Chapter 4 - Billionaire's Strange Attraction

Billionaire Alexander Reynolds sat in his luxurious office, overlooking the city skyline. He was about to make a life-changing proposition to the talented tech genius, Anne Jonnes. He had heard of her remarkable achievements already and knew that she was the perfect person to join his tech company as his personal assistant.

As Anne entered the room, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the opulence surrounding her. She came from humble beginnings, and the thought of working for a billionaire was beyond her wildest dreams. Alexander stood up and greeted her warmly.

"Anne, it's a pleasure to meet you," he said, extending his hand. "I've been following your work closely, and I must say, you're truly remarkable."

Anne blushed, unable to believe what she was hearing. "Thank you, Mr. Reynolds. It's an honor to be considered for this position."

Alexander smiled and continued, "Anne, I would like to offer you the role of my personal assistant. Not only will you have the opportunity to work closely with me, but I'm prepared to offer you a monthly salary of six million dollars."

Anne's jaw dropped in disbelief. The figure seemed unreal. She had always struggled to make ends meet, and now she was being presented with an unimaginable sum of money. Overwhelmed and touched by Alexander's generosity, she fought back tears.

Despite his initial anger at Anne's emotional reaction, Alexander decided to recruit her. He knew that he had to put her through rigorous tests to gauge her technical abilities. He wanted to ensure that she was truly the right fit for his tech company.

For days, Anne was put through a series of challenging technical tests. She was pushed to her limits, working long hours and solving complex problems. However, Anne never faltered. Her brilliance shone through, and she surpassed every expectation.

Impressed by her unwavering dedication and extraordinary talent, Alexander couldn't help but feel a growing admiration for Anne. He saw in her a determination and resilience that he had rarely encountered.

One evening, after a long day at work, Anne visited her comatose father at the hospital. She held his hand and tearfully shared the news of her new job and the astronomical salary she would be receiving. Her heart ached, knowing that her father couldn't witness her success"

As she poured out her emotions, Anne couldn't help but feel a mixture of joy and sadness. She wished her father could wake up and share in her happiness. With tears streaming down her face, she whispered, "I'll make you proud, Dad."

Inside Alexander's mansion, the billionaire retreated to his bedroom, a place that reflected his enigmatic personality. The room was breathtakingly beautiful, adorned in gold and luxury. A personal swimming pool shimmered in the dim light, and expensive artwork adorned the walls.

Although the room was opulent, it lacked natural light, amplifying the darkness that seemed to emanate from Alexander's psyche. It was a sanctuary where he could disconnect from the outside world and be alone with his thoughts.

Within the shadows of the mansion, Alexander's closest confidant, Eugene, casually called Gene by everyone in the mansion, a powerful vampire, joined him in his bedroom. The two shared a bond that surpassed the boundaries of ordinary friendship. As they conversed, Alexander couldn't help but confide in Eugene about his inexplicable attraction to Anne.

"I don't understand it, Eugene," Alexander confessed, frustration evident in his voice. "She's just my assistant, yet I find myself drawn to her. It's perplexing."

Eugene, with his ancient wisdom, looked at Alexander knowingly. "Perhaps it is her resilience, her brilliance, and her genuine nature that captivate you. Love has a way of finding us, even in the most unexpected places. In spite of this about love, you know it can't work on you. You still cannot be conquered by love. I guess there is something else to that attraction for her."

"Like what?" Alex asked eagerly.

Eugene shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe if I could meet her..."

Meanwhile, a woman named Isabella, who had long admired Alexander's wealth and power, heard about Anne's recruitment. Isabella, though rich herself, was known for her rudeness and demanding nature. She called Alexander, declaring her intention to visit his house uninvited.

As Isabella's voice filled the air, Alexander's irritation grew. He had no interest in Isabella, as her personality clashed with his own. Determined not to let her intrusion ruin his conversation with Eugene, Alexander politely told Isabella that he was busy and hung up.

Unfazed by the billionaire's dismissal, Isabella arrived at Alexander's mansion. She rode the elevator to his rooms' lounge, but not directly to the bedroom, with an air of entitlement. When she entered, she found Alexander engrossed in a conversation with Eugene. Isabella's face contorted with anger.

"What's this, Alexander?" she snapped, her tone dripping with disdain. "You have time for your assistant, but you can't spare a moment for me? I demand an explanation!"

Alexander, taken aback by her audacity, calmly responded, "Isabella, I made it clear that I am occupied at the moment. I suggest you leave."

Incensed, Isabella stormed out of the room, her anger fueling her every step.

Meanwhile, Anne, accompanied by Annabelle and David, embarked on a fishing excursion to celebrate her new job with Alexander. They chose a serene lake, away from the bustling city, where they could unwind and revel in Anne's success.

Sitting on the dock, their fishing lines cast into the calm waters, Anne couldn't contain her excitement. She shared stories about her tests, the challenges she had overcome, and the brilliance she had witnessed in Alexander's tech company.

Annabelle and David listened attentively, their admiration for Anne evident. They rejoiced in her triumphs, cherishing this moment of respite in the midst of their busy lives.

'I think he really realized your capabilities to have recruited you like that. If not, the almighty Alexander Reynolds won't have chosen you to be by his side always over many people. Now, both of you.will have to go to certain places together outside business life,'said Annabelle and the others affirmed to her."But how did he know about you?"

Anne shrugged,"He should have...when I threw something in his car. "

"Is that the only reason?"

"What else?" asked.Anne cluelessly

"Don't you think he did a background test on you?"

"Background what?"
