Three days have passed by quickly, and Hideshi has mostly adapted to life in the Pokémon world.
I no longer get surprised when meeting Pokémon. At the same time, I am also able to talk to each classmate, teacher, and neighbours without raising suspicion. In these three days, I have been planning one thing, and that is capturing my first Pokemon.
Hideshi understands that given his family background, the first Pokemon must be easy to feed, or else he wouldn't be able to afford it.
Bug Type and Grass Type Pokemon are the cheapest Pokemon to feed and raise in this world.
When you live in the Kanto Region there are not a lot of strong Pokémon that can be raised cheaply however if you are in my situation you can't be picky!
In order to capture my own Pokemon, the original Hideshi saved money by going to the forest to pick berries and sell them for money. Sometimes he will even work part-time to help the neighbours to get a little money.
In the end, I now have a total of 20,000 yen saved up. The price of a Poké Ball in the store is 500 yen, which is the same price in the game.
An ordinary red and white Poké Ball can be used for 20 years without external damage, so the price of 500 yen can be said to be very cheap.
But for other items, such as a Potion, the price is 300 yen. But it can only be used a couple of times before being used up and this is only the cheapest Potion, other Potion are more expensive.
An average family's monthly income is only 4000-5000 yen. Most families can only raise one Pokemon at most, and some families do not even have Pokemon.
So raising one Pokemon is often seen as a luxury by a common family, but to raise more, there is no way. Let alone one of the family members become a trainer. Which is why Hideshi saves money so it is less of a hassle later.
Now what should be considered is how to capture your first Pokemon.
Hideshi went to the town Poké-Mart and bought two Poké Balls, a bug net, and some Pokemon food and trap Items.
Buying these cost him 3,000 yen, after the purchase he felt a stab in his heart at how quickly months of hard work disappeared to but in order to guard against the unexpected, he has to make sure he is prepared.
The area I am heading to is one where I used to run around with the Youngster Bug Catcher outside of town, and the place I've been to the most in the Viridian Forest.
Of course, I never dared to go deeper than the outer areas of Viridian Forest (wouldn't want to get eaten by a lone Scyther). After all, the outer areas are all filled with weak Pokemon which is much safer for a 10-year old child. As long as you pay attention, you don't have to worry about harm.
Every time Hideshi sees a random Trainer entering the depths of the Viridian forest, he is very envious, envious that they have a strong ability to travel everywhere which he does not.
They aren't afraid of the dangerous forest and can go deep into it to challenge the more powerful Pokemon and conquer even stronger Pokemon. These all are the reasons why Hideshi wants to become Trainer.
The Pokemon of the Youngster Bug Catcher in town are all caught in the periphery of the Viridian forest. Common Pokemon like Catterpie and Weedle are very easy to catch.
Hideshi is especially excited when he thinks about catching his own Pokemon right away.
When I watched Pokémon in my previous life, I dreamed that one day I could have my own Pokemon. Now it will soon become a reality how could I not be excited to think about what my first Pokemon will be?
Hideshi took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down as he steps into the Viridian forest.
I felt my eyes were a little itchy. I rubbed my eyes vigorously and moved on without thinking.
But no one saw the azure rays of light flashing into Hideshi's eyes, causing it to light up because as quickly as it came it disappeared.
As soon as I entered the Viridian forest, there was a hint of grass Fragrance in the air, which made me feel relaxed and joyful.
The warm sunshine spread across every inch. The lush and green trees surrounded me.
The grass, the smell of the earth assaults the senses. Although the original body has seen this countless times, in Hideshi's previous life, he never had the opportunity to see this kind of scenery in front of him.
The voice of Pokemon and their silhouette can be faintly seen in front of him.
Now Hideshi should consider what Pokemon to catch. First of all, the best first catches are Catterpie and Weedle.
These two kinds of Pokemon are the most common and cheapest to raise so are the best Pokemon for him to catch currently.
Before they evolved into Butterfree and Beedrill, their battle strength was weak and negligible.
So even a normal kid can beat them, so Catterpie and Weedle are the ones he had the most practice catching as a Youngster Bug Catcher.
Compared with Catterpie and Weedle, the capture difficulty of other Pokemon is huge even though Weedles are slightly more difficult to catch than Catterpies.
To catch these two Pokemon, Hideshi asked for tips from other Youngster Bug Catchers in town. And was given advice on how to make a simple trap hidden in the grass by using Pokémon food to lure nearby Pokemon into traps, and then use a Poké Ball to catch them directly. Anyway, most weak Pokemon have a high probability of being captured by this method.
Hideshi found a hidden patch of grass and dug a small hole. The trap was set up, and some food that was very appealing to Pokemon was placed on it.
Then went into the bush to the side and waited quietly. While squatting in the bush, Hideshi remembered a conversation between his father and him last night.
During dinner last night, with his father sitting at the dinner table he suddenly asked Hideshi "Son, your heading to catch Pokemon tomorrow, right?"
Hideshi nodded. His father carried on "From when you were young, I have always known that you loved Pokemon. Now you are at the age to have a Pokemon. Please remember to be safe tomorrow. It doesn't matter if you can't catch Pokemon yourself. I can always find someone to help you get one."
After speaking, he took out a stack of money from his pocket and handed it to Hideshi. "Here is the money to get some Poké Balls for yourself did you think you could catch one by yourself?"
...
Suddenly, a sudden change brought Hideshi's thoughts back. He peaked his head outside the bush and looked out, it was a Pidgey.
Pidgey is like any other bird. Its feather colours are unremarkable.
The feathers on the belly and the end of the wings are white, and the other parts are brown.
It has Black patches around its eyes and the beak and claws are purple.
There are three tufts of hair on the top of its head, and the hair on both sides is white, making it look a little serious.
I saw this Pidgey as it flew over in a daze and destroyed the trap, and then gobbled up all the food.
Hideshi was delighted when he saw it and secretly took out a Poké Ball from his pocket.
Since Pidgey didn't see him, he immediately aimed and threw the Poké Ball in his hand.
Just when it was about to hit, Pidgey suddenly felt something coming and immediately use its wings to fly away causing the Poké Ball to miss. and then lose one's head out of fear and fly away.
Angry at the Poké Ball for trying to "attack it" it files down and takes the Poké Ball in its talons.
When I saw the Pidgey flying away with the Poké Ball I muttered "Not good" and hurried out to chase it, but the Pidgey had quickly disappeared.
Going back to the trap, to take a look at it trap I say, "Fortunately, the Items are not broken."
Hideshi then rearranged it again, then went back to the bush to wait patiently.
...
After a while, there was another movement. I saw a Bug Type Pokémon get trapped, and it seemed that it could not get out.
It is a Catterpie.
Catterpie looks like a worm, and its most distinctive feature is the Y-shaped red tentacles on its head.
There are two pairs of gastropods. The back is green and the abdomen is white.
Yellow ring markings on both sides of the body.
This time, Hideshi hurried over and touched Catterpie with a Poké Ball. A white light flashed by, and Catterpie was taken into the Poké Ball.
His hand is shaking constantly when suddenly the front switch flashes for the third time.
"ding"
The Poké Ball stops shaking, which means the capture is successful.
Hideshi released Catterpie excitedly and carefully observed it. But soon frowned.
