Chapter 48 - Concert (final)

The song was over and the room went dark again as I heard the screams of new and old fans coming from the crowd. It had been a hit. I had a fifteen minute slot and that was one of the longer songs almost hitting the five minute mark. I drank a quick swig of water and moved onto the next song.

I figured id do costume change in front of the crowd, it would seem like a gimmick to the crowd and nothing more. Each time a new hero would be mentioned in the song, I planned to switch to that costume and the bracelet's in the crowd would turn color to match them as well. The large lcd behind me that was provided by the venue played a video to match my lyrics. I began to sing my next song called 'Something just like this originally by the Chainsmokers and Coldplay;.

🎶♪🎵I've been reading books of old

The legends and the myths

Achilles and his gold

Hercules and his gifts

Green Lantern's control

And Batman with his fists

And clearly, I don't see myself upon that list

But she said, Where'd you wanna go?

How much you wanna risk?

I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts

Some superhero

Some fairy tale bliss

Just something I can turn to

Somebody I can kiss🎶♪🎵

I grabbed 10 signed cd's and t-shirts and handed them out to the people that caught my eye the most in the front row seats including Kara, the goth girl, and my three disciple's. As I was handing them out, I was singing some "Doo's"

🎶♪🎵I want something just like this

Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo

Doo-doo-doo, doo, doo-doo

Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo🎶♪🎵

I moved to the center of the stage and sang the last of the song.

🎶♪🎵I've been reading books of old

The legends and the myths

The testaments they told

Moonlight city and its eclipse

And Superman unrolls a suit before he lifts

But I'm not the kind of person that it fits

She said, "Where'd you wanna go?

How much you wanna risk?

I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts

Some superhero

Some fairy tale bliss

Just something I can turn to

Somebody I can miss"

I want something just like this

I want something just like this🎶♪🎵

Instead of completing the song, I segwayed into my next song without skipping a beat. I quickly got behind my drum set and had the peppers ghost hologram take over the other instruments as I began to sing 'Blinding Lights' in the form of the band Rising Insane. The whole stage turned into a disco of flashing lights.

🎶♪🎵I've been tryna call

I've been on my own for long enough

Maybe you can show me how to love, maybe

I'm going through withdrawals

You don't even have to do too much

You can turn me on with just a touch, baby

I look around and

Sin City's cold and empty

No one's around to judge me

I can't see clearly when you're gone

And I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights

No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch

And I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night

Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I trust

YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!🎶♪🎵

I quickly moved away from the drums and went back to my guitar, the fog machine starting it's work and my hologram taking over the drums. The lights went into a strobe of blinding lights, making me appear to disappear and reappear from time to time as I danced with my guitar and threw my head around in a circle, throwing my hair this way and that, my hair was perfect for metal and screamo. The bracelets in the crowd in sync with the strobe, I started to scream into the mic again but louder this time.

🎶♪🎵I'm running out of time

'Cause I can see the sun light up the sky

So I hit the road in overdrive, baby

The city's cold and empty

No one's around to judge me

I can't see clearly when you're go-o-one

And I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights

No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch

And I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night

Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I TRUUUuuuusssssssst

I'm just walking by to let you know

I can never say it on the phone

Will never let you go this time

And I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights

No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch

YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!

I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights

No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch🎶♪🎵

The crowd had never heard such a sound or seen such a performance before. They were in a fit of craze, cheering and yelling different things toward me as I finished up the song.

The song eventually ended and although I still had a lot of time left, I decided to end it with just one last song. I spoke into the mic for the first time since arriving. "My name is Prince Aeric to those of you that don't know and before I go I plan to sing one last song. Before that, I wanted to thank the fans that showed up for me on such a last minute performance. I greatly appreciate all of you."

After I was done speaking, I felt a few raindrops hit my face. It was an outside venue and I had read there was going to be a chance of rain and had a song prepared just in case it did. I gave up on the song I was about to do and switched to the backup song as I began to sing 'Tears don't fall' by bullet for my valentine. I sent out a small ki blast meant to blow a strong wind towards the audience and yelled at the top of my lungs.

🎶♪🎵LETTTTTTSSSSSSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!🎶♪🎵

As my hologram danced around on stage playing the guitar, I played the drums and began to sing.

🎶♪🎵With bloodshot eyes, I watch you sleeping

The warmth I feel beside me is slowly fading

Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she knew my shame?

There's always something different going wrong

The path I walk's in the wrong direction

There's always someone fucking hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?🎶♪🎵

Almost on command the rain started to pour heavily as the bracelets in the crowd glowed a somber white and in turn lighting up the raindrops as they fell. For ever person that had bought a LED braclet from my merch booth, it appeared that a cloud of rain hung just above each of their heads targeting them. This all happened in the span of a second as i sang my chorus.

🎶♪🎵Your tears don't fall, they crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

Your tears don't fall, they crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

The moments die, I hear no screaming

The visions left inside me are slowly fading

Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she knew my shame?

There's always something different going wrong

The path I walk's in the wrong direction

There's always someone fucking hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don't fall, they crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home

Your tears don't fall, they crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home🎶♪🎵

I started to rift on my guitar as I danced around on stage.

I yelled into the mic as the the lights started flashing on the stage.

🎶♪🎵OHH! YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!🎶♪🎵

A video of Moonlight City played on the screen behind me. The moon low to the earth and the stars were so bright you felt it was all close enough to touch if you grabbed for them.

I continued my guitar solo before singing again.

🎶♪🎵This battered room I've seen before

The broken bones they heal no more, no more

With my last breath, I'm choking

Will this ever end? I'm hoping

My world is over, one more time!

Let's go!🎶♪🎵

I did yet another guitar solo, putting on a show of skill with it and the crowd below me was in awe. The goth girl in the front row was headbanging to the song along with my disciples and ...Kara surprisingly.

🎶♪🎵Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she knew my shame?

There's always something different going wrong

The path I walk's in the wrong direction

There's always someone fucking hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don't fall, they crash around me

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home (Tears don't fall)

Your tears don't fall, they crash around me (Conscience calls)

Her conscience calls the guilty to come (Better!)

Your tears don't fall, they crash around me (Conscience calls)

Her conscience calls the guilty to come home!🎶♪🎵

I grabbed a t-shirt gun I had laying nearby and fired 10 autographed t-shirts into the crowd and then walked off the stage. I still had a few minutes left, but I had nothing more to do here. The crowd was thunderous with their applause as I walked off the stage to the back.. I couldn't help but smile.

As I was heading backstage, A.J from the backstreet boys stopped me. "Openers aren't supposed to outshine the main act bro". He laughed, but I could tell he was somewhat serious. It was a tough act to follow.

I felt bad, but I didn't regret it. I needed to put myself first in times like this if I wanted to succeed. It would be dumb to spoil this god given opportunity.

A.J. saw my awkward face and patted me on the back "It's all good bro, but now I will for sure hold you to that favor you spoke of before."

A,J, was a nice guy and I liked how understanding he was given the circumstances. "No problem, ask for anything. I'll do my best to help"

They weren't empty words, I meant it. If I could help him somehow in the future, I would.

As I headed back to my dressing room, A.J. and his group headed to the stage, they were the main event and most of the people had come here for them so the initial shouts and clapping was a lot more loud than when I first walked out.

I was one step closer to my goal. One of these days, I would be an A list celebrity everyone would know about.
