At this point, Doctor Peters who had been watching and smiling deviously from a distance entered Noah's room. Pretentiously, he looked more concerned than a mother toward her child as he walked towards Noah.
"Oh my goodness, Noah. What happened here?!" He ran towards the floor where Noah had finally squatted down, wrapping his arms around his body.
"Uncle Peters, why are things always turning so bad for me? What have I and my father done to deserve this?" Noah questioned weakly.
"What is wrong? You can talk to me, you know I'm always here for you." Doctor Peters took Noah's hands into his, acting like the most caring father in the world.
"Uncle, it's about my girlfriend."
"You mean Becky? What about her?"
"I don't know uncle but all of a sudden, she accused me of so many things I didn't do. She believes I am making a fool out of her."
"Have you tried talking to her? Maybe you have to talk some senses into her brain. You know how women are."
"Yes, uncle I did but she didn't believe me. I'm afraid I don't know how to explain things to her."
Hearing this Doctor Peters smiled inwardly. Good plan working perfectly well.
"So what do you plan to do?"
"I will make sure I find whoever they are and make them pay for it. If I can endure all things, this one, I won't let it slide."
'Perfect!' Doctor Peters exclaimed internally.
"Who do you think must have infiltrated her mind?" Doctor Peters asked making his gaze fall on Doctor Leo.
Doctor Leo caught Doctor Peters's attention and also he noticed that Noah had followed Doctor Peters's line of attention to him.
"What if it's the people within your roof?" Doctor Peters asked, his pretentious gaze not leaving Leo.
"Noah, you know I can never do that to you. You have to believe me. I can never bring myself to betray you, believe me, Noah." Doctor Leo lowered his head immediately.
"Don't be in a hurry, no one has accused you yet." Doctor Peters said, making his statement come as a matter of fact which in another way made a clear accusation.
Doctor Leo could only leave his mouth open, unable to pinpoint if Peters was really accusing him. Though his words came out concerned and sincere, there was something strange about it he noticed.
As if that reminded Noah of something, he stood and in a blink, he hovered in front of Doctor Leo.
"You're among those who are so close to me and can find out about things happening even when I'm not looking. So tell me, if it's not you, who is it?" Noah spoke in a cold voice.
"I don't know Noah, believe me. You have to believe me. I'm telling the truth."
"It can also be the ladies, Noah. You know how ladies are, when they seem they can't get what they want they tend to destroy it. There must be a lady doing that here."
"That's not true..." A defensive voice shouted from the doorway. All eyes turned to see Livia standing there, though she dared interrupt when the men were speaking, her almost white hand was clear evidence that fear had drained her blood.
How dare she interrupt?!
Now not only Livia was standing at the doorway, but Noah's beta Elvis was also there. He had also heard the shattering sound. But he remained silent, also trying to understand what was happening.
Doctor Peters smiled at Livia, no matter he was mad she interrupted him, he still had that smile because he knew the fire he was gently igniting.
Before Livia defended herself further since she was the only lady Doctor Peters was obviously talking about, Noah already defended Livia which in turn surprised Doctor Peters.
"I don't think Livia can do that to me. She would never do that to me, right Livia?" Noah stated in a sure tone.
"Yes, yes, that's true. I can never do that to you. You know me from the very start." Livia clasps her chest, her mind washed with ease.
"There must be someone who is doing that to you here." Doctor Peters started pacing the room like some evil spirit was chasing him in every spot he stood. He began to make sure no one would point fingers at him. If Noah trusted all his people, he might end up suspecting him.
"There must be someone hiding it from you. Only if you take strong action will you find them. This is the same thing that happened to your father. Because of his kind heart, he ended up falling into the trap of those stabbing him when he was unaware of it!
Take action, Noah! Force them to speak! Do you want to be like your weak father?! That would be a huge shame!" Doctor Peters added more action to his words.
This was another way Doctor Peters was executing his plans. Making Noah accuse and punish his people would spark more hatred towards him. Therefore, it will point down to one person whom they will accuse of infiltrating his mind. And that person was his mate.
If all hated Noah's mate, that would mean a faster destruction and he was desperate to achieve his aim.
"Like I told you, Noah, if you don't give up your warm heart and adopt the cold heart. Then all the help I have given to you and your father to keep him alive is useless. You can't just be a leader when your people plot against you and succeed. You will still end up like your father if care is not taken. Don't be a shameless weak Alpha!"
The words of Doctor Peters stormed like a merciless commander on a battlefield. He was a genius in stirring up anger.
Noah felt ashamed now he was reprimanded in front of his people. Though they all know him and his father to be weak, he hates it when one throws the fact at his face. That was a huge humiliation he had not learned to endure. He felt enraged by Doctor Peters's words.
Noah began to glare at them one after another. The fierce gaze they spotted on his face made them shiver, each wanted to defend themselves, but from what? How really will they defend what they know nothing about? Isn't this a whole lot of drama right now?
So much anger and hostility radiated from Noah's demeanour and all in the room continued hyperventilating except Doctor Peters who was smiling inwardly. He felt enthusiastic to see the negative effect his words had taken on Noah.
Noah found meaning in Doctor Peters's words. What if truly his betas had planned Joseline's kidnapping for a purpose? What if someone among his men was interested in Becky so he sort to break them apart?
This time he completely forgot the prophecy Lux explained to him.
"You all know how much I love Becky. You all know all that she had done for me! But someone amongst you is putting lies in her mind, making her hate me for no reason."
Like a thunder strike, Noah's voice boomed, "TELL ME THE TRUTH!" The room resonated with a roar.
"No one should lie to me! I have never harmed any of you. Absolutely no one! But this time, I might not know what to do if I found out someone had been lying to me. So if you're the one speak up now! IF NOT...."
"Wha—wh—what if it's someone outside this pack who must have lied to her, Noah? Please do believe us. We can never betray you." Doctor Leo tried to defend further.
"Who can it be aside from someone from here?!"
"Um...Ah...Ste—Stessy. I remember that girl who always followed Becky. She might have something to do with it. I noticed she had often visited this pack more than she did before. Last I could remember she hated here too, but now she no more. What if..."
"What if what you're saying is not true!" Elvis yelled, interrupting from where he stood.
Hah! Another confused accusation! Doctor Peters smiled at what he was seeing.
"Be careful how you accuse someone, Doctor Leo!" Elvis was so defensive which raised some surprised suspicious brows.
"Then if it's not Stessy who then is it?" Noah grabbed Elvis by his neck.
Why was he always the first to receive his punishments?
Elvis didn't know how to defend Stessy, how could he when she all the time talk about her best friend's relationship with Noah?
"I am giving you only a few hours to find Stessy. Bring her to me. Make sure Becky never finds out I have her here. Make sure no one finds out you're taking her here. I must question her myself. Do you understand me?" Noah deadpanned.
Elvis nodded, his heart was totally broken. His head raced with questions.
How could they accuse Stessy?
How would she save Stessy from this?
