Two days went by as Zhishi Wu mastered the language used within inscriptions as well as their mechanism of action.
"It's time to test my knowledge."
Zhishi Wu exited his cave aboad and looked around for unsuspecting wildlife in the area and just like clockwork a rabbit made its way across the grass.
Zhishi Wu grabbed the rabbit and took it back to his cave, within his two days of research he had figured out that formations could be used whenever and wherever as long as the user had a surface to write on and Qi to power the formation.
"Forgive me for this." Zhishi Wu said with a straight face as he covered his index finger with Qi and brought it towards the rabbit's stomach.
"This should be the inscription for anger." as soon as Zhishi Wu finished drawing the inscription he fueled it with some of his own Qi, just as he had expected the rabbit began to resist more violently and even attempted to bite Zhishi Wu.
"It seems general emotional changes without too much direction don't consume too much Qi, only around 1 or 2 percent."
Zhishi Wu then drew a line across the formation and the effect dissipated instantly.
"Now let's see how physical changes are transferred through formations."
…
As Zhishi Wu continued his experimentation, somewhere far, far away on the subcontinent he was the focus of another conversation.
The guards outside the chambers of the leader of the divine union sect had sweat dripping down their brows as they stood there unmoving and watched Bai Wushi walk in unimpeded, in their eyes Bai Wushi was someone on par if not stronger than their sect master a top 5 existence within the entire sub continent.
The two women looked at each other and sighed.
"I've heard he once killed two cultivators because they besmirched his favourite place to observe a sunrise."
The other guard responded. "That's tame compared to what I heard, apparently he earned the nickname crimson demon because he had once eradicated a small sect overnight by burning everyone alive."
"Great Heavens! I thought the Blazing Bones sect was an orthodoxy."
"BAH! What orthodoxy and what demonic, at the end of the day it just comes down to everyone's bottom line."
Instantly the guard that had made this statement burst into flames and evaporated, a peak Qi condensation cultivator had vanished just like that.
The other guard merely turned his head straight and trembled while hoping that she had enough good karma in his life to not die at this moment.
"Don't speak needlessly while working." Bai Wushi said in a loud enough voice for everyone near the chambers to hear.
Bai Wushi heard what the guards were saying and didn't care for it so he shut them up, an action simple as breathing for him.
"Oh my, to what do I owe the pleasure, it is such a great honour that the handsome leader of the Blazing Bones Sect has graced me with his presence." the sect master of the Divine Union sect spoke in a sarcastic tone.
"Keep your humor to your self Ei Denrai, I am not in the mood." Bai Wushi Stood across the veil that had covered her, of course to someone of his power the veil was not capable of effecting his vision if he did not want it to, however he was a gentleman and would not peak if not warranted.
The figure behind the veil sat up and looked towards Bai Wushi as her long silver hair cascaded down her shoulder and she tilted her head which held two sharp almond shaped eyes and lips that were red as a rose in full bloom.
"So what is it that you have come here for. Other than attacking innocent disciples of mine." she asked in a serious tone with a hint of aggression.
Bai Wushi furrowed his eyebrows and was about to say something before quickly stopping himself and reforming his sentence.
"Just to establish my innocence I'll let you know defamation is a crime I punish by death. I'm here to discuss our mutual interest, the child known as Zhishi Wu, subjects such as his location."
Ei Denrai smirked before responding "no luck from your friends at the Phantom Snake Guild?"
Bai Wushi clenched his fists "They have a surefire way to find him but it requires his blood, which I do not have."
Ei Denrai slowly walked out from behind the veil fully revealing her tall stature, purple robe woven with spiritual silk and a large fan that covered parts of her face, she approached Bai Wushi before circling him once and looking him in the eyes. Each step she took was another instance in which she saw Bai Wushi tense up and prepare to fight, in the end however it was all for naught.
She merely stood in front of him and responded "I may have a way to secure his blood but it will take a longgg time, could be months or years. I've currently dispatched a search party into the eastern wasteland as well, now what have you done?"
"I've also dispatched search parties within the eastern wasteland, althought they haven't found the child they have heard grumblings of a cult of some sort."
She took a moment to think about the exchange. "After I find the child we share the boons whatever they may be and you compensate my sect with 7 pills and formations of my choice."
Bai Wushi forcible grabbed her hand and shook it. "It shall be as you say, I swear it under heaven."
Bai Wushi's statement became self evidently true as he put forth a heavenly restriction on himself, as long as he obeyed his oath he would be fine, however if broken he would die. Normally he would weasel out of casting it however he was not trying to waste time in this situation.
As he began to walk away Ei Denrai called you "What was that about the cult?"
Bai Wushi raised his hand and waved it back and forth without turning around "Just some lunatics running around acting self important, no real issue."
Ei Denrai bit her thumb out of habit when Bai Wushi left "Always have to leave me hanging don't you." she said as she returned to her veil.
