Chapter 41
(Story from the past, Pt 11)
Jake the Survivor Pov:
The reason this section was the only thing called Aqua town was simple. The entire island was a shopping island, but this was the part that was the most sophisticated. It had skyscrapers, business offices, cafeteria's, Inns, and more.
I head around eventually arriving at Pacific and enter. When I enter I see a Beast-kin cat man at the front desk. "Hello, how can I help you?," He asks me. He has trimmed hair, reddish brown in color, a tail to his knees, and green eyes.
"I am here to see one Lyndall ——, may I go up?," I ask him to which he is surprised.
"She normally turns anyone away except for her son and Grandson. I can't promise she will allow you i—," He can't finish as his mom, a friend of mine, sees me.
"It's been a while Jake, how have you been, it has been over thirty years now," Fayth says. She is a lady who had dirty blonde hair like myself in the past. Currently she has silver grey hair, brown eyes, and around my height. I meet up with her later as well.
"Great, You are the third person to recognize me since I came here that I know of. The first was Jackson, the second a random man in the guild. There was also that crowd that tried to follow me when I was being arrested. How are you these days?," I ask her.
"I have been good, but my husband died last year so I have been managing this place with my son. He refuses to marry anyone for some reason. Any way's that was what that crowd was doing, going after you?," She asks so I nod. "That makes sense due to your past achievements, anyway I will take you up to see her. Follow me!," She says going into the dining room on the other side of the counter.
I follow on my side and go to the back stairwell. As we do we leave the receptionist dumbfounded. We head up to the second level where there is a table overlooking the dining room. This is where she said to wait for Law later. We head up again where the rooms are, and one more time. "She is in this room, now she may not remember you based on how long you have been gone so take it easy. She had to raise Jackson by herself take it," She said as she called out.
Then over the next half hour I got chewed out by my wife. I had apologized and let her beat me up for most of it to relive herself. We did the same thing I did with Cariona. After that I say goodbye and head down, when I hit the second level I see Law coming in. I guess he came after all!
A little bit Earlier
Law the Third Pov:
That man Jake had just put me into the ground so I went to my fathers office. When I got there I saw him going through some old files. "Father!," I asked wanting his help. I could defeat that guy, but I would need help, I was twenty years old, had blonde hair, blue eyes, and a killer attitude.
"What is it now Law?," He asked not taking his eyes off the documents. Couldn't he just look at his son for once. He got this job right after I was born and was never there for me. So I wanted to become a adventurer to make him see me for once. But my mom would not let me until I was twenty so I had to wait.
"A man out there threw me into the ground!," I tell him, very angry.
"If you want revenge, I won't help you, also you have an appointment later. Go to Pacific in thirty minutes and tell the man at the register that you are there to see someone. He will ask who and I want you to tell him JD. He will understand and go where he tells you to. That man I am sending you to defeated a great demon single handedly. He is your uncle, who does not want it to be known that he is here. He was the one to Create Architect and was the one to hide the forbidden book," He tells me making me wonder who he is.
"Is he an adventurer?," I ask him to which he laughs. "What's so funny?," I ask him again.
"I will tell you this, he had never heard of adventurers until two years ago at most. He defeated the great demon before that without weapons. He killed the evil Hero who tried to end the world! The reason he heard about adventurers so late is because he was hiding the book. You have already met him, so just go already," He tells me to which I leave confused.
I had never met him before so how could he have met me. I had never seen my uncle as he left before my existence was known to anyone. He spent thirty years hiding a book almost no-one could read! Why would my father, who never cared about me, care about him!
I arrive at Pacific and enter to see the normal receptionist. "Hey Mr. Russel, I am here to see someone," I tell him.
"Ok, who is it you are seeing?," He asks wondering who I am meeting.
"My father said his name was JD," I tell him, but he doesn't respond. Instead his mom responds.
"You said JD, he is waiting for you on the second level seating. Just head up the stairs in the back and you will find him," Fayth says and I thank her as I leave.
I walk into the main dining room, it is semi busy, not much for the later half of the day. I look to the second floor as I go up to see something familiar but I can't place it. He looked at me but immediately away and sat down.
I walk up and the second I do I see, a great sword, a sword, and a bow against the wall. That was the same as that man Jake's, why are they here. I look at the man to see Jake from the guild as he says, "It's been a minute, nephew."
This man is my uncle!
