Chapter 11 - 11. Married to the Persian King

Ramon's POV

I was not the kind of being to be enamored by someone or something and so it came as a bit of shock when the princess of Celestial catches my eye.

She was a beautiful, fair maiden but the most enchanting thing about her was her innocence - its sweet aroma called to me like an incense. I had blurted out what I wanted as soon as I saw her - to marry her.

Celestial held mating sacred, especially for royalty and I couldn't just lust after her like it is done in my world. The only way to lure her was to marry her. Gods be damned if I cared what the repercussions might or might not be.

I was a desperate being who would do anything to get what he wanted.

"You helped us. Thank you for your effort, Ramon." The queen said. We were standing on a field with beautiful pink tulips and I could not help but think about how beautiful Celestial actually was. If I didn't hate angels so much, I would actually like to stay here for a while just to be away from my kingdom for sometime.

"The condition still stands." I reminded her.

She turned to me with a look of mockery, "You honestly did not think I would give my daughter to you, did you?"

I chuckled dryly, "You do not want to do this, Queen Gabrielle. You know it never ends well." I waved my wings violently for emphasis.

"You are delusional, Ramon. My daughter is not going to marry..."

"I will marry him, mother."

Her small voice interrupted our heated conversation. I turned around to give the princess who was currently glaring at me too cutely if I might add, a small smirk.

"You seem more clear headed than your mother", I teased.

The queen looked at me with contempt and moved forward to grab her daughter by the arm. I did not eavesdrop on their conversation, I just knew they had no choice but to comply.

Lilith's POV

It felt like a bad dream that I would soon wake up from but everytime I pinched myself to wake up, I was still stuck in the bad dream. Standing in front of me was King Ramon, my soon to be husband. The priest was blessing our union and all I could do was stand and stare in shock.

How did this happen?

Just last light, we were fighting wraiths. Now, I was getting married to an half-breed. My eyes locked onto my mother's and although she tried to hide it, she was deeply pained. Tears built up at the corner of my eyes at my reality.

"I proclaim you both to be husband and wife..." The priest proclaimed finally. The whole hall was quiet - no claps or hollers could be heard. Everyone was still reeling from the shock that the princess of Celestial was getting married to the Persian King.

"Abomination!" An angel finally shouted in anger.

And every other angel started to holler 'abomination!' with them. The holy ground turned chaotic as the angels present started cursing the demons Ramon had brought with him.

Someone boldly threw wind magic to Ramon and he caught it without moving an inch. Gasps ensued from every corner of the hall, even I was shocked.

"You angel thwarts do forget that I am half-angel." He said in a scolding manner.

"Now, what has been done cannot be undone. The princess is now my wife, you angels should grow some balls and suck it up!"

The hall went graveyard quiet.

"That is much better."

I peeled my hands away from Ramon's and teleported to the Garden of Eden. He would not be able to find me here for the time being. The tears fell down my eyes in a rush. I sobbed for a long time, before my mother appeared beside me.

"You must not do it, Lilith. You can still say no." She pleaded desperately while taking my hands in hers.

I sighed, the tears falling afresh again, "We promised, mother."

"You do not owe anyone an explanation. You are the princess of Celestial!"

"That is the more reason why I need to do this! If I do not go with that devil, he will not go into an alliance with us. He might even be mad enough to dissemble the wraithstone...and mother, enough angels have gone in one day...if this is the way we become stronger to defeat Satan and his cohorts, then I will gladly pay the price for my people."

My mother looked at me, her eyes filling up with tears. "You are the perfect next queen of Celestial, my dear child. May the Everlight be with you."

I nodded as she blessed me in tears.

Ramon's POV

The princess and her mother teleported back with a new determination on their faces. The princess suddenly looked less like a scared little girl and more of a woman who could do anything she wants to.

I grinned slyly as she approached me.

"I have one demand." She said in a bold voice.

"Anything, love."

"You keep your side of the deal by allying yourself with Celestial. I am your wife now, and you will promise me never to abandon my people until this trouble is averted."

"Of course! That is no problem, love....I am a being of my words."

She turned to her mother and hugged her tightly. I cringed slightly at the display of affection but at the same time, it moved me. I have never had a parent or someone who loved me unconditionally, it was actually nice to see that although it did not exist in my dark life, it did exist someplace else.

I signalled to my demons to open a portal.

"When it is time, I will bring her back for she is the princess of Celestial before she is my wife. But for now, she is my wife first and needs to learn the ways of the demon world."

"How long will it take?" Queen Gabrielle asked.

"As long as I deem fit as her husband." I told her.

Lilith's POV

"How long will it take?" My mother asked my devil husband.

"As long as I deem fit as her husband." He told her.

I sighed and look around. Deep in a corner of the hall was Penelope. She had a pleased smirk on her face.

Her father also seemed too relaxed.

I did not know what they had planned but I knew it was not good. I just hoped my mother could handle them alone.

"Shall we?" My husband held out his arm and I took it.

His devilish lips were put in a smirk and I found myself wanting to kiss them.

"Yes."
