As Alex and Anne moved on in the scorching area, Anne asked,
"Mr Reynolds. Don't you think your girlfriend is not okay with me always being by your side playing the personal assistant?"
Alex, surprised by the line of her expression, asked,"My girlfriend? I do not have any"
"I am talking about the woman that..."
"Do you mean Isabella?" He asked but she could remember she did not know someone bearing that name. "I am talking about the woman who called now."
"Isabella? That's her name?" She mumbled to herself but Alex heard, and he broke into her thoughts.
"Everybody thinks she is my real girlfriend judging from how clingy she is, but the truth is she is only after my assets- nothing else."
"Gosh, what a woman!" She sneered."But why have you not dumped her, Mr Reynolds? "
"Dumped?" He imagined that kind of question even after he made it clear to her now that she is only foisting. Then Anne corrected herself early and he replied, "My family wants me to marry her not knowing how different she may look at times from deep down her. I do not even have the right to choose whom I want to settle with."
"What if I ask who it is?"
"Huh?" He asked, not understanding her.
"I mean, who you personally want to marry."
He snickered for long, quite embarrassing her amidst the crowd in that place. He drew closer to her and nodded,"No, no, no, no. Absolutely nobody " and he walked forward alone.
She inhaled and exhaled, "What a man too! There is a pre-structured bond for him and that fairy woman, really!"
"Walk faster", he said.
" I am doing so right now. The load is too heavy for me," she told him." I am a personal assistant, not an errand girl, boy. How could he even buy all these dresses and shoes when he is not a fashionista. "
She caught up with him and the load started to take a toll on her. She silently complained to herself about the burden, not realizing that Alex had overheard.
With a mischievous smile, Alex suddenly took all the bag from Anne's hands. He effortlessly carried the load as if it were light as a feather. Anne watched in surprise as he effortlessly moved forward.
"You see, Anne," Alex teased, "I may be a billionaire, but I can handle my own load. Don't worry about it."
Anne blushed, realizing that Alex had been listening to her silent complaints. She quickly tried to grab the files back, fearing that her salary would be affected. But Alex was only joking, and he playfully pulled his leg away, laughing at her reaction.
...
Isabella sat in her luxurious villa, sipping a glass of champagne. The image of Anne answering Alex's call yesterday flashed in her mind, fueling her anger. She knew she had to confront Anne in person and see for herself the woman who had caught Alex's attention.
"Williams," she called out to her standby bodyguard, "make preparations for my trip to Pinsoft. I want to personally meet Alex's personal assistant, Anne."
Inside his CEO office, Alexander swung back and forth in his chair, seemingly without a care in the world. Anne, on the other hand, was busy arranging his schedules for the next day on her laptop. Alex couldn't understand why she was putting so much effort into tomorrow's tasks when there was still today to deal with.
"Anne," he called out, "why don't you wrap up for the day and continue with the schedule at home? There's no need to stress yourself."
Anne fixed a firm gaze on him, her eyes conveying a mix of determination and exhaustion. "I prefer to finish everything before I leave, sir. I sleep early at night, and if I leave any work pending, I won't be able to catch up. So please, don't disturb me anymore."
Amused by her response, Alex pulled his coat off the chair and made his way towards her. He gestured for her to leave the office, and she followed him, slightly puzzled by his actions. As they walked through the company lobby, they realized they were the only ones left in the building.
Alex turned to Anne, a playful smile on his face. "You know, Anne, you wasted a good few minutes of my time today."
Anne blinked, not fully comprehending what he meant. Before she could respond, Alex continued, "Well, since it's just the two of us, I'll be taking you home today."
Surprised by his offer, Anne hesitated for a moment. "But sir, what about your bodyguards?"
"I asked them not to come today," Alex replied casually. "Consider this a special treat. Now, get in the car."
Anne couldn't help but feel a mixture of apprehension and excitement. She climbed into the car, and as Alex drove out of the company parking lot, little did they know that Isabella's car was parked on the other side of the street. Isabella watched them from a distance, seething with anger.
"Mmm, Anne," Isabella muttered to herself, her eyes fixed on Alex's car. "You really are something."
Alex parked his sleek, black sports car in front of Anne's modest house, catching the attention of her neighbors and causing whispers to spread through the neighborhood. Annabelle and David had just returned from a trip to the grocery store when they noticed the luxurious vehicle.
Flabbergasted and intrigued, they exchanged bewildered glances before approaching the car cautiously. As they got closer, they couldn't believe their eyes as they saw Anne stepping out of the passenger seat, looking both surprised and delighted to see them.
She quickly moved into their midst and their unavoidable glances made Alex peep his head through the car window and said hello.
"Who's he? He's the bill...." Anne shut her up when she knew what she was about to say and told Alex he could leave then.
"You can go now, Mr Reynolds. Thanks for the ride."
Alex, in his pompous attitude, said with a smile," Never mention. Consider this a special treat and don't try to forget. I am leaving. Bye."
Anne, surprised by his strange action, scoffed silently, "What has come over him acting up this way?"
"Bye, Anne. Try to have a nice day and do not forget to finish my schedule."
"Finish my schedule?!" Annabelle knew at the moment that it was Anne's billionaire boss but he was already gone.
"MR REYNOLDS!" She shouted and David joined her in the madness.
