He laid him down on the bed and went down to find a convenience store. Mark's temperature was still high. He must be administered with some antipyretics.

Alan was shocked. Mark's pupil were dilated. An alpha's pupil dilates only during marking. Mark was still in the middle of marking. That means Mark mistook him for Rui.
Everything he was doing right now were all meant for Rui. He ...he was nothing but a substitute.

Alan sat up. He looked at the person under him and two drops of tear turned his vision blurry. He couldn't help but hug Mark. He remembered the time when Mark hugged him and calmed him down. More tears came rolling down. He hid his face in his chest.
"I am sorry....I am so sorry...what have I done?...I lost everything..." Alan kept sobbing and crying.
Soon, it became dark outside Alan stood up and quietly walked out the door. He stumbled on a few things but he kept walking and walking until he reached that old apartment building.
Behind him, Mark opened his eyes slowly and looked at the door in a daze. They really did lose each other today.
