Hunter Pov:
We walk down the isle, Jake behind me on the right, Emma behind me on the left. I was solely focused on the event so I didn't pay attention to anything else. When we reached the front we all got down on our left knee with our right arm on right knee.
"You may raise your head," Rex called out. At that we all raised our heads in unison, we hadn't planned on it. Over the last hour we had practiced this in the room to get it perfect. "Hunter, Jake, and Emma, for your deeds you will receive the following: The last name of Dire, for your resilience and benevolence that you have shown, when placing others above yourself; You will also receive credits and other rewards," Rex says.
"Hunter Dire will receive the rank of Baron, a estate near the capital of a substantial size, and 250 gold coins for his Service. Jake Dire will receive 100 gold coins and be given an opportunity to become a knight in the future for his service. Emma Dire will receive 50 gold coins and be given an opportunity to become a knight in the future for her service. Though you must wait till after school to become a knight, and Hunter, by the time you turn 18 you need to have something to sustain you and your family or you will be given a town to manage. If you cannot handle that you will lose your title. That is all," Rex finishes.
"Any Objections?," Darius calls out to see if anyone has a problem.
"Yes," Several people say. Man why are there so many that have objections to this, it is only a rank, gold, and a estate of a large size.
"They are only children!," "What did they even do?!," and, "Who are they even!," are some of the things being said.
Darius looks to Rex and Rex sighs. "Hunter rescued a battalion of 40 knights along with the Prince Theodore and Margrave Samuels children from a avalanche. He got them warm and even warded off some monsters. Their brother was poisoned so Samuel thanked them by getting the antidote. When they went back, the first town was overrun with wolves. Hunter, Jake, and Emma took them all down with some knights while the rest of the knights handled three Great Wolves," Pakora yells.
"Ok s—," Some try to speak back.
"I'm not finished! Hunter then saved Princess Aaron from being Ambushed by adventurers. All three of them then helped the town defend against a monster invasion lead by Demons. But they couldn't defeat the Great demon even with the help of the knights. That was when someone unknown, that we are still trying to find, single handedly killed it!," Pakora continues to yell.
"On their way here they also exposed a corrupt Noble who tried to kill Margrave Samuels son! People even tried to kill them on the 3rd multiple times! So tell me, do they not deserve it!," Pakora finishes yelling. I don't want to get on her bad-side. With that all nobles who were against it get back to their seats. But I guess it was ok that she left out some parts, that makes it more believable. That and adding in some parts to my knowledge.
Some people sigh, as does Rex who speaks, "The rewards will be given out later. We will have a small party as I meet with everyone then we have Jakes baptism. After that we have lunch and then we all continue on with out day. Toono will come get you when it is your turn." At that Rex leaves with his family.
At that everyone leaves and goes to the gym. It may not have been what most would think would be in a church. The ones who created the religion hundreds of years ago, apparently had them in churches before. In there you had tables on either side with snacks on them. You also had tables in the center to sit down and a stage at the back.
The stage was where the higher ranking nobles would be sitting. I was a low ranking noble with my brother and sister so we would be at the bottom. We went and got some snacks before sitting down. But as we did, we were crowded with nobles.
Most were wanting to get their children into an arranged marriage. But that was when I saw a familiar face at a different table, but it had a dark expression. I walk over and say, "Are you alright, Maleller?" He gets surprised until he sees my face.
"Not really, Courtney and Charles aren't happy at the moment. You see, the day we arrived in the Capital, Layla went missing. You know the relation so you know why I can't report it. You also know what she is, I need help but I can't ask for it," He says. I notice that the other nobles are staying away, probably due to what his brother did.
"Well, when I get a chance, I will go look with my brother. Trust me, I will find her before she disappears forever," I say and he looks at me.
"Thankyou, I will go tell the kids," He says with a smile as he walks off. There are also a bunch of kids here due to the type of event this was. I go back to the table to see Jake conversing with some kids along with Emma.
I am happy to have a family as nice as them!
