Chapter 3 - Kidnapped

As days went by, Derrick was in a daze. His thoughts about the mysterious girl caused him to get side-tracked. He kept on chugging down water while Leo looked at him in confusion since they were working on the case.

"Derrick! Derrick! Hey!" Leo waved at him, but Derrick was lost in his thought. He suddenly jumped up when his teammate scared him.

"I told you not to scare me!" He yelled at Leo, who was in shock.

"Derrick, I was calling your name several times, but you were lost in your thoughts. Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Sorry, I'm just a bit tired. Where were we on this case?" Derrick cleared his throat and tried to concentrate on his work.

Leo got out his notes, and Derrick read over some of the stuff he wrote. The criminal they were supposed to find belonged to an organization called the Omega Group. Omega Group is the largest criminal organization, and many of the investigators don't know where it is headquartered. During an interrogation, the suspected criminal mentioned that no one would be able to find them. The criminal had a special tattoo on his neck, which represents his loyalty to the organization. Derrick wrote down the information and thanked Leo for the notes.

That afternoon, the police chief had a meeting with some of the other officers regarding this case. The suspicious death of Michael Bai led to an international search involving many different countries. All of them are trying to find the many different branches of this criminal organization.

Police Chief Lan demanded an answer since time was running short. Derrick took out his phone and called one of his buddies.

"Ye Qiu, are you busy?"

"No, what's up?"

"Can we meet up right now?"

"Sure. Where?"

"At Paradise Cafe." Derrick ended the call and grabbed his denim jacket.

"Leo, I'm heading out. Tell the Chief I'm coming back late." Leo shouted, "Okay! Be careful!"

The weather in Sanya was always beautiful. Derrick enjoyed sunbathing whenever he had time. But lately, this case has been getting more and more complicated, so he didn't have the time to enjoy sunbathing. He quickly went into the cafe and met up with Ye Qiu. Ye Qiu was one of his best friends back in university. Ye Qiu ordered coffee for both of them, and then Derrick went straight to the case.

"Ye Qiu, have you heard of the Omega Group?"

Ye Qiu clenched his hand but then released it.

"No. I don't. Who are they?"

Derrick explained what he knew to Ye Qiu and finally said, "Ye Qiu, I know you know a lot of people. Can you help me with this case?" Ye Qiu smiled and rejected the offer.

"I'm sorry, Derrick. I can't. But I wish you the best. My wife is waiting for me. I need to go now." Ye Qiu quickly went to his car and touched his neck. Thankfully, his clothes covered up the tattoo. He got out his phone and called them.

"My Lady, the person you told me to meet is digging up information about the company. What do we do?" Ye Qiu gripped his phone while their boss was silent for a few minutes.

"Ye Qiu, don't worry. They won't be able to find us. I have my plans, come back for now."

Elvira hung up, and Ye Qiu quickly drove back to the organization. Two years ago, their boss saved him from dying when he was beaten multiple times by a group of gangs. He only needed to remain loyal to their boss, and all of the financial problems would be taken care of.

Derrick went back to the station in less than an hour of meeting up with Ye Qiu. He thought something was suspicious, but he shook off the thought. He can not falsely accuse someone. Police Chief asked Derrick to meet him in his office.

"Derrick, I know this is a difficult case. But time is running out. I want your team to find them no matter what methods you use. Go undercover even if you need to."

On that night, he was driving back to his studio apartment when a black van stopped in front of him. Someone stepped out of the van wearing a mask, and another group of people came out in masks as well.

"And I thought I could go back and snooze properly." He sighed. Just then, someone else came out of the vehicle. Derrick had to squint his eyes because their car front light was blinding him. It took him a few seconds to notice it was the same lady he saw back in the bar.

"Why is she here?" Derrick was confused, but he didn't want to go out and fight alone. He grabbed his phone and tried to call 119, but his phone went out of battery.

"S---" Derrick closed his eyes and calmed himself. He was safe in the vehicle. His door was all locked, and no one could enter. But when he tried to drive away, he suddenly became unconcious.

"Get him out." Elvira demanded them, "I only said a little bit. Did I say to put all of them in?! Get him out! I want him alive."

"Yes, my lady." They hurried and broke the window. Two men carried Derrick out of the vehicle, and one of them checked his breathing.

"My lady, he's still alive."

"Get him on the car."

"Yes, my lady."

Derrick was still unconscious, Elvira placed his head on her lap. She gently touched his face. Apparently, she wanted to let him sleep for a bit but didn't expect her men to make such a simple error. Since one of Derrick's car windows was opened, she was able to ask them to mist the car with a small amount of anesthesia.

Derrick's eyes were opened, but he was feeling very weak and heavy. He looked around and noticed he was at a strange place. The room was dimly lit, and it was very spacious.

"Where am I?" He whispered.

Then, he saw the young lady again. She was beautiful.

"It's you again." He said to her, but Elvira shut him up and touched his lips with her slender index finger and made him stop talking.

"You're at my place now." Her seductive voice was somehow calming Derrick to sleep. He slowly closed his eyes, and Elvira stayed beside him after asking her people to stop bothering her.
