"Since the elder has commanded it I will assist you." Jia Lin reluctantly agreed, she had no way to change Zhishi Wu's mind at this point.
"That's the spirit, nowww." Zhishi Wu started to scan the herbs surrounding him.
There were flowers with varying colors some even had a mix of different colors, there were also plants which seemed to bear singular fruits with different defining characteristics.
Zhishi Wu reached out to examine a specific fruit it was covered in thorns like a rose and had a bright pink color but just before he was about to touch it seemed to pulsate, it was akin to a human's heartbeat and he instinctively jerked his hand away.
"Qi can truly make all things possible." Zhishi Wu whispered under his breath, he had seen Qi affect humans and animals to such an extent he should have expected the plants to be no different.
'This fruit is known as the pulsating purewater fruit, it's a plant that has reached Qi condensation and is used for enhancing children's sensitivity to Qi making it easier for them to breakthrough into Qi condensation."
Zhishi Wu nodded and looked towards a stem that sprung forth from the ground and had a pearl embedded within its skin.
"This is known as the earth pearl sprout and is used to treat internal injuries for disciples, also at the QI condensation stage."
Zhishi Wu continued looking around and got similar answers, a mortal shedding rose, vital breath ginseng and QI wringing peas among others, he nodded at the explanations and was about to decide on what to refine when he saw something else.
A lily that glowed a soft silver color and emanated QI stood in a section of the garden completely separated from everything else.
As Zhishi Wu was about to approach the plant a hand grabbed him.
"Elder you can't approach that plant!" Jia Lin hurriedly warned.
As soon as she realized what she had done she quickly unhanded him while lowering her head.
"My apologies elder, but that plant is the embryonic form of the resurrection Lily currently within the foundation establishment stage and will drain the life force of any entity that is within a certain range of it including plants, animals and cultivators."
"I see, thank you for the warning." Zhishi Wu scrutinized the flower, despite its timid form it actually seemed to be attracting him.
"Quite a intelligent creature." Zhishi Wu stated.
"Why don't you recommend a beginner level pill to me." Zhishi Wu had satisfied his curiosity about the ingredients and was ready to refine a pill.
Jia Lin had a thoughtful expression on her face, she wanted to give him an easy pill to refine but not want to make it too easy so he would not feel insulted.
"I recommend refining a pill of mortal shedding, you are familiar with the singular ingredient required and it could improve your QI sensitivity if only by a little bit."
Very well, Zhishi Wu grabbed the pulsating purewater fruit and made his way to the cauldron. When he stood in front of it and stared at the cauldron he began to think critically.
This type of analysis was not something he had done often, realistically it could be referred to as a flow state, he thought about all the different components required, he thought about the heat of the flame, the thickness of the cauldron and analyzed how hot the pot would be at different times.
He changed his focus from the cauldron to the fruit in his hand and thought about its melting point and ability to condense. Lastly he considered the idea of using QI to refine it.
"Should I treat it as a fire starter then or a chisel for the rock."
Finally, he tossed the fruit into the cauldron and began to focus.
"There's no better way to improve than practice so I might as well start now." he thought as he began to direct the Qi towards the plant.
He thought about how pills worked back on earth, the outer surrounding is meant to slowly melt away in the digestive system to slowly release the effects, but from what he's seen of this world's pills there is no outer layer meaning the effect is instant and is not sustained very long.
"I don't care how magical it is, if the effect of a medicine is delivered slowly over time it's much better absorbed overtime." he thought to himself.
Internally he felt hesitant about the method he was employing but he had to do this.
"I don't believe that my previous life's knowledge will become useless here." he couldn't accept that an innovator like him could fall behind here.
The pill burned with an intensity and was showing signs of being formed, zhishi Wu instantly bit his lip and threw some of his blood into the cauldron.
The crimson blood slowly swirled around the nascent pill and slowly started to form a barrier.
"THIS IS IT." Zhishi Wu muttered and suddenly intensified the Qi flowing into the cauldron, the pill suddenly condensed and became super dense.
He removed the lid and the pill flew out, it resonated with the blood within his palm and glowed a dark red color while still seeming to pulsate ever so slightly.
"It seems to have come out the way I envisioned, there's no micro fractures within the inner surface, Qi is not leaking, and burn marks are only present on the outer layer of blood.
"This…" Jia Lin was dumbstruck, she had never seen the pulsating purewater fruit refined like this.
It wasn't like it was a perfect refinement but, it wasn't something conventional either.
"I should probably test this on someone." he thought to himself before turning his head and looking at Jia Lin who was standing there staring at the pill.
