"Okay, let me put it straight forward to make the answer easy for you. Is that woman, you claimed you raped your mate?"
Flabbergasted, Noah sensed a hot sweet drop from under his armpit in his widely spread hands that spoke only of shock. For the second time, he faced palmed.
Despite Lux telling him that he should never let anyone know, he too was not ready to let Becky know, and neither was he ready to reject his mate knowing how painful it would be.
Going through such pain of mate rejection was something he didn't dream of for now, until his father had fully recovered.
By some bitter force, he kept his lips unconsciously shut while she waited for him to give her a reason to at least believe in him, but he was too afraid that if he answered 'yes' she would spark and definitely shift.
With his silence, Becky began to give him her piece of mind.
"Two years ago, I rejected my mate because of you, to tell you how much I love you and to let you know how much I want you beside me. But what have you done? You fooled me.
You made me believe that you have not met your mate since this current month. You said to me that you would reject her immediately if you met and if possible kill her instantly, that was what you told me two months ago before your father was shot. Now, what... W—what have you done, Noah?"
Becky's voice broke, and dripping down her eyes were tears, cold and sizzling tears of a betrayed and broken heart.
Noah's tongue felt dry, every attempt he made to speak sent a feeling like a burning rubber to his throat down to his stomach where it knotted and churned him.
Suddenly her voice picked up again, so loud that Noah marvelled at all she was saying. "You lied to me, Noah. You lied to me! You have said all that to get my money. Now you've got what you wanted, I'm sure you will give up on me too, right?!"
Becky cried until her knees felt weak again, even now that Noah was trying to hold her still, she couldn't get hold of herself.
Noah's eyes bore into hers, shaking his head to make her understand that whoever said those things was a demonic soulless liar.
"Your silence is making me believe all they said to me."
"Who said that you? Tell me who's feeding you with such lies?"
"It doesn't matter! Don't bother asking me! Just tell the truth!"
"Heavens Becky! You know I love you even though I kept that from you until I said it last night. Have you forgotten our moments ago?"
"Those moments were fake." She felt aggrieved.
"No, that's not true. Those words I said are true and sincere from my heart. What you're accusing me of is totally false."
"If it's false, then why are you not explaining things to me? You promised me—"
"Yes, I know I promised you all that but, Becky I can't reject her now because of my dying father."
Becky scoffed inwardly. 'It's all because of your dying father again.'
"Then you should have told me that you've met her, why didn't you?"
"Because it should be a secret." Noah frustratedly blurted without thinking.
"Oh, oh, so it has to be a secret?" Becky scoffed and shook her head. Just then his lips hung again at what he said.
A taut, humourless, bitter laughter escaped Becky's lips as her fist, jaws, brows and almost all the parts of her body forcefully clenched.
Noah looked eagerly at her. That was not the type of secret he wanted her to understand, but...
Turning her back, it was a game over.
"Becky wait, let's talk about this hold on."
This time, Noah didn't give her space to outrun him. He blocked her way and sized her up, grasping her neck, he pulled her lips to his.
Maybe a kiss would bring back her senses. But she forced her lips off immediately.
"Don't you dare kiss me!"
"Becky, sweetheart!"
"Let me go! Don't sweetheart me!" Becky screamed.
"And if you dare continue to follow me, I will call the police and accuse you of assaulting me! You know what I can do Noah, I promise you I won't think twice when unleashing my anger, so keep your distance from me. Last warning!"
Of course, Noah knew that whenever Becky warned, nothing said could undo her anger unless she decided to let go in her own time but... It was unlike Becky to lose herself easily, who is that person feeding her with these lies all of a sudden?
From a distance, he watched her drive out of the hilly road where she had parked her car far from the glaring cameras set on Noah's pack house.
★====★
From a distance in the hill, were two eyes scrutinizing every move Noah and Becky made. A happy smile was written on their faces.
Doctor Peters faced Sadie.
"I must compliment you for doing a great job. How did you come up with those lies, telling her that Noah had met Joseline for a month now and he is keeping that from her just to defraud her?"
Sadie circled her hands around his waist and said, "You know that Becky is a very strong and brave woman,
Even though I used some spells to trap and infiltrate her mind with lies and jealousy, she needed extra manipulation to get her on our side. We have to make her believe that Noah doesn't love her. I just had to make everything seem in her eyes that Noah was duping her to get what he wants."
Doctor Peters nodded at Sadie's braveness. "But do you think that Becky would believe us?"
"A jealous woman is always easy to deceive. I'm sure we succeeded in putting a lot of jealousy in Becky's heart. Also, Noah wouldn't be able to defend himself with Becky's storming questions. Let's just hope that this will turn out good for us. Just look at the two there, their actions are speaking, I don't think the atmosphere is pleasant over there."
Doctor Peters nodded, he had on a gentle smile.
"Is the poison you injected in Alpha Maverick still working?" Sadie asked folding her arms across her chest.
"I'm sure that the poison is working perfectly well. Doctor Leo thinks that it's an injection that will heal the bullet poison. So sad what will become of Maverick and his son soon."
Sadie gave off a devious laugh kissing Doctor Peters on his lips. Her eyes bore into his and she whispered, "What do you plan to do with Noah?"
"For now, we will keep making it look like he is using Becky. That way, Becky would strike faster and I'm sure she would find every possible way to eliminate Joseline and her wolf before their power begins to grow. You know that Noah is now the only one that can cause the death of his mate now. If Becky is manipulated enough to persuade Noah to kill Joseline and destroy Lux, then I'm totally sure that everything will fall in place for us."
"Good, that's a suitable plan." Sadie nodded, her happiness overboard on her face.
"Now we have to keep feeding Becky with lies. We will make Becky be the one to poison Noah, and by then Joseline's powers have been completely destroyed." Saying this, Doctor Peters traced his fingers on Sadie's lips. "You are a very brave woman, that's why I chose you from the very start."
Sadie chuckled and responded softly to Doctor Peters kissing her all over her face.
"Now, how are we going to take care of Evangeline? She would surely come to protect her grandchild and we need to make sure that Becky doesn't learn that Joseline is getting married this night. You know if she finds out that she's getting married, then I'm sure she wouldn't believe us."
"Then we will have to do something to stop the marriage. We will make it appear that Joseline rejected her fiance because she was after Noah. With that, Becky will definitely believe us. For Joseline's grandmother Evangeline..." Doctor Peters paused and brought out a box. Opening the box, he brought out a white bottle.
"Silver poison?" Sadie exclaimed with wide eyes.
"Yes, and just one shot will kill without mercy."
"Perfect, perfect," Sadie exclaimed with complete excitement.
