Chapter 42

Henry Pov:

We had gotten to read more over the past several days as the snow stopped father from getting work. We were inside playing a bit, taking a break from the story. We had just heard how Jake the Survivor had gotten his first apprentice. There was a lot of things that were censored due to the confidentiality of it.

It was just after breakfast and Emma asked, "Who wants to build a snowman!" This took all of us by surprise because, we don't know what a snowman is.

"What is a snowman?," Aaron asks, curious.

"Don't you know? You take snow shaping it into three different size balls around three, two, and one feet in diameter. From there you stack them up like that, add coal for eyes and mouth, and a carrot for the nose. Do you not do that?," She asks.

"Well, no, that was the first we heard of it, but how about we try it!," I say scratching my chin before raising my arms in the air.

"Yay!," Emma said and we got up to go. "First, lets get some heavy weather gear!," She said to our surprise.

"What do you mean, we will be fine in the regular stuff," Hannah tells her.

"But weren't you guys freezing when you went up the mountain?," Emma points out. At that we feel like we have just been stabbed, by the words! "When ever it was very cold in the glacier we would put on gear. But it was warmer there than it is out here mind you. So Jake, when we were last there, made me a bunch of heavy weather gear," She said.

"Can we try it on?" I ask remembering that we were around the same build as her family.

"Yeah, just let me pull it out!," She said taking her bag and pulling out five sets of gear.

"Where did you get that?!," Samuel asks surprised that she had a magic bag, and one that big. He had been walking around the halls lately.

"It was a gift from my brother, he said the size was around about twenty square feet. Other than that it stops time inside, it can't take living things in it though. It also stops temperatures from changing and other things. One of those is if someone try's to steal it, all the weight of everything inside will return to normal. Why do you ask?," Emma says casually.

Does she not know that most magic bags start at one square foot and go up to five square feet! Anything above that is national treasures and those just can't be stolen. An I have never heard of those options that she just pointed out, the only place I have heard them is legends!

"No, never mind, just don't show that to anyone. You may receive unwanted attention if it is noticed Emma. Well, have fun!," He tells us as we put on the gear and head out.

The gear was made of furs from monsters it seemed. You had the pants which were soft, fluffy, and comfy on the inside. On the outside they were smooth and slick, but strong all the same. It was the same for the jacket which served as a protector for us.

The cold barley affects us, and we are glad for these. The knights have gear on the same level as this since they have to patrol all the time. We headed out the back door and met the pets of Emma's family. They were currently with us as we built what Emma had mentioned.

We got bored soon and Emma suggested, "Why don't we go check on the guards!" We all nodded at that and got ready to go. It was to cold for horses so we would have to walk there. The horses did not have fluffy jackets to protect themselves from the cold.

Emma gets on Sunny, and Aaron warily gets on Night to Emma's suggestion. The reason for that is she was a princess and could get dirty. But she got on as well since she should not be walking. It was not as if anyone could see us though in this weather and clothes. The slimes stayed behind on the other hand though.

Theo rode with Aaron as she was not that comfortable and I carried Hannah as a good older brother. My father was a stern believer of the Architects sacred code. He was one of the few nobles other than royalty on the council. They met once a year during the summer, but in case of dangers, they would meet as soon as possible. There were also those chosen by the president that had great achievements.

It did not matter what they did in the past that much when assigned to the council. Not much is known about other nations nobles that are on it. I only know that a royalty from each country and some nobles from our country are on it. From my knowledge, the king, my father, and Merlnor Bagnor are on it.

I stop my thinking as we arrive at the guard post and head inside after everyone gets down from their rides. We enter and close the door to the knights surprise. "So how have your guy's shifts been!," I ask cheerily.

"It has been good, why do you ask lord Henry?," One calls out.

"We wanted to come check up on you and see if there was anything to report. An we wanted to try it out for ourselves," Theo says to which everyone laughs a bit. That certainly made the mood happier in this bad weather.

"Well, seeing how well those clothes are made, you can follow me now. I was just about to head out, but my shift partner got sick," Another says. We nod and follow him to the door and head out into the blizzard.

We head along the wall chatting as the wind whooshes by. "So, how many monsters have you seen?," Hannah asks him.

"None, it seems as if they are staying away for some reason. It is incredibly unusual, normally they would swarm in this weather," He responds.

"I see," Hannah responds petting Sunny.

"We better get back, we can't stay out for long," He says as we head back. But as we do I see something as night falls and the nine moons rise. Each one representing a living continent section. Though there is a tenth, it is hidden behind them all and is for the places between the sections. Though in ancient times it stood for the lost Section.

I use the little magic I have to improve my sight. The next thing I see are hundreds of monsters made up of, wolves, goblins, orcs, and more coming. "Sir, look, monsters!," I tell him to which we run for the barracks.

"We got monsters, everyone suit up!,"
