Chapter 15 - 15. Soulmate

Lilith's POV

I refused to speak to anyone after my quarrel with Ramon. I remained in my chambers stubbornly in a bid to pass a message - I was not a child!

But on second thought, I was behaving like one sitting in isolation and sulking so, I decided to come out and tell Ramon a piece of my mind.

Asmodeus was right in front of my chamber when I portaled out. I shook, a bit startled because I hadn't expected to meet him there.

"Excuse me?" I demanded while looking at him preposterously.

He grunted like he always did, "My Lord is waiting for you in the eating room. He is displeased with your...childish display."

I gasped in annoyance, "Go tell him he can rot in hell's pit for all I care!" I retorted.

Asmodeus was about to reply when someone walked in and interrupted our conversation. It was the female demon I had seen with Ramon earlier at the eating room. I hadn't asked him about her because I didn't want him to get any ideas but now, my curiousity piqued. Who was she and why did she roam like she owned the place?

She had a look of disgust on her face, directed at me.

Asmodeus turned to look at her with a glare, "What are you doing here? Does my lord know you are here?"

She scoffed, "Take a deep breath, Asmodeus. I am only here to see his new angel pet."

I looked at her in surprise. Did she just call me Ramon's angel pet?

"Who are you?" I asked in annoyance. She was a beautiful, shiny demon but that didn't make her less annoying.

She chuckled in disbelief, "You are quite unbelievable to think you can ask me a question and I would answer."

What was her problem? And why did I see part of Ramon's energy mixed with hers?

Asmodeus interrupted whatever smart reply was about to come out of my mouth.

"My lord awaits." He said with a cold voice to the female demon and walked forward.

I followed him but not without giving her another glance and she was smirking like she had won a battle I wasn't aware of.

Asmodeus took me to meet Ramon in the eating room. The annoying demon was seated, chewing slowly on one of those red balled up human food.

Yes, they were tasty but it wasn't something one was supposed to eat every light. It was very unhealthy for a spiritual being to dabble that much into the physical world which was why in Celestial, we steered clear from the physical realm completely with exception of the collectors.

"Are you satisfied?" Ramon demanded in a loud voice. He did not seem too happy.

"Satisfied with what?" I asked while standing a good distance away from him at the other end of the long table.

"With what's happening?"

I became scared, "What's happening? Did something happen at Celestial?"

"While you were inside sulking, the wraiths struck again."

"I wasn't sulking and what do you mean?"

"The wraiths struck again but no one was harmed, thankfully. It was another surprise attack and we were not prepared, again. My father seems to be way ahead of our realms and the wraithstone is already losing its potency. I think he has a hand in it."

"So fast?! I just came here last light!" I exclaimed worriedly.

"Time travels faster here than at Celestial. So you have been here for seven lights apparently."

It all sounded like fiction to me. How could I have been here for seven lights already?!

"My mother..." I gasped out softly.

"She's okay, for now."

I breathed out in relief but then I got angry at Ramon. This was all his fault.

"Take me back to my people!" I cried out.

"That's not possible. You are my wife."

I was appalled by his audacity, "You think this is the time to be all about mating? You obviously have another female you are frolicking about with, so what do you need me for?!"

Ramon was undisturbed by the fact I knew about that female demon, "Jezebel is my succubus and yes, I am frolicking about with her."

I didn't know why it hurt but it did. I disguised the hurt as loathing.

"Whatever. What do you need me for? I know this is not just about marrying me..."

"No, it is not just about that. I need you to be at your full potential."

"What do you mean?"

"You and I are tied by destiny, princess. We are meant for something great."

I looked at him like he was stupid. What was he going on about?

"I do not understand."

He sighed, "You do not have wings because you also have demon blood running through your veins. You are half demon like me but your demon side only shows in your lack of wings luckily for you."

I listened in shock. So the rumours were true. I didn't know if to be sad or happy that I now knew the cause of my situation.

"To have wings, you need to extract your demon side out of you completely and to be a full demon, I also need to extract my angel side completely out of me too. The only person that can do that is you, with your ability to see energies."

"How do you know so much about me?! Have you been spying on Celestial?!" I exclaimed worriedly while taking a step back slowly. Who was he? What did he want with me? Was he enacting Satan's plans secretly?

He chuckled and with a sinister smirk said, "I have been watching you since you were born, Lilith. You are my soulmate and I am yours too."
