Chapter 47 - Concert (part 1)

Before heading to the concert hall I bought 3 songs from the systems shop and then headed to Gotham Orphanage. Most of the kids here had practiced singing for quite a while and a few of them were really good. I was here for Sammy this time instead of Noah. I asked her if she wanted to help me with a song. I planned to give Jude some money to give to her when she turns 18 for her contribution.

She was happy with the child labor and agreed. I used my HD filming crews camera I had purchased a while back to take a video of her singing the parts of a song I needed her to sing and then saved it. I then recorded myself with it doing each instrument that was needed for the songs. I recorded myself on the drums, guitar, bass, piano, and a few other instruments.

I set aside 11,500c to buy things from the system shop to put towards the concert. With the 11,500c I bought 5000 LED concert bracelets for 1c apiece, the peppers ghost hologram special effect device for 5000c, a minor charm potion for 1000c, and lastly a system controlled fog machine for 500c.

After that I created a few new costumes with the actors wardrobe for the show. The rest of the day I spent trying to hurry my t-shirts and cd orders up. I understood I was rushing things with these manufacturers/company's, but I needed them finished by tomorrow morning. I'm sure I came off as whatever they call 'Karen's' in this world, but I didn't care.

After I completed everything I needed to do for the day, I went to bed and got some good rest at my hotel. When I woke up I immediately traveled to the central city concert hall I was going to be performing at and met up with the stage hands to discuss how I planned to do things and how I wanted them to do the lights and other effects I wanted. They were great at their job so I didn't really have to do much.

When I was done talking to them, I went and thanked A.J and the rest of the backstreet boys band for the opportunity and told them I owed them one and to ask for anything if they ever needed it. If I could do it, I would.

Finally after all that, I went to pick up my t-shirts and cd's and then came back to set up my merch booth which Barbara Gordon had agreed to manage for me if I paid her for her time.

I only had 5000 led concert bracelets which was all I could afford if I wanted to save my coins, but there will be at least twenty thousand people attending this concert. That meant only a small amount of people would be able to purchase them.

I wanted them to be spread out in the audience as much as possible, so I told Barbara to limit the sell of one bracelet per group of people and to sell them for $50each. The Cd's were to be sold for $20 dollars each and the shirts were $15 dollars each. The bracelets could be reused at any of my future concerts as well, so the price was worth it. The bad part for the buyers was, they only worked for my concerts.

After telling Barbara how to sell everything, I made my way to the backstage and waited for the concert to start.

I peeked from backstage from time to time to see seats as they slowly got filled. I only had a fifteen minute opening slot, but I was a bit nervous for the first time in my singing career. I worried for all the things that could go wrong. This opportunity could make or break my singing career. I saw my three disciples among other familiar faces in the front row. I was surprised to see Kara and the Goth girl I had seen in my last big performance in Moonlight City.

To get the tickets they had, they had to have spent quite a lot of money, especially if they came for me. I doubted that was the case, because getting front row tickets this late would have been hard for most to do. They must have come for the other bands. I think the most surprising person I recognized a little further back in the seating was Dick Grayson and a few other young heroes.

A while later, I was informed by the stage coordinator that it was time for me to go on. As per my instructions the whole place was pitch black as I made my way to the stage and sat in front of the mic and piano. I could hear the murmuring of the crowd as everyone talked in hushed voices as they waited for me to start. I started to play 'The ordinary world' in the style of the evil within 2 game.

I drank the minor charm potion before the piano cut through the darkness, quieting down the people that were whispering before. I then began to sing, the room still pitch black.

🎶♪🎵Came in from a rainy Thursday

On the avenue

Thought I heard you talking softly

I turned on the lights, the TV

And the radio

Still I can't escape the ghost of you

What has happened to it all?

Crazy, some'd say

Where is the life that I recognize?🎶♪🎵

I then quickly activated the peppers ghost device which created a hologram that appeared out of thin air to the viewers. The hologram was of the young orphan Sammy from the recording I took of her yesterday. She began to sing as the projection of her glowed in the dark, visible to everyone.

🎶♪🎵But I won't cry for yesterday

There's an ordinary world

Somehow I have to find

And as I try to make my way

To the ordinary world

I will learn to survive🎶♪🎵

Her image dissolved away as if she was snapped away by thanos, the audience shocked at the sight. I began to sing again, the stage and myself not visible again.

🎶♪🎵Passion or coincidence

Once prompted you to say

Pride will tear us both apart

Well now pride's gone out the window

Cross the rooftops

Run away

Left me in the vacuum of my heart

What is happening to me?

Crazy, some'd say

Where is my friend when I need you most?🎶♪🎵

Suddenly a deep blue light shined down on me as I sang the chorus and I activated the peppers ghost device creating two more of me through the technology. One playing drums, another playing the guitar. The lights of the bracelets in the crowd also springing to action as they lit up to the rhythm of the song.

🎶♪🎵But I won't cry for yesterday

There's an ordinary world

Somehow I have to find

And as I try to make my way

To the ordinary world

I will learn to survive🎶♪🎵

The instrumentals played for a bit as the bracelets in the crowd danced along with the music and then Sammy appeared again a bit after.

🎶♪🎵What has happened to it all?

Crazy, some'd say

Where is the life that I recognize?🎶♪🎵

She disappeared again as I sang the last of the song, the bracelets going into effect again As I riffed the guitar myself this time, instead of the hologram, the other Prince Aeric's on the other instruments this time.

🎶♪🎵But I won't cry for yesterday

There's an ordinary world

Somehow I have to find

And as I try to make my way

To the ordinary world

I will learn to survive🎶♪🎵

The instrumentals built itself up until it dropped and you could hear Sammy whispering softly.

🎶♪🎵I will learn to survive🎶♪🎵
