"Celestial Phenomena?"
"A cultivator's celestial phenomena will be the most vital weapon in their arsenal." she said before taking another bite out of her bamboo stick.
Celestial Phenomena manifestation was a way of cultivators connecting themselves the very world itself, it not only composed of Qi but of a mysterious heavenly energy.
"How does one go about acquiring a celestial phenomena?" Zhishi Wu had put away his book at this point and was just talking to her.
"Ahh, I'm having a little trouble remembering, if only someone knew how to ask properly." she said while leaning backwards and pretending to think hard.
"..."
At this point Zhishi Wu wouldn't be surprised if a thousand-year-old cultivator still had the maturity of a child.
"Please advise me fellow elder." He had no qualms in satisfying these childish demands, what was dignity? What was Face? Dignity and face wouldn't help him figure out what a Celestial Phenomena was.
Mei Fan grinned at him and sat up before replying.
"Celestial Phenomena are like gifts granted by the heavens to every cultivator, a celestial phenomena can be anything, I've seen people with unique weapons granted by the heavens, people with the ability to temporarily boost their cultivation and a few more."
"And how do you gain them."
"They are naturally bestowed upon a cultivator when breaking into the foundation establishment realm, although it's not always within the first heaven, it could be anywhere from the 1st to the 9th realm."
Zhishi Wu nodded, if he understood what she had said properly that would mean that he had to account for unknown variables within his battle against other elders in six months.
"In truth I've heard that they can be learned and taught as well, however it can only be done after reaching the Ethereal Core stage, otherwise your body would implode."
This was too far away to think about right now, Zhishi Wu was more interested in the specifics of Celestial Phenomena.
"How about a demonstration?" Zhishi Wu wanted to strike while she was in the teaching type of mood.
Mei Fan looked at Zhishi Wu and burst out laughing "hahaha."
"Did I say something funny?"
She stood up and began walking towards Gomu.
"It's a secret."
"This person is really strange, not only is asking other cultivators about their Celestial Phenomena taboo but asking a demonstration which would drain a huge amount of their Qi." she thought as she held her laughter and continued walking.
Zhishi Wu was left sitting there wondering how he had messed up.
"Maybe this is the effects of my underdeveloped social skills." he sighed.
There was not much that he was inept at in his past life but socializing was definitely not one of his strong suits.
As he sat there alone he brought his hand up towards his neck and let Snip rub against it.
"What about you little Snip do you have a Celestial Phenomena?"
The little snake looked at him at tilted its head sideways and spoke directly into his head.
"Maybe this little snake will help me understand what these truly are." Zhishi Wu was anticipating a satisfying answer.
"Food?"
"Where did it get food from what I said?" he thought for a second.
"No it's not food."
"Food where?"
"No we're not talking about food."
"Food tomorrow."
"No."
"Food Tonight?." the snake started to bob its head up and down like it was getting excited.
Zhishi Wu couldn't believe how dead set on eating this little snake was, maybe this is what having children was like, he had never gotten around to it his previous life he did not have the time.
"We'll get you some food tomorrow." he sighed as he got back into a lotus position.
"At this point reaching foundation establishment as soon as possible should be my goal." he thought as he began to cultivate.
…
"KAPN KAPN." a scrawny looking man ran into a room which reeked of wine and a mysterious substance.
A behemoth of a man nearly eight feet in length and dressed in various rags from head to toe stopped drinking and turned his head towards the scrawny fellow.
"Stop yer yabbering and speak." he said as he took another swig of a drink.
The scrawny man caught his breath before replying
"The Raging Thunder Sect has dispatched two elders to come to Ironhold city." he was panicking as he spoke, his hands shaking and restlessly moving back and forth.
The tall man stood up and approached him before smacking him into a wall.
"DID YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD FEAR TWO ELDERS?!" The man was enraged.
"OR COULD IT BE LITTLE OLD SCRAWNY DOESN'T HAVE FAITH IN HIS KAPN?" he inquired as he approached the man who had slid off the wall.
Surprisingly the scrawny man stood up almost unharmed.
"NO KAPN NEVER! I was just worried that you may be annoyed."
Kapn walked back to his chair and sat down, before grabbing the bottle of alcohol he had been drinking.
"Let'em come this is all part of the plan dummy heeheh."
The scrawny man approached with a curious gaze.
"The plan?"
Kapn took another drink before replying.
"Of course, these mortal's money isn't worth much, what we have to do is get cultivators hooked on this sunset powder." he signaled to the yellow powder in his hand.
The scrawny man's face lit up.
"The boss is great, the boss is wise." he clapped his hands in excitement.
"Of course haha." he chugged the entirety of the remaining bottle.
"When I get these cultivators hooked on this I'll not only be making heaps of gold but spirit stones as well."
He looked at the scrawny man and thought about something before giving him instructions.
"When they come to the city stay out of sight, if they see us they will fight immediately, the goal is to get them to sample the product as part of their investigation."
"Yes, yes. What about the mayor?" the scrawny man nodded his head.
"Keep him locked up, maybe we can use him as a hostage."
"Boss is wise."
"YES, YES I AM."
