in excitement. Wednesday glared at her intensely and said,

Wednesday: "Use the word 'cute' to describe us one more time, and I can't guarantee your safety," Wednesday responded with a chilling intensity.

Y/N: "I assume the scales are the sirens," Y/n pointed to a girl sitting by the fountain, attempting to ease the tension.

Enid: "Yes, you catch on quickly. That's Bianca Barclay, the closest thing Nevermore has to royalty, although her crown has been slipping recently. She used to date our resident tortured artist, Xavier Thorpe, but they broke up at the beginning of the semester for reasons unknown," Enid explained.

Wednesday: "Fascinating," she said, faking interest while rolling her eyes.

Y/N: "I know, right? " the tall boy responded with sarcasm, which went unnoticed by Enid. However, he earned a barely noticeable smirk from his lover.

Enid: "My vlog is the number one source for Nevermore gossip," she declared, sporting a massive smile that made Y/n and Wednesday uncomfortable.

???: "Yo, Enid! You won't believe the dirt I've heard about the new students. Apparently, she manipulated the boy into being her boyfriend and made him eat human flesh. She totally killed that kid and fed it to him. I'd watch your back," an unknown boy interrupted. Enid let out an annoyed sigh and stepped aside to reveal Wednesday standing behind her, causing the boy to freeze up.

 Enid: wait where's-"

Y/N: "quite the contrary," the tall boy spoke up, locking eyes with the other boy and noticing his dilated pupils.

Wednesday: "Actually, I fillet the bodies of my victims and feed them to Amore Mio," she stated with a frightening expression on her face.

Enid: "Ajax, these are my new roommates, Wednesday Addams and Y/N Grayson," Enid introduced, prompting Y/n to extend his hand for a firm handshake, which Ajax reciprocated.

Ajax: "Whoa, you're like living in black and white, just like a living Instagram filter," Ajax commented, directing his words at Wednesday. Noticing her confusion, Y/n filled her in,

Y/N: "It's an app on the phone." Wednesday nodded in understanding, while Ajax clumsily walked away after Enid urged him to do so.

Enid: "Ignore him. Gorgons spend way too much time getting stoned. He's cute but clueless," she said, glancing back at Ajax.

Wednesday: "I wish Y/n would be clueless at times, but then again, I'm content that he isn't. Otherwise, he'd be just like every other stupid perverted boy." she finished her statement while tightly holding Y/n's hand.

(Time skip)  The trio reunited at the gates, preparing to bid farewell to Wednesday's parents and Pugsley.

Gomez: "Oh, look at you two. Seeing you in those uniforms brings back so many terrible memories, doesn't it, Tish?" the stumpy man remarked to his wife.

Morticia: "Yes, it does. Boys, why don't you wait in the car? These two and I need a moment," she ordered, causing Pugsley to sulk over to Wednesday and Y/n,

Wednesday: "Pugsley, you're soft and weak. You'll never survive without us. I give you two months tops," she said, allowing him to hug her tightly.

Pugsley: "I'm going to miss you too, sis," he sulked into her shoulder. Y/n knelt down to Pugsley's height.

Y/N: "Listen, Pugsley, you have to start growing up. I hate seeing you come home from school every day bruised up. I believe that deep down, you have the potential to become a strong person. You need to stop relying on your emotions and start facing things head-on. I love you as if you were my own brother," Y/n said, giving Pugsley a warm hug before helping him into the car.

Pugsley: "Do you think Wednesday loves me too?" he asked sadly.

Y/N: "Of course, why wouldn't she?" Y/n replied, rubbing Pugsley's head. Morticia and Gomez looked at the tall blonde boy with admiration.

Gomez: "You've grown into a fine, loving, and caring young man, Y/n. I'm sure your parents would be proud of you from above," Gomez said sincerely. Y/n nodded gratefully and embraced the man.

Y/N: "You know, I consider you to be my father now," Y/n said with tears in his eyes.

Gomez: "Thank you. Now go take care of my daughter. She needs you out there, and you know it." he responded warmly,

Y/n walked back to Morticia and Wednesday, noticing the pendant Morticia had given to Wednesday. Then, Morticia turned to Y/n and, with a smile, presented him with an obsidian bracelet engraved with their initials.

Morticia: "Thank you for all you have done for Wednesday, and especially for Pugsley. It's nice to see you being a brother figure for him," she expressed her gratitude.

Y/N: "No, thank you and Gomez for taking me in after I lost my parents. I was living on the streets for almost a year before you found me," Y/n said, giving Morticia a gentle hug.

Wednesday overheard the conversation, and she was shocked and upset. She had no idea that Y/n had been living on the streets after his parents died. Without realizing it, she found herself hugging Y/n tightly, not wanting to let go. her grip tightening *How did I not know this?* she thought to herself.

The thought of Y/N, all alone and vulnerable, had twisted something inside her that she rarely acknowledged...empathy.

As they said their goodbyes, Morticia called out from the moving car, "I'll call you on Sunday on the ball !" As the car drove away, Wednesday turned to Y/N.

Wednesday: "You never told me you were homeless for a year," she expressed,

Y/N: "It's not something I enjoy talking about. he shrugged, trying to downplay it.

Wednesday: " No six-year-old should go through that especially after losing their whole family." She hugged him tightly

Y/N: hey, are you going to let go, or am I going to have to carry you back?" he asked, amazed that she continued hugging him for so long.

Wednesday: "As long as you feel completely loved by me," she whispered and kissed his cheek. Then, she said,

Wednesday: "No, you'll have to carry me back," as she climbed onto his back, wrapping her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck, tucking her head between his shoulder and neck.

Y/N: "And you're willing to embarrass yourself so that I don't feel lonely? What's the catch?" he asked, astonished by her gesture.

Wednesday: "As long as you feel you're completely loved by me," she whispered, her voice filled with genuine affection, and she kissed his cheek. They made their way back to Ophelia Hall, surprisingly unseen by anyone. Y/n, with his lean 6-foot-2 frame, was usually hard to miss. Upon reaching their room, Y/n carefully set Wednesday down on her bed. He then began setting up her writing area, ensuring everything was arranged just the way she liked it. As he finished setting up her desk, he turned to the round, web-like window and observed Wednesday as she meticulously removed the colorful tint on their side.

Y/N: " I've finished up over here if you want to start writing, Cariño," he said lovingly, looking up to see her descending from the ladder.

Wednesday: "Thank you, Amore," she replied, walking over to her desk. She was wearing an oversized black hoodie that overlapped her shorts leaving her cold pale legs revealed.

Y/N: "Wait, is that my hoodie?" he snorted, giving her a playful look.

Wednesday: "You weren't going to wear it, and my clothes are still boxed up," she retaliated.

Y/N: "No, it's fine. I love seeing you in it. And you look ten times better with the moonlight shining on you." Y/N chuckled as he hugged her from behind, and she gently caressed his arms.

Wednesday: "You as well look devilishly handsome in the moonlight." Wednesday smiled kissing his hand, then noticed the bracelet her mother had given him. Seeing their initials etched into it warmed her cold, shriveled heart.

Their sweet and wholesome moment was abruptly interrupted by the sound of a door slamming shut.

Enid: "What the hell did you do to my room?!" the werewolf shouted, causing the couple to break away from each other.

Y/N and Wednesday turned to face Enid, surprise evident on their faces.

Y/N: "Enid, we didn't do anything to your room. We just arrived here plus the color was too much on our side," he calmly explained, trying to diffuse the situation.

Enid's anger softened as she realized her mistake. She took a moment to compose herself before speaking.

Enid: "I'm sorry, it's just... its my room, I guess I overreacted. " she said, a tinge of embarrassment in her voice.

Wednesday: "maybe next time don't come barging in" Wednesday replied, her tone still a bit guarded.

Y/N: "Enid. We're still trying to settle in, but we'll respect everyone's space," Y/n reassured her, giving a nod of understanding.

Enid nodded back, a small smile returning to her face.

Enid: "If you need help or have any questions, feel free to ask. I've been here for a while, so I can show you the ropes," she offered.Wednesday's expression didn't drop. "We'll be fine on our own," she replied, disregarding Enid's gesture.
