"Filming? You mean that you will take part in the documentary, Minami-san?!"
"Well, it wouldn't work without me would it?~"
I was just joking, but Riyuzaki nodded.
"You are right, it wouldn't."
Seriously, what is up with this guys head? If he was anyone else, I would have thought that he was trying to flirt with me, but maybe this Riyuzaki is just really innocent?
He ran to his bag and took out a video camera.
"We have some studio lights in here. It will take a little while to set up. Could you move over there?"
I rolled my wheel chair in front of the large white sheet Riyuzaki had pointed to and he surrounded me with various odd looking lamps with tinfoil covers. When he turned them on, the dim afternoon classroom came alive with light. I had to shut my eyes a little to adjust to the sudden change. When I opened them, my eyes met his.
"Beautiful."
…
"No, Minima-san, wait, I didn't mean it in a weird way. I was just saying the lighting makes you look good. Not that you don't look good without the light! I mean…"
It was strange to hear Riyuzaki speak so fast. I wonder if anyone else had seen this side of his. At least in school, I am the only person he speaks this freely to. But even if he is slowly starting to see me as a friend, I am sure that this Riyuzaki didn't see me as a girl.
"Thanks, Riyuzaki~"
I winked at him with a smile and his cheeks went very red and it looked like steam was coming out of this head. Seriously, how much of a virgin was this guy?
We spent a little while taking recordings to check film quality and that the electronics were working correctly. Riyuzaki even gave me a little mock script that he wrote up to read.
The way we would make the documentary is that we would by taking videos of the school during the day. Then later add in the introduction and transitions and dub in explanations.
Since there wasn't much to do today, we finished up work quickly. Although Riyuzaki was good at ordering me about on stage, when we finished, he returned to his usual quiet self and sat quietly sat down on a chair a little away from me.
In the silence, I thought back again to yesterday afternoon. If hadn't known any better, I would have thought that Riyuzaki, the other Riyuzaki, had made up this idea about making a documentary as an excuse to spend time together.
Ha~ I really am a self-conscious loser. Still, his behaviour and thought process back then were really strange. It was almost like he was a hero out of a film.
"Riyuzaki, do you like acting?"
"…Yes, a little."
I thought he would elaborate, but it looked like this virgin was going to need a push.
"When did you start learning to act?"
Riyuzaki went silent and started pull at the buttons on his shirt.
"Please, don't laugh."
I nodded, but there is no way I can promise that.
"When I was younger I would do impressions of anime characters."
"He~ So, you can do impressions? That's cool! Who can you can you do an impression of?"
He went on the list a couple of characters, along with an short analysis of their personality. Although some of them came close, nobody really matched that guy.
"How about the guy roof top yesterday?"
"That was-"
He was so in the zone that he only just managed to stop himself.
"Sorry, Minami-san, please forget about that."
I wonder what that guy would do in a situation like this. We were in this dark empty alone. Maybe he would have sat me on his lap and… No, no, no, I wafted quickly waved those thoughts away.
"Minami-san?"
Looking at Riyuzaki now, I could see no trace of the guy that had swept me off my feet. But, why was I searching for him in the first place? What is it that I could see in that guy that was probably just virgin Riyuzaki's power fantasy?
"I can't forget about him just yet. Please, show me one more time."
