As he moved closer towards the source of smell, he saw various people in PPE kits rushing from one room to another. There were thick vault like doors and they were opening them one by one. Among them, there was a door which was surrounded by crowd of people. Alan moved closer and he pierced through the crowd to see what was happening. As he reached the front, he saw a thick metal door with a small glass window in the middle. Several people were trying to peek through that window. Alan pushed them aside and looked through. On the other side, an unconscious Mark was laying on the floor and an agitated Rui was writhing and screaming in pain. However, those screams were suffocated by the metal door.
Alan's pupil shrank in shock. The two most important people of his life were laying right infront of him. The one who was his one and only family and the other who just called him friend today. Both of these people were now fallen, right in front of his eyes. The irony is, the hospital and it's white walls that used to haunt him, were now covered in the scent of roses. As if Rui was still protecting him through that miserable pain. Alan felt several emotions at once. He didn't know what to say or do. The sight behind that small glass window was just too painful.
" Open the door." Alan banged his fist against the door. " I said, open this damn door!"
He ruthlessly kicked the door making a dent on the metal.
" Young man, I suggest you stop or else you will break your bones." A doctor who was waiting in front uttered. " We can't open the door right now or everyone present here will get stimulated into heat. The density of pheromones is really high inside. If anyone dared to go in, they will most probably lose their life. The only solution is that the alpha inside must Mark that omega or both of them will die due to asphyxiation."
"Just let me go inside." Alan moved toward that person and grabbed his hand, " Sir, please. The people inside are my friends. Please let me go in. I can save them. Please tell them to open the door."
" I understand that you are desperate at this moment but believe me, if you went in right now, you will risk your life. I am sorry, but according to the safety norms, we can't open this door until the air quality inside becomes breathable." The doctor replied.
Before Alan could reply, someone pulled him by arm. " What the hell are you doing?"
Alan turned around and replied, " Mrs. Smith! Rui....she is awake and trapped ..."
" I know. But what are you doing here?" Mrs. Smith asked with absolute disgust. " Do you even know what will these people do if they found that you were a savage? Why are you causing trouble here?"
" But Rui...she needs me." Alan replied with his head hanging low.
" What did you say? She needs you? All Rui needs right now is an alpha. Once he bites her nape, everything will become normal. She had been unconscious for so long, where were you then? Now that my daughter is in pain, you are here to increase her misery. I told her several times, do not mess with the likes of you. Look, how selfish you are. Now that my daughter is in pain and needs an alpha, you are trying to snatch that alpha away from her."
" His name is Mark." Alan replied with gritted teeth. " He has a name."
" I don't care what his name is, all I know is that my daughter will die if he did not imprint on her. " Mrs. Smith glared at Alan. " If you created another scene here and harmed Rui because of that. I swear to god, I will make you regret the rest of your life. Now, just go away and don't come back."
" Hey that alpha woke up. Look!!" A person in the crowd shouted.
People started peeking through the window one after another. Alan however, pushed them all aside. As he glanced through the window, he saw Mark looking into his eyes and saying something. Alan was not able to hear what he said but somehow, he knew his exact words ' please save me.'
Something inside him broke. Maybe it was his heart or his patience or his hope. Unconsciously, Alan started secreting pheromones in great amount. The smell of burning wood and rotting alcohol spread through the hallway within a minute. Everyone around started panting, retching and losing consciousness. One after another, people fell down like wooden dolls.
" What the hell is happening ! Evacuate! Everyone take the stairs and leave this ward. I repeat leave this ward. "
The rooms of the patients were already locked, so they hardly felt anything. But the people outside were greatly affected by Alan's pheromones. Many people fell unconscious and those who were concious were trying to drag them along. The commotion soon subsided as the whole hallway was abandoned by everyone. The last man standing there was Alan Tuan.
